I highly recommend looking at the RF page where he has Rocketman on there and discusses fletching. It’s so deep I had to watch it more than once to comprehend what he says. Man is wicked smart and his data is very useful.
Are these pretty durable like most AAE’s going to prob switch away from AAE for the first time in 4 seasons since building arrows. I think this is what ill go with, and switching to a fixed head, from Sevr’s also
@@Orr_s they are durable. If they crease a little hot air brings them back. I will say in cold conditions they become brittle. Don’t shoot at the same spot and you shouldn’t have an issue
6 tac drivers vs 6 super sabers The tac matrix vanes were pretty loud, so far my dca's seem to be pretty good. Had a hard time getting them to stick correctly (didn't use recommended glue)
tac driver 2.75. quitest vanes your ever gonna put on your arrow. i got em in a left helical with the minimax. they fly straight an true an are super stiff as well.
Depending on if those are for hunting or TDD/MFJJ. If it’s just for TAC maybe try a small shield vane by AAE or something. Won’t be able to steer a broadhead but might still be good for longer range shots with field points.
3 Tac 2.75 right helical, 3 tac 2.75 left helical, 3 fobs, and 3 3fletch zinger right helical of your choice. Shoot groups at distance. See what the difference in group size and relationships to each other are. We need to know!
I’ve taken a dozen rip TKOs and did three fletch left helical and right helical both out of the minnimax with tac 2.50 and they hit exactly the same all the way out to 100 yards with a field point and I couldn’t tell a difference at all but testing them against some fobs with broad heads would be interesting to see at distances
3” X vein straight on vs right and left helical I think that would be super cool to watch how much the arrows displace when they rotate vs straight fletch
What I’ve been dying to see is a hard-core helical - Arizona mini max compared with a little 2 to 3° helical or just offset from like a Bitznberger - looking at arrow drop at long ranges - what is the cost exactly of huge arrow control on trajectory at 50-100 yards?
I’m interested to see which bare shaft tuning process gets the best results or if the more simplified arrow build/tune process is getting the same result as the overly complicated ones. I see Aron Snyder do his arrow building/tuning process and it’s super complicated and time consuming but he’s getting really good arrow flight and then I watch the ranch fairy who doesn’t make it overly complicated and it’s a much more simple process and he’s also getting really good arrow flight. This would be an awesome video. I’d do the testing myself but I don’t have all the equipment and money to do it right now.
If it's to TDD... Try a few with AAE pro max... I shot them last year for 3d and they were great. The seemed small but worked great... Would be cool to see how much (if any) the smaller vanes would have less drag at distance vs something like a max stealth
Might give the Bohning Heat vane a try. About the same profile of a max stealth but stiffer which will make it quieter. You don’t need any extra primer or anything, which is a plus. They also come in an American Flag design 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I shoot the tac drivers 2.50/ 4 fletch with helical to the left and they do pretty good with the iron will wides out to 60 yards, and with my fixed three blades and or mechanicals I’m getting a 8 inch groups or less on a good day at 100yards, i also had pretty much the same results with the three fletch, I just like the way it looks with 4 lol
Would love to watch a video on you testing out the ranch fairy kit!!! Shooting both spines with all the point weights through paper to see which weight is shooting the best out of your bow!!! 😊😊
I’ve been running the AAE MAX stealth for long time. There is nothing better in my opinion for a fixed Broadhead But you guys already been there done that
Tac 2.75 driver fletched max helix RIGHT if your bare shafts are coming off left. Accuracy compared to left helix short and long range, 4 right helix, 4 left?
Try longer vans like 4 to 5 inch. It will probably help them fly really strat and won't reduce speed by much, but will be worth it for a perfect arrow flight.
4 of the small 2.0 aae. Just built a dozen and they are amazing. I did a 6 fletch of the aae pro max prior and that was my go to for a few years for (Non broadheads)!
When you say no luck, what was the issue? Adhesion or durability. Was going to try those and get away from the AAEs for first time but theyre so durable and easy to fletch
@@Orr_s yes, adhesion was a pain regardless of primer pen, acetone or denatured alcohol. Tried on bare shaft and wrap. Finally had some luck with 2 but they took forever to dry. And they only lasted about 10 shots. I’ve had no issues like that with bohning or AAE. Also a few of my TAC vanes straight out the pack had bad cuts. Not trying to nock them because Levi don’t seem to have those issues but man 😂😅
@@rocknthamix ahh okay. Interesting. One thing thats a game changer is Bob Smith super glue. Especially with the spray after fletching. Also tipping and tailing. But ive had diff AAE vanes that have taken a beatingg multiple seasons and i only refletch because of cuts or tears. I find a wrap makes a difference but also i wanna get away from wraps this year because they add weight
In particular the one in the pink/red bottle. If you arent familiar with it or haven’t tried it deff give that stuff a go. Its amazing. Ill never buy another glue for fletching. And im using a Bitz which can be finicky for adhesion depending on helical and off set
@@Orr_s I couldn’t find that stuff anywhere near me at the time I remember hearing mfjj saying that too. But I did pickup some bohning fletch fuse and it works great too. Yeh I’ve enjoyed the AAE vanes so far.
I want to see someone run the AAE shield cut hybrid 2.0s in a four fletch with a slight offset. I’ve heard that you get much better performance in the wind and better distance out of them due to the smaller vane. It might not be a great configuration if you’re only shooting fixed blade broad heads but I think for a really solid expandable like a SEVR would perform well. Plus they would be great for 3D/target archery.
Build them all the way you had them then keep the best ones and strip the vanes off the others to experiment with and give them a face-off for best grouping.
Zinger Fletches 2.0; try 6 - 3 fletch 3 degree and 6 - 4 fletch 6 degree. I don't believe anyone in the Elk Shape group shoots them and it would be interesting to try something non-traditional. I have shot them the past few years and they work really well and are extremely convenient.
Four bohning air vanes would be sweet. Shorter with decent length. Quiet and I have had great flight with them. Looking to swithch to RIP TKO so I have a rat in this race lol
Vote on the vane selections you like best below (give them a thumbs up) and we’ll test! 🤙 - now go shoot your bow

