@ArloStuff PLEASE HELP I cant remember the name of the book you recommended in a past squarespace ad, and I really wanted to try reading it 🥲 anyone who can help me thank you in advance ❤ all I can remember is it was a fantasy fiction novel and had something like crystal or mist in the name (and I don't even trust my memory with that much)
Would really like to hear you talk about Wario Land, since you said you wanted Wario Land when WarioWare: Move It! got announced, but then you said you weren't into 2D platformers when talking about Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
The funny thing is the original WarioWare's story was about Wario becoming a game developer and charging full price for these short micro-games because he's just being greedy. Wario was ahead of the curve in the gaming industry back in 2003.
It all comes down to whether you're into WarioWare/Rhythm Heaven-style games on whether or not you will like this game. As a longtime WarioWare fan since the first game on GBA, I am extremely looking forward to getting this on Christmas, but I am fully aware that these types of games clearly won't satisfy players who prefer "core" gameplay over "casual, party"-type gameplay.
OK, fair enough XD. I mean, I've also seen tons of WarioWare clones on mobile phones, such as Dumb Ways to Die, for example. If you're into that sort of game, then I think you'd really get into WarioWare.@@themc3140
I love rhythm heaven. I feel like warioware is more better suited as a party/multiplayer game whereas rhythm heaven is fine for solo play which is why I've never been a huge warioware fan
I agree, compared to Mario Wonder and Mario RPG, WarioWare is... just an acquired taste. Like you said, I love trying to figure out how to complete each microgame in the limited time I'm given as well, but I'm aware that people that don't have that type of patience won't like this sort of game.@@themc3140
Surprised Arlo was so excited at the prospect of what the Switch joycons could do and was disappointed by the one game that did everything they were capable of. Also, you HAVE to play with a friend. So good.
WarioWare is definitely that style of classic 'arcade mastery' game, where you do the same thing over and over, getting better each time, in an effort to beat your own records. The 'story mode' is essentially the tutorial for the rest of the single-player content. If you're not a fan of that (which it sounds like you aren't) then yeah, this franchise won't ever be your cup of tea.

yes. and most people don't understand it. never seen this series as a party game
The return of a "workout mode" like the WarioWare game on the Wii singlehandedly makes this game worth it for me. Videogames that make exercise fun while also giving you a legitimate workout are rare, and this game does an amazing job at it.
@@RobotacularRoBob Have played Ring Fit and can absolutely recommend! It's got parameters you set at the beginning that you can change at any time for how hard you want the exercises to be, you can choose which ones you do when (although there is of course some strategy to encourage you to diversify), the game will pause itself and remind you to take breaks and drink water, there's an option to have warm-ups and cool down stretches (which are tailored to what you've exercised that session!) that the game will guide you through, and it legitimately does make exercising fun! Only downside is needing to have the space to play with all the different poses- there are several yoga ones and a few lying-down leg ones that require a pretty large range of motion that I really don't have in my living room unless I move the couch every time I want to play. Wish there was a "limited space" option like the option it has for quiet running in case you need to be quiet while you exercise. Would recommend a yoga mat or the like if you don't have nice carpet, though.
Yeah but that’s a common reason to not buy Warioware My beef is that he didn’t like the visuals and the mini game style. This dude loves all of Nintendo’s aesthetic art, but one of its most stylized games doesn’t win him over? Kinda sucks, kinda sketchy Sure Warioware is a bit weird and it’s easy to fail if you get distracted, but that’s the point. And after the story, you always fail, to get a new high score. And you need to replay to even see all the minigames. The game itself could emphasize this more (“you have 50 mini games to unlock”) but it’s part of the fun even if it goes unstated
@@BruceWaynesaysLandBack Sorry for being two months late, but when did he say he didn't like the visuals? I specifically heard he liked that the art is very clean. Was your beef that he didn't go out of his way to fawn over them? When one has a negative impression on something, they're likely to forget a few positive impressions, so l wouldn't say he flat-out didn't like the visuals.
