From having watched the 1v1 series and now watching the 2v2 series so far, the thing to realise is that Flakes is a very clever guy - ultimately it’s a different kind of mechanics, rather than flashy :). Real fun to watch him dismantle opponents seemingly so easily. Flakes if you ever manage to do this in 3s it’ll be a miracle in my books
You said it perfectly. The players who do the wrong things but end up scoring or have more points at the end of the game and say you were doing nothing while in reality you're trying to compensate for their shitty decision making
Guy's really focus on how when he's on offense, he advances diagonally up the field in relation to where his opponent is. This does a couple of important things. 1. Creates a "threatening presence" on the field, that makes it look like you can outplay your opponent. 2. You present yourself like if they were to challenge, you would be able to defend the ball while winning the challenge. 3. Going diagonally from your opponent allows for more offensive options such as power slide cuts, bounce dribbles, etc... Also take notice that before he goes for any ball, he looks to see where his teammate is at on the field and whether he, himself, is a first man or last man. Like Flakes said "You always need a last man." Another important thing to take away from this is that at 15:57 he sees the opponent is hitting towards the net so he gets into a position to shadow the movement of his opponent and where the ball is going to end up. This is achieved by not moving past the goal line until he knows the shot (in this case - top right corner) will not be an option for the opponent to shoot. This way he can save the shot when it's placed anywhere in the net. Once he sees that option is no longer viable he judges where the opponent's hit is actually going and since he's moving with the ball straight across the net he can save the ball with ease.
Yup tue reasonnwhy I hate being a diamond people say I play like champ but no I can't get to that rank because people won't let me shoot they just ballchase and go off the wall do a simple 2 touch dribble in the air and think they are good at the game

Very good question, ask me sometime on stream what I think would be some mechanics that are simpler to learn and also very fundamentally useful/rewarding/efficient and I’ll show you. Turning crossplay back on, there's far fewer smurfs. Like absurdly fewer. It's just annoying being unable to talk to teammates, but it's worth it.
Haha love this episode, reminds me of when I main 1s in gold/platinum and so used to focus on possession and keeping track of my opponent, and when I go to into 2s, the majority of my teammates absolutely hate me for playing slow and tried to take over, even though no opponents are even close to the ball. This of course result in stupid goals conceded from teammate's bumps.
This is a great video and series idea! A lot of players (like myself) in the gold-diamond range get sucked into training packs that teach fancier mechanics like air dribbles and flashy aerials. Do you have any training pack suggestions or other training strategies that go against that trend?
Try faking direction changes / try finding out if your outplays aren’t to the side enough or if you’re doing it too late, you gotta figure out what mistake you’re making and then try to work on it to get better :) For bumps, after getting a touch to the side you can drive to the side / jump if you feel like there’s a chance of getting bumped, watch your replays where you make mistakes and find out whats going wrong & work on fixing it

Not related to this video at all but when I'm on walls my car automatically powerslides, ruining all my wall plays/important backboard clears/saves. Do you know how to fix this? Help a Dutch fan out🤣
Yeah I’m champ 3 with like 300~ hours and no mechanics besides like fast kickoff and fat arial you just don’t need mechanics to rank up if you have positioning and can hit the ball consistently
Best advice I ever gave on "how do you know when they are going to challege" WELL IF you were facing yourself at that point of time, what would you do?
the issue isn't that people can’t practice mechanics, its that people practice mechanics and then cry when they are stuck in diamond. I’m decently mechanical so I didn’t really have to practice chopping too much, but after watching the 1v1 series and incorporating it into my games, I went from C1 to C3 in two days. The series isn't about how easy it is to get SSL, it’s about how using your brain and not doing flashy mechanics the whole game will help you rank up faster. My new rule is, if I can’t hit the mechanical shot 95% of the time in Free Play, I’m not incorporating it into my ranked matches yet. It’s crazy how much easier ranked got when I played like I actually had a brain.

Bro this hurttttssss so bad I'm scream at him for you 😂😂😂😂😂 love your videos 💖
Bro...I'm Diamond and my lobbies are kinda cracked sometimes. It's not uncommon to see airbdribbles and very common to have lots of air play.
“Going up the wall is too hard until champ” stop the cap chat, ur jus bad, I was off the wall air dribbling in plat, all it is, is practicing mechanics, nothing, and I literally mean nothing flakes did takes a lot of skill in the entire video, I’m champ and I’ll tell everyone nothing he did takes that much skill, jus use your brains lol. Good video flakes, earned my sub
Love these videos bro! Would be great if you could upload a bit more consistently but can understand if not ☺
Lol he drove on the backboard and touched the ball and the whole lobby goes "what a save!"
Funniest thing was thinking you were safe for a moment because your teammate got demoed - but then you did, too.
First game was hilarious. Appreciate u Flakes
I know that even if i did exactly that i'd still fail
These videos are absolutely incredible holy
cant wait for 1vRLCS, looking forward to it
Ah, I definitely need to hold onto the ball and wait for them more. Thanks m8
Flakes but how do I flip!?!?!? its so hard!
Not related to this video at all but when I'm on walls my car automatically powerslides, ruining all my wall plays/important backboard clears/saves.
Do you know how to fix this? Help a Dutch fan out🤣
Waiting eagerly for 1600+ games
Yeah I’m champ 3 with like 300~ hours and no mechanics besides like fast kickoff and fat arial you just don’t need mechanics to rank up if you have positioning and can hit the ball consistently
Here's a question: do you have different camera settings for 1v1 than for other modes? Some people do, so I ask...
I do not :>
1 v 2 to ssl without mechanics.
He succeeds, then scrubkilla literally loses his mind.
Congrats Flakes! so glad to see you back on the competitive scene
