    A lot of pros end up getting to a point with these series of when they're giving tips where they aren't valid for lower players or they stop being able to give advice whilst playing. but you sir, are a legend!! always helpful tips AND entertaining! I think Jack and Leth are the only ones who are on par with the tutorial style of playing.

      Yeah. I liked Leths 2v2 series, but especially the 3v3... while his mechanics weren't crazy, you could see how things that seems simple to him were a little out of touch with the rank. Hard to explain exactly what. I just remember not liking the 3s series all that much.

Already sent a couple people here who share the same feelings and experience after watching your videos. Dude, seriously. You’re awesome. Thanks for helping me find joy in rocket league again. Flakes, I've gone from diamond 1 to champ 1 in about 100 hours of playtime thanks to your videos. They have changed my perspective on how I control the game. My mechanics that I worked on through plat are now usable to get simple outplays and good recoveries, and the occasional tough shot/save. I hardly use my mechanics and instead focus on efficient play and reading my opponents. I've been winning against champ 2s who try to ceiling shot and flip reset... Then they're out of boost and I can walk the dog straight into their net.

    Thank you so much for explaining this! It's important to remember that if you want to be pro, yes mechanics will be good. HOWEVER, even when you are going to pro, you will still be using the basics (this can even be seen in things like in the bible, other sports, and in school; there are other things that go along with this specific thing). Cheers for another vid!
    I think one thing that is often not obvious is the importance of playing in a way that focuses on getting the opponent into a worse position, instead of just trying to power through the opponent to score.
    - So often my instinct is to try and do one of these mechanics while approaching the opponent just to confuse them and hopefully score, but I'm better off just trying to get the opponent to waste boost or hard challenge so that they struggle more with recovery options, leaving me with more space to capitalize. I find the better I get at this mindset, the more it leaves me with what I know for sure is an open net, where I can then do any mechanic I'm comfortable with to score. I think this aligns well with what Flakes is teaching, but just isn't something that always makes sense right away.

    The one issue I have with these vids is the perfect control and decision making that we don’t have at these ranks, it simple what you are doing because you are at such a high mindset from playing so much high level etc, I fell a lot of ranks playing like this, trying to mimic what you do, and it sounds like I’m complaining but I’m just trying to get outta diamond

    • @FlakesRL
      @FlakesRL  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gotta figure out what you’re doing wrong, find the mistakes and work on finding the solution and thats how you improve, I’d recommend with starting to watch a replay and thinking of any giveaway of possessions / any unnecessary touches into opponent / missed boost grabs / risky challenges / giving opponent free space, there’s a lot to pay attention to, if you ever have a situation you need some help with feel free to ask me on discord or twitter 🤝

    I'm diamond 3 too and I share the same frustration of NEVER being allowed to slow play anything. My team mate will just come blasting in and punt the ball.
    At this level they also love to give possession back to the opponent despite being under no pressure.

      @Exsulator2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, take note. If flakes simulates ZERO mechanics in the air, he might get ball on target, but also take himself out of the game if the shot is saved. Flakes is showing us how to get out of diamond, and it's largely about playing risk-free. The lesson is, when you go in the air, you risk getting saved and now it's up to your (trash) team mate whether the opponents score or not.

    • @JmiahSahn
      @JmiahSahn 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Exsulator2 Nah, take notice: I'm more so commenting on the moments where he doesnt fly bc he doesnt think diamonds would've been able to hit the ball, not on times where he wants the other team to over commit or plans a low 50

    The double jump outplay is pretty good in diamond, I’m trying to learn to air dribble now and I’ll scuff my setup but still get it over one, sometimes I’ll try to put a lil sauce on it when I’m closer to the goal and go for a double tap but same thing, I’ll scuff my setup and it still goes in the net sometimes
