Closing at 4pm is kinda ridiculous in my opinion, especially when compared to theme parks in other countries around the world that are often open all evening. It should be open until 6pm during off-peak, 8pm on weekends/peak terms, and then 10pm for Halloween season.
Ridiculous isn't it? Even bog standard working hours are 9-5, why not theme parks?? 10-4, even on a quiet day, isn't enough time to get everything done.
Ive never found it all they much of an issue with proper planning, I admit it's refreshing when you go to, say, Orlando and the parks are open til late but I think Alton Towers has a lot to contend with from the local area as well, so many unique restrictions, so it stands to reason that it would close early off peak depending on the number of visitors
One time my family was lining up for pizza and pasta and I didn’t wanna wait for 2 hours just to get in at lunch so me and my sis went on runaway mine train 10 times In a row
Great video. I would suggest adding to the list don't turn up late. The park is only open for about six hours on most days and is often relatively quiet in the morning. Early start means for fun in the park.
At 3:00 you mentioned Katanga Canyon. It’s even better to go there first this year, as Alton Towers have put a lot of money into the area. Edit: I think that Alton Towers should close at 5pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekends.
On the website it says that it's not valid for paid events, I'm guessing this means fireworks? That's really good though! Looking at upgrading this year!

I think its on purpose to make you stay 2 days instead of just 1

Ahh amazing! Much better than waiting in a big queue!
@@attractionsbeyond it’s the best feeling just going round the track calmly
@@attractionsbeyond thats what I said to my family 😂

Wow this video was good to know
That is always my tip, going midweek off peak is always the best time to visit. Most if not all rides are walk on or minimal queue time.
When we go to Alton towers we take packed lunches so we can eat in the queue for rides so that we don’t waste any time at all just sitting and eating
Great tip!
Main thing for me is early arrival. I like to get into Wickermans queue around 9.15-9.30 and get on one of the first trains of the day
Definitely a good idea! Getting the popular coasters out the way in the morning gives you more time to do the other rides the rest of the day!

Platinum gives you access for the paid events, by the way. It’s available for use every day apart from Christmas Day!

@@attractionsbeyond that’s weird. We got in fireworks just fine prebooking and scanning our platinum. Maybe that’s a hidden secret 👀
Looks like a great vid just about to watch it!
8:36 alr towers is off my bucket list then..
I always get on wicker man first I only queue for about 5-10 mins
We got Merlin passes this year, so hope to go a lot more
I only really had to wait 5 hours once since the wickerman was new and broke down every 5 seconds despite I'm a disabled pass holder
That's a very long time to wait!
going in 70 days! cant wait.
Have a great time!
Jeez 70 days YIKES I’d only know when there’s 2 weeks before I go
Excuse me, the ONLY day that the Platinum Pass doesn't cover is CHRISTMAS day, but the park isn't even open then!
i went to pizza and pasta and it was possibly one of the most underwhelming experiences of my life
Ahh that's a shame! Always been okay when we've been!
@@attractionsbeyond pizza was like cardboard when i went, sadly 👎
Didn't even know there was more than 5 things TO do at Alton Towers. LOL
Im platinum
Awesome!
@@attractionsbeyond thanks yours is really good aswell
In all fairness the awful bag checks always miss our mini bong so I wouldn't be too concerned about non-permitted items.