I think when he said grips, he meant the thing that connects two Joycon together to make a full controller. What you’re describing is the safety strap. Other than that, I agree! Also, Arlo’s comment about the straps potentially being ON the grips doesn’t make sense. Joycon accessories are made to attach to Joycons, not to each other. They do not naturally attach to each other.
@Dash123456789Brawl No. When he said 'grips' he was referring to the small plastic pieces which have the straps on them and bulk out the SL and SR buttons. You can remove the actual straps from them in the same way you remove the strap from a Wii Remote, which he has probably done because you don't need them for anything... except this game.
Getting the original WarioWare and WarioWare Touched for free on the 3DS as part of the ambassador program/My Nintendo is what turned me into a fan of this series. I wonder if Arlo tried a WarioWare without motion controls (ie, button or touch screen controls) if he would like it more. Get It Together might be more his speed, (though that game has weaknesses too). Also, an aside, but it BOGGLES me why Nintendo hasn't made WarioWare into a mobile game yet. Seems like a perfect fit. WarioWare Touched was basically a mobile game, before mobile games were even a thing. Real missed opportunity.
I was trying to respond to this thread, but TH-cam kept purging my replies. I will try again. The original WarioWare for GBA (Mega Microgames) was an exclusive 3DS ambassador program reward. WarioWare Touched could be acquired on the 3DS through My Nintendo for 1000 Platinum Coins. I am pretty sure this deal was ended when the 3DS eShop closed. So both were "free", in a sense that I got one by being an earlier adopter of the 3DS at the original higher market price, and the other with 1000 Platinum Coins. I would be remiss if I did not also mention that, nowadays, the original WarioWare is on the NSO GBA app, if you happened to have shelled out for the Expansion Pass.
As a Rhythm Heaven fsn its very hard for me to not see all of these games as like some of the best art and visuals Nintendo ever put into their games. Ko takeuchi is a legend. Playing even the most frustrating warioware leaves me gawking at the screen from how creative and fun they all are for me. But it really frustrates me when people gloss over the entire series as a Nothing side-game to... wario land. Couldnt ever get into them no matter how hard i tried. The overwhelming response of Ugh, another warioware? Is so frustrating. Theres truly nothing quite like it and saying that they Not only cant coexist, but that wario land should Replace it is Maddening to me. There are a billion 2d puzzle platformers. (Including way more fun ones like Klonoa)
Not to mention that WarioWare is developed by Intelligent Systems, while Wario Land was developed by Nintendo R&D1 until they dissolved in 2004, and Wario Land: Shake It! for the Wii was developed by Good-Feel. Getting a new WarioWare game has absolutely nothing to do with not getting a new Wario Land game. It all really comes down to whether Good-Feel ever wants to develop another Wario Land game, on whether Nintendo will approve of said game or not, or if Nintendo can find another developer, first or third-party, to develop a new game in the series. People really should research this stuff and use actual facts in arguments rather than falsely and rashly blame WarioWare for the lack of a new Wario Land game.
I recently completed Warioware GBA on NSO+ and had a blast. I'd recommend that to Arlo if he's willing to give it one more try. I had Smooth Moves on the Wii and felt the same way as Arlo because the motion control games feel less good to gain mastery of and hence less drive to complete. The simplicity of Dpad + A button in the GBA game lets them make games that are more intense and yet feel more fair.
I think the frustration is part of the fun, you see this shit and it overloads your brain with information and you end up losing, but when you see it again you have another chance to figure it out and get the game back. Some of my favorite minigames in this took me like 5-6 attempts to start beating consistently
I'm the same way. I get why Warioware games appeal to some people, but I just can't get into it myself. And it's okay to have a genre that you just can't connect with. What I really want, though, is a new Wario platformer. That would be awesome.
Warioware ‘Get it together’ might be a better pick for you then since it combines “platforming” (for lack of a better word) with Warioware, even though I hated that one. Move it is so much better, but to each his own.
