- One of the highlights of our trip to Uzbekistan was to visit the grave of Imam al-Bukhari, the single greatest scholar of Hadith who ever lived.
Alhamdullilah I was honored to be granted access to the actual grave by the Mufti of Samarqand.
After making Du’a for Imam al-Bukhari, a lecture was delivered regarding his legacy. May Allah allow us to benefit from his legacy and may the ranks of this great Imam be raised even more for his service to the Sunnah.

Soekarno will visiting ussr in 1 condition, if nikita able to find imam al Bukhari tomb.

You will find this kinda strange ritual all over uzbekistan. Many masjids are attached to the graveyards. Especially in Samarqand.
Imam Boukhari masjid is one example. There are many more similar.
Central asia was under russian occupation for more than 100 years, and it had left strong footprint.
For most folks in this land islam is something symbolic. People do all kind of weird stuff, like reciting quran near grave and ask the soul of dead to help.. or tie up little rope on a tree and make a wish..
But islam is reviving gradually. We have more universities and colleges teaching islam. There are more and more young folks of knowledge. Alhamdulillah.
Prophet pbuh told us not to shape the grave .let it be levelled.

Understand that these places are built much later after a person has already died. Later generations will have to do something to the burial place as thousands and thousands visitors and tourists come to visit.

And give link know the biography of the 25 or 26 person featuring in the Isnaad so that we may appreciate the their contribution and envoke for them and be a part of legacy of Islam and hope by Barakah of this Hadith we may be forgiven and granted Jannah.
