Maybe I'm late to the party, could you create a tutorial for part designer and technic parts? I'm having a little bit of a hard time cutting and joining parts

There are custom parts you need to download that break the part down into segments. You can find it on the Studio LEGO Designers Facebook group.

    I have a Submodel.
Basically: Two Techic Liftarms, connected with pin. (and some other parts)
I want that submodel to: two other pins on my main model.
I want my submodel to hinge at its pin, while connecting to two other pins.
I get it fairly close using Hinge and connect, but I have to jump between the submodel and main model several times, using trial and error with manual numbers on hinge.

Hi I'm new to Studio and trying to transfer vertical gear to horizontal gear in the less height possible, maybe you have tricks as well is there an easy way to test gears in Studio or other software. Thank you videos are really interesting.

There are some tools available in LDCAD for testing gears, but not in Studio.

Hey there, I have a question- I tried using the method of marking certain areas in a brick, and then drag it to another marked point in another brick to attach them both, but for some reaosn, the axel is either entering less than what I want to the plus shaped hole of the other brick, or it goes deeper, and then it sticks out from the other side. Bottomline is, the dot attachment method, for some reason, is not accurate. Is there another way to connect two bricks in studio to each other without them "phasing" into each other? This problem didn't occured in the Lego Digital Designer program.
Also, is Studio 2.0 an update for the regular Studio program, or is it a new, separate program, that simply shares a lot of similarities with the first Studio program? If it's the latter, do you know whether or not the "phasing" problem I mentioned above happens in Studio 2.0 as well? Thank you kindly.

You can use the connect tool option, which will your issue. Here is a video showing how it works th-cam.com/video/17NTAZhdq2E/w-d-xo.html
Studio 2.0 is the newer version of Stud.io. I started with 2.0 so I have no idea if it is a separate program, but I would recommend updating if you have not done so, as there are many new features in Studio 2.0.

Great video's! I' ve watched a few now, very useful
I'm currently trying to get a design for the Millenium Falcon stands (google them, they're well designed BUT have all sorts of custom angles between the liftarms) in stud DOT io but the twisted/strange angles and connections between liftarms are giving me a proper headache. I'm struggling with the rotating function... Do I have to rotate every liftarm to a specific degree manually or is there a way to connect two liftarms flexibly?
Think of the problem as trying to create a triangle from 3 liftarms, with pins in the end holes, but I need the corners to be different degree angles and I dont know the exact angle...
I've tried the connect tool but that does not rotate liftarm 1 when I try to connect the last hole to a stud, nor does it rotate liftarm 2 that contains the pin I want to connect liftarm 1 to...
Is there any software that allows for "drag/rotate and connect"?

Unfortunately, yes you have to calculate or use good ole trial and error to make this work.

Hey there, so...I have another question- I have an older but more reliable than the current one version of the LDD program, and I've been building A LOT of stuff in it, up to 9 large files. Now...I've been thinking about downloading the current version of Studio to my computer as well, but I'm concerned that the computer won't be able to handle both the LDD program AND Studio together, and that all my LDD files will crash, and I won't be able to access them, since I can't download anymore the older version of LDD. From your experience, is it possible for windows 10 to handle large files of both LDD AND Studio at the same time? thank you.

TBH this depends on your hardware. Don't take my word for it, but I assume if you have a system with high enough RAM (at least 8GB) you should have no issues. I have no experience with the situation you are describing though, so take that into account.

can I toggle the light on/off so I can see it in my renders? Also is there a way to test pressing buttons and things to see if your mechanism works properly?

Hi Powz, unfortunately the functionality that you request is not available in Studio at the moment. I would advise you to go on the Bricklink Studio forums and make those suggestions :)

    • @i75gg
      @i75gg 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@PlaywellBricks I think they are referring to the fact that your brick selection is on the bottom of the screen, which is a lot bigger than when it is on the left side of the screen. (I mean the brick library. It's usually on the left side of the screen. Your layout is a lot better, but I don't know how to edit the GUI layout.)

Hey! Do you know how to do cable management for motors in Stud.io? Is there any way?

The best way to do that would be through LDCAD at the moment.