I've played Warioware from the beginning. A lot of what makes it fun is getting better at the micro games, but the best part is playing with others, especially ones that don't really play games and laughing at each other over trying to frantically figure out what you're supposed to do in each game. Smooth moves and this one are especially fun with that because of all the different poses you have to do. Indo agree that $30 or $40 would be a nicer price though
Surprised Arlo was so excited at the prospect of what the Switch joycons could do and was disappointed by the one game that did everything they were capable of. Playing with friends is where all the replay value comes in. Feel like he didn't really give it a fair shake the way it was meant to be played. Ah well.
Arlo: Makes a 4 hour documentary of his love for Pikmin which limits how long you play. Also Arlo: Gets upset at an innovative party game meant to be played in short bursts with friends.
@robotacular9601 Yeah I like Arlo but if you have a platform like he does, I don't think "I didn't play it with friends or hold the joycons properly because I was feeling lazy" is a disappointing take to share with an audience that might consider playing it. Not that deep I know, but just odd.
This is the flaw of Arlo reviewing multiplayer games. Bro seemingly does not have any friends to play games with, so his reviews always have some clip that's like "man I wish there was more single player content, did I play the multiplayer, no"
@@RobotacularRoBob This is an issue with Arlo for every game that's designed for multiplayer enjoyment. Mario Party and the Mario Sport games in particular. While I agree that they could all use better story modes, the point of the games is multiplayer and so to criticize them so hard for being more multiplayer than singleplayer is just nonsense.
If you want to try more WarioWare definitely try Gold on 3DS if you can. Even more variety with different control styles (buttons, touch, tilt) a ton of extra content and, like this game, fully voiced cutscenes with Charles Martinet going all out as Wario. It's great stuff
I'm a big WarioWare fan. I think this game has three key issues that hold it back from being one of the best. 1. The lack of side content unlockables akin to what was seen in a games like Twisted and Gold. There are poses to unlock and unlocking every microgame is still fun, but the game could have so much more longevity if there were just more things to work towards. 2. The motion controls are just not perfect. I can still get good scores but there are times when I feel 3-4 of my hearts are lost solely because the game didn't recognize my inputs correctly. It's not actually as big of a problem as you might expect, but it happens enough it's still worth noting. 3. This is apparently a pipe dream at this point, but WarioWare would benefit so much from a real online mode. Imagine a 16 person lobby where you just see who can last the longest. There are plenty of other great options and you could also implement asynchronous multiplayer in some ways too (even Wario Cup in GiT was a cool option to have). I just don't get why not, it's such an obvious game to add it to since it will inherently have a lower amount of content than many games. I still would recommend this game for WarioWare fans, though I agree it should be $10-20 cheaper. Not sure if it's better or worse than Get it Together. Haven't played multiplayer at all yet but what's included looks good. Overall a decent entry in the series and definitely not the best (and fwiw I think Smooth Moves is overrated too)
I really never had a problem getting the motion controls to work. They’re a lot more precise than other motion-based games I’ve played, but that’s what makes them work great if you’re able to acclimate.
I wasn't keen on the new Wario voice at first but I'm generally fine with it. It is different, but I think also this voice is best suited for speaking sentences so if we need Wario to say more complete thoughts I can be fine with it
Warioware Touched solidified my love for Warioware, but after playing three of them, new Wariowares haven't really added anything for me. I revisit Touched, GBA one and Smooth Moves from time to time so guess I'm just set for life with all the Warioware I need. I played Touched in elementary, so for kids of today this will probably be what Touched was for me. More power to the series and those who still enjoy it!
@@yololthepikminenjoyer I agree slightly, I suppose. It's odd that there are no achievements, for example. But for me, I like to make it to the third boss microgame of every stage so that's what keeps me busy.
I liked the ones you'd play portably, like the GBA one and Gold on the 3DS. The idea that I have to play this one with motion controls though sucks the fun out of it for me.
@@tountoes1677 Gold is still my favorite for sure. Motion controls aren't for everyone, but I think they are on the whole very responsive and fun in this game. Same for Smooth Moves on the Wii.
