Are you the first one at typing from a prison cell? Do you have any friends who are not confined to your way of thinking? A prison cell and hell, is the mind of any man who refuses to live in the spirit of truth in peace and love for all fellow humans. All those who think they are better and greater than Jesus and also think they are the all of existence and life, above our true God to love and worship.

It's hard to believe myself better then someone I don't believe in, but if we are going there then yes, I'd say what Jesus did was a horrendous act. I never wanted someone to die for me. He didn't even die anyways according to the bible as he rose from the dead after a while. It's all really a horrifying story. Btw I've seen your comments all over the comment section, stop using "truth" as a bias standpoint. It's your truth and you have no right to call what others believe to be false unless you can prove it.

Do you really not find the example of the man being stoned for gathering sticks horrifying? If the Christian God is unchanging, why do some parts of the 10 Commandments not require punishment anymore? Like the observance of the Sabbath?

Yes I am funny and very happy in life, because i have learned through Jesus, not through Christianity or any other such religious practices, but through only Jesus alone, how to be better than self and therefore how to live in the spirit of truth in peace and love for all fellow humans. Where we are all fellow humans and exactly the same colour under the skin!
‘Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.’ - Jesus at Matt. 7: 13-14.

@Gaytony For the average non Judeo-Christian it doesn’t make sense, because God is not, in their minds, the omnipotent, omniscient, being that he is. The Sabbath was a day that God set aside for the Jews, that happened once a week, in which they would not work, and its purpose was so that they would meditate on God and pray to him. God made the law because relationship with him is one of the most important things ever for a Judeo-Christian; for us, if we don’t meditate on God, we will very much likely fall into sin and temptations, and that’s why God cares so much about us keeping the Sabbath.

As a scientist, I however, have arguments with Dawkins--but that is within the parameters of free debate: Dawkins, however can get Dogmatic in his scientific views--my arguments with Dawkins would be in science areas
He was as brilliant as Dawkins, and it was ONLY a mass of idiots that made their own BS Jesus.
If Jesus was alive today he would denounce utterly the God of the O.T, and all the liars and fictionalizers that made him into a Superman, when in fact he never did one miracle in his life. never organized a last supper, and that in fact there never was a eucharist ritual( lifted from Mithraism, in about 100 C.E) and NEVER said he would be crucified buried and be resurrected on the third day.Nor did he say a damn thing for creating a new religion, he for instance NEVER said to Peter you are the Rock on which I found the new church; That is a 100% premeditated lie put in the bible well after all the disciples were dead.
Dawkins, via his scholarship, knows all this, he attacks the lies build up around Jesus, but NOT Jesus , that is the Real Jesus
I agree Dawkins is > than the God the O.T , which thus includes the Houses orthodox of Judaism/Christianity and Islam.. Dawkins is a scholar of what he attacks and found Iconic Mythic Jesus is A Being Mankind Created but in FACT NEVER existed.
But one thing we do know The Real Jesus NOT once refers to his "god" as the Creator of Earth, and in saying" BELIEVE NOT in this Earth", he is denouncing the God of the O.T. that keeps ranting he is The Creator of Earth.
Jesus only recognized Nature, and felt both sorrow for it, and immense love for the innocent.
He never spoke of Original Sin,, and said to find godliness you MUST discover the seed of godliness first from WITHIN yourself and kneeling and worship, means nothing if you are not good within.
There is no getting around it, aside from the cry for justice, he was largely Buddhist in in his teachings. There is NOT a word here I have written in this post that that scholar Dawkins would dispute.

Zhuge Liang Sure: the law is perfect and true. The problem is that we (all people) cannot keep the law. We break it every day and this unfortunately separates us from God, who is completely pure and Holy. The point of the law was to make us aware of our sin so that we could turn to God for help. God loved us so much, that he sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place as an atonement for our (all people) sins. Jesus was raised from the dead, appeared to over 500 eye witnesses, and is now at the right hand of God, ruling over all creation. If we acknowledge before God our sins, repent of them, and place our faith in Jesus Christ by believing what He did for us on the cross, God has promised to send His Spirit into our hearts, which will change us completely from the inside out, so that we too can have eternal life. Please, don’t take my word for it. Test it for yourself. Read the gospel of John.

You said that it won't be possible to destroy Christianity but it clearly can be destroyed (as well as every other religion) if we (as humans) stop to brand our children with our believes. And every attempt to do so has to start with someone speaking words against it.
Without the brainwash it'll be easy to get rid of all religious believes. And it is brainwashing if we repeatedly tell our children that they are christians, they have to believe in gods and worship them. We christian babies without asking them if they even want to become Christians... and we can't ask them obviously because they are just babies. But that's exactly my point. If parents tell their children that we are all aliens from Mercury they will believe it as well as they believe in Santa Claus and everything else their parents tell them. And they have to because that's an essential part of the evolution. If young animals including young humans don't believe their parents and follow them blindly they will probably die (''don't go to the cliff'', ''don't eat that'', ''don't trust the Lion'', ''run whenever I run'' and so on).

And I'm sorry to inform you that the "boiling in milk thing" was only the tip of the proverbial iceberg! It should be made illegal to expose young children to religion, just as it's illegal to give them drugs. Let them grow up and choose what 'ity or ism' they want to believe in or not believe in, just as they do with voting rights, alcohol and sex. People conflate moral values with religion. The former can survive without the latter.

“What’s your occupation?” the minister asked.“I’m a professor of
astronomy. And what about you?” “I’m a pastor,” the minister answered.
The astronomer shifted a bit in his seat and then confessed, “I used to
attend church when I was young, but my wife and I don’t go very often
now. But the way I look at it, the Bible is pretty simple. It all boils
down to ‘Get along with your neighbors and stay out of trouble.’”
“That’s interesting,” the pastor noted. “I feel the same way about what you do.
For me, astronomy all boils down to ‘Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are.’”

All right, I'll do my best without Science to "disprove" the existence from the God of the Bible.. God was always there, he was the first being he created everything including things in Heaven. Gabriel (Satan) was an Angel, in which God created in which created Sin. Therefore, God created sin. In which he KNEW was going to happen as he also created time, so he knew what was going to happen. So, free will is just an illusion, it may feel real but it's not, because God knows what will happen. He is also the most powerful being in the universe, yet he does not show his "love" to everyone on Earth. So, God created sin, which sends us to Hell.. which God was sent down to to save us from going down into by killing himself. FUCK this doesn't make sense.

James Mac You are automatically assuming things here, you are putting words into my mouth. I never claimed to not believe in any of these things. I as an atheist do not believe in the god from the Bible, though I do not refuse the idea of a higher being that could have created the earth. Though, all of the evidence I've seen has pointed to natural causes. But, you don't need Jesus to help you in life. I am perfectly fine, and do not feel as if a "God-shaped hole" in my heart. You could say (As I am a musician) I fill this hole with music. That's not the case, it's not something I am addicted to or try to fill a hole, it's something I'm interested in and love to do, this is not the case. Teaching that people are automatically broken and NEED fixing is toxic, and frankly just isn't true. Now, please respond with a non-biblical response, as that is not going to prove you any more right than you think you are.
