For those who don’t understand, this game is based on a painting called Along the River During the Qingming Festival (清明上河图)! Like imagine if Starry Night got turned into a video game
the style is, but Qingming was painted in Song, and this game takes place in the transistion period from Ming to Qing, ironically?

The scope of this game seems VERY ambitious. With both life sim, city management, and action swordplay. But if they can somehow pull it off it I'll definitely buy it

Those that used stone significantly like the Egyptians and Mesopotamians did so because there was no wood around. There was no 'reset,' stop watching ancient aliens please

My instincts tell me this game will be a let down, or even a scam. It just promises so much in such a vague way… in this day and age of transparency… it just seems like it’s holding back the truth. How could it promise so much?

Oh that's exactly how games should visually look. Very neat and clean still being very detailed.
The first few mins were so civilized, and then the stealth and looting escalated things. The artwork looks stunning, though, especially the lighting at dusk.

I've always wanted a city builder you can play in. Sim City 4 had an expansion where you could fly helicopters and other things, it was awesome to interact with the city you built in that way.

This game reminds me of the 2002, city building game, Emperor Rise of the Middle Kingdom.
The shops and the farming buildings looking quite similar. It surely must be inspired by it.

This almost reminds me of Kenshi but in the style of Chinese artwork. If this can really refine a lot of what Kenshi was able to do and then some, this game will be absolutely incredible. I'm excited to see how this game will turn out!

Japanese was influenced by the Tang Dynasty period so a lot of Japanese architecture and custom kinda look similar.

ancient china is so beautiful, not just ancient china even china now in 2024, Beijing, or Shanghai! the culture, language, land, music and food is so damn cool, there's this girl in 7th grade and she is from china, thought she was Korean or Japanese at first but she's Chinese, lucky girl. best country in the world.