“MOVE IT” is WAY better than WW: “Get it Together” which has a far more frustrating platforming gimmick that makes it ‘too easy’ and harder all at once. The last one felt like trying to play Warioware Touched on an emulator with a controller instead of having a touch screen. In fact Switch has a touch screen so even a sequel to Touched would have been better than ‘Get it Together’. The motion controls in this new one make it feel like an actual modern sequel to the wii game which ain’t a bad thing. Smooth Moves, Twisted and Touched were the best ones in the series, so this feels like a “Return to form” while utilizing the variety new switch features and is a vast improvement to the last one by a long shot.
WarioWare Smooth Moves was one of my favorite games in the Wii. Then WarioWare Keep it Together came and I had so much fun playing with my friends. Looking forward to game nights with them now with Move It
I think games like this lend themselves better to playing them with a group of people. Even then, I think they're probably more appealing to a younger crowd. Because, as you said, some of the forms you gotta take, like doing squats, are not gonna be as easy or enjoyable for someone older.
The thing about the short length of Warioware games is that the first run through the microgame sets is essentially a tutorial (which is also why they were still introducing new poses up to the end). The sets don't even function the same way after your first run through, since they conclude after beating the boss stage once, and in Move It specifically, giving you an extra four lives if you run out (I'm told). Ever since Gold, the games have included a list of missions that are essentially "post-game" goals, which are where a lot of the content lies (Get It Together also has the Wario Cup, which unfortunately locks a lot of challenge runs behind a leaderboard system, such that you have to keep checking in each week for a year in order to unlock every challenge variation). I'm playing Smooth Moves while waiting for my copy of Move It to arrive (got it on discount, but with a long shipping delay, and a JP region box), and while I'm enjoying it, I can totally get how an unituitive or otherwise unresponsive control scheme could utterly ruin a lot of microgames. Thus far, none of my runs have been totally ruined by it, but a few microgames (particularly those in Smooth Moves' "Pepper Grinder" pose) still have me confused as to how I was meant to approach them physically.
My problem with Move It though is that it does the thing the other games do where that first run is basically a tutorial, but then it's not really a tutorial for anything since there's no single player content after that. Play through the story mode and then play each stage one more time to see the couple extra games you didn't get the first time and then you've pretty much done everything you possibly can in single player.
Well done for at least giving it a proper go, Arlo! This is pretty much how I feel about Elden Ring etc - I can see what other people enjoy in them, but I just get very little enjoyment out of them personally. And that’s fine! Not everyone needs to love everything!
Ok. I just recently played this game and finished it and I have to say. As someone whose first truly first warioware game is this one... I had a really good time with this game. I think I may just find a new favorite franchise for me to consume. I did play warioware for the gamecube when I was a kid, but I didn't really remember it since it was a long time ago. Warioware Move it! is a game that I just wanted to try since I was a bit curious. I expected it to be above average at best. However I find myself legitimately entertain by it. It was fun, short, and snappy. I had the opposite reaction of yours. I feel like it ended when it needed to and playing quick micro minigames where you have to guess on the fly on what to do just appeal to me for some reason. I like the variety of art styles leaving me unexpected as what was gonna come next. I think I may have to try the other ones now.
This is the kind of game where the real fun comes from playing with other people and watching each person do the ridiculous poses. Smooth Moves on Wii did this and it was hilarious.