2.75 Tac driver fletched with the mini max. They fly like darts, are super light. Make sure to use there primer pen to get them to stick

@@Eastcoastbowhunter sounds good. Thanks for the feedback
How do you get the spine lined up opposite of the cock feather? I’m having trouble getting it just right with this big of a helical
Super Sabre or Tac Driver 2.75 Both vanes need less helical according to the manufacture.
6 tac drivers vs 6 super sabers

I'm going with TAC drivers either 2.25 or the 2.75 vs super sabers by DCA
DCA Super Sabre vanes. Showed very impressive results with Broadheads and quiet flight.
I really like Tac Driver 2.75 by TAC Vanes
Try the tac vanes
TAC DRIVER 2.25 3 fletch with a mini max. Its what I run and its amazing! So quiet and only 3 grains a vain. Helps with FOC too!!!
Depending on if those are for hunting or TDD/MFJJ. If it’s just for TAC maybe try a small shield vane by AAE or something. Won’t be able to steer a broadhead but might still be good for longer range shots with field points.
It’s for TDD right now

TAC vanes are the way to go. Light and very strong. If you use the primer pen and recommended glue you might as well have welded them on.
3” X vein straight on vs right and left helical I think that would be super cool to watch how much the arrows displace when they rotate vs straight fletch
TAC Vanes Driver 2.25
Building rip tko’s too. I’d love to see how the super sabers fly out of them
tac vanes multiple different shapes, stiffer construction, test 3 and 4 fletch

Bohning X vanes 1.75” shield cut with left helical. 4 fletch on 6 and 3 on the other and compare
AAE wav or as many sub 2 grain fletching you can find.
(3) Silent night SK 300 w/helical or offset
Bohning heat vanes.. started using the heat vanes with the mini max jig arrows fly great!
Q2I Fusion X-II 2.5 4 fletch
Q2i fusion right helical?
I’m trying the Bohning x vane 3 inch this year in a 3 vane 3° to the left
Bohning x3 lower profile stiff vane very quiet steers very well.
tac driver in a 3 fletch or super sabres

Tac vanes! With extreme helical.
Tac Driver 2.25" or the DCA Super Sabre Vanes

Compare three left helical to three right helical.
See if you like the heat vane. And if you think it’s 2 short try 4 fletch

4 fletch!!!🏹🎯🤘
4 fletch aae hybrid 23's
bohning heat 3 vs 4 fletch, I know with my arrows and testing, my 4 fletch hit higher and grouped better than the 3 fletch, this was out to 80m
