Shearing the top side of the neck on a fine wool merino must take a lot of skill! Did you learn that straight off the bat or from when you first started?
I had a go at shearing again after a 30+ year break. Here's a link if you'd like to check it out: th-cam.com/video/SnZ5nJvVWnw/w-d-xo.html

Cheers mate good to see you having a crack. The top side is something i have worked on after shearing with alot of Kiwis. I learnt bottom side before i started learning the top side becuse its important to be able to switch from one style to the other. It takes a bit of skill but it makes your last side alot easyer and quicker Also its only something i do if the sheep alow it.

      @@cfwsos You're welcome!
      I did enjoy trying again.
About shearing the top side, I noticed the Kiwis do that. It would sure make the last side easier. If I end up back in the game I'll try it. Regs Pete.

@@cfwsos And you still do t see the potential hazard.

Yes im quite aware of the possibility of me hitting it. It's just something i forget about taking off before i go to work and if i take it off at work than im likely to lose it. Also if i were to worry about all the potential hazards in a shearing shed i would never work, the shearing shed is just one big hazard.

@@cfwsos Yes, I’m very familiar with hazards in the sheds, I spent 25 years in the industry shearing throughout AU & NZ. We need to be diligent in spotting hazards and avoiding them as much as possible. I’ve known contractors to tell shearer’s to remove jewellery, rightfully so. Cheers