I think it's the other way around, the appeal is figuring out the game in the like 2 seconds you get. for me, it's really fun not knowing what's going on. and when you do figure it out in 2 seconds, it's really satisfying. I personally think the game is less fun once you know how the game works. an analogy to me is like, it's the same excitement of exploration, but instead of exploration of a world like totk, it's exploration of a game design concept
9:28 inb4: How dare you insult Zhongli like that!!! “I will have order!!!” (Arlo gets crushed by a meteor that’s bigger than his sound proof Boulder that he lives under)
I totally see why you wouldn't like this game, and I do agree that the pricing is really absurd, considering we already have a different Warioware game on the Switch (being Get It Together if anyone remembers that game's existance), but I personally had a great time with it. I play Warioware for the ridiculousness of it all, the super fun (to me) minigames and the characters. I think the characters of Warioware are some of the best in the Mario series, they are all so damn charming and fun! A TV show with them would be so good. I also like that this game takes the same gameplay approach as Smooth Moves for the WII, which is my favourite Warioware game. Motion controls highten the fun and absurdity to me, which is why I have a blast on Smooth Moves any time I replay it, and having a sequel to a game a play to death from my childhood just makes me happy. I'm glad this game exists because of it's connections to Smooth Moves alone, honestly. I do think Nintendo should do something different with Warioware and it's characters, however, considering most games are basically the same at this point. Maybe a new Wario Land featuring all these guys would work? Who knows... Overall, not the most important and flashy game out there, but I would recommend it to someone who enjoys Warioware if they have 50 moneys to waste.
The first Warioware just blew my mind, especially on that pocket GBA that looked like a classic NES. I don't think the series has hit that height again, but I hold out hope
I think it’s a kind of game you can’t really enjoy by yourself i didn’t liked it untill i played with a bunch of friends we had a lot of fun but as a solo experience it leaves a lil something to be desired i think
The home console wariowares have a different structure oddly enough, focused on local multiplayer. The handheld games are purely solo experiences with more collectibles and minigames to tinker with, Gold has one multiplayer mode but that's about it
I disagree with that. I'm born of the arcades, so the whole "beat the high score" motivation is more than enough for me to play the game. As someone who enjoys games like StarFox, Galaga & Time Crisis, this game does scratch that itch.
You should give Spookware a try. It mixes microgames and an engaging story together very well and it's pretty cheap (not all chapters of the story are released at this time though).
WarioWare is very short story-wise, but the real value is the replay value, you can put it on every once in a while, especially with friends, and have a blast every time
WarioWare is absolutely a game you need to have grown up with to get. WarioWare D.I.Y. was one of the most influential games of my childhood and I think WarioWare Smooth Moves is one of the best Wii games of all time, so of course I loved the game. What's unfortunate is that this game has so much multiplayer emphasis, so it falls into the same pit of Pikmin 3 Bingo Battle where no two fans of the series live within 10 miles of each other.
I can definitely see how a motion-based WarioWare game would give you an especially hard time. I'm a big series fan, and even I didn't really get into Smooth Moves back on the Wii, because I kinda perceived switching between poses as annoying. I wonder if the simpler WarioWare games (like WarioWare DS or WarioWare Inc.) would actually give you a better time. Though I guess most of your issues regarding mini game collections would still stand. The way I see it, WarioWare has always been a franchise for people who're just looking for some quick a dirty fun inbetween. Like a little snack before lunch. None of the games are terribly long, but they're always incredibly funny and silly, so they have a ridiculous amount of replay value. No replay will last you much longer than like a couple of hours, though.
I loved this game. It is much better than smooth moves for the wii. Had some friends over the last two weekends and had a blast. we are also sore from moving around
Agreed. Smooth Moves was great on the wii and using 2 joycons instead of one wii remote makes good innovations that make it feel fresh and like a true sequel to the wii game.
I view Warioware as a multiplayer party-style game, in the same genre as Mario Party. I love it... With friends. Solo doesn't do much for me either, because confusion and chaos is only fun in a group.
The meat conveyer belt game was bad and is something I never want to play again. But aside from that, as a Smooth Moves fan I just love that this exists
I figured out that when you “flip” the joycon, it has to stay flipped over until the next item needs to be flipped with that hand. Works well once you figure that out.
This is probably the worst pick you could make trying to get into WarioWare, aside from maybe DIY. Most of the other games have all the charm and creativity without the controls getting in the way. WarioWare Gold is definitely the best in the series, as it does a lot to remix the returning microgames, easily has more content than any other WarioWare, and avoids the pitfalls of Move It's controls. It might be my favorite 3DS game. I understand the overall WarioWare formula isn't really suited for the Arlos of the universe, but Gold is arguably the entry where it's easiest to appreciate why others love WarioWare.
