- We've compiled a new educational video about the upper-air launches we do twice a day at our office in Rapid City, SD. We document the preparation of the radiosonde and balloon. 4 balloon launches are shown. One launch is on a calm day. 3 launches are during days with very strong winds (50+ MPH), 2 of which were done during blizzards.