Yeah that'll do it to ya, its definitely an acquired taste. As a WarioWare veteran who absolutely loves the series, I will say you are DEFINITELY not alone, it takes getting used to, but its worth it and I would heavily recommend trying out some of the other games in the series if you're interested. Move It is practically a sequel to Smooth Moves on the Wii, so if you played that it might make more sense overall.
You're not alone, Arlo! I've always felt this way about WarioWare games. I got the GBA one through the 3DS Ambassador program, and that was the only way I gave it a chance, and I had the same sentiments about that one. I miss the days where Wario had his own platforming series.
The best wario ware games are either the first one remade for GameCube or the wii one. The fantastic thing about the GameCube one is that it is the longest campaign allowing you to play the same levels with changes, harder difficulty, faster speed and longer difficulty.
You're allowed to not like things Arlo, and anyone who says "You shouldn't review a game in a genre you don't like because it will hurt the Metacritic!!!" is an idiot
As a longtime Warioware fan Move It doesn't really do it for me. Wasn't a fan of the motion control stuff in the Wii game and still not interested now. I personally highly recommend any of the DS or 3DS Warioware games to get the true Warioware experience with my favorites being a tie between D.I.Y. and Touched.
I can definitely agree that $50 is a bit steep for this kind of game, but I'd still strongly encourage you to try out the multiplayer modes sometime -- maybe with your nephew or some other family members. Whether you're doing the co-op modes or the party modes, I'd argue that's where most of the value and fun are -- the hectic pace and physicality of it all just lend themselves really well to a group setting and generally make any potential frustration from failure funny instead.
You have NSO, right? The first WarioWare is on there. You should try that one out. It's purely button controlled and I feel like the microgames are more intuitive. If you already have NSO then you might as well give it a try.
Arlo’s tales are always SO weird. He’s complaining about not getting. The games and having to figure them out at a moments notice? That IS the game. I’m not saying you have to like it, but he seems oblivious to that BEING the game.
I recommend playing the whole series. If you have the Switch Online Expansion, the first game in the series (GBA) is already there. I love Move It, but it's oddly the lightest as far as extra content goes. They usually have way more.
I feel like this kind of game only works on a handheld. Playing a bunch of crazy mini-games on the train is something I can imagine doing a lot more than standing in front of my TV playing them. The concept was perfect on the DS imo
Only warioware game i played was gold and i liked it a lot, but i would NEVER pay 50 bucks for a game like this, the only exception is rhythm heaven bc i adore that franchise too much
There is a growing sentiment online that a game needs tons of "content" to justify its price tag and I just really don't agree. Playing the story mode once through is like playing each level in Super Monkey Ball until you beat each a single time in practice mode and thinking that's all the "content" for the main game. I just think a lot of modern gamers don't appreciate arcade style titles. That being said, complaining about janky motion controls is always justified.
I feel like worth is so subjective when it comes to games. If you're not a fan of something and only end up spending a few hours on it, that 50 bucks seems like a lot. But if you love it and spend dozens or hundreds of hours on it, then you're getting your money's worth regardless of the actual quality or length of the game. Unfortunately that's not really a viable metric to determine what a game's price tag should be.
people say warios new voice actor but at least for german he got dubbed together with the entire crew so i couldn't say if there was a change. i wonder in how many languages this of all things got dubbed to
Funniest yet most incredible thing happened to me yesterday, I'm in the middle of a move rn so I ended up finding not one but TWO games I thought I had either sold or lost. Wario Ware Smooth Moves for Wii, and TMNT 3 for GameCube! I still can't believe it!
One thing I’ll say is I think this game is more fun with more people. The way 2 player is integrated is super cool and there were times my girlfriend figured out how to do a game I didn’t (and the other way around too). But like you said it comes down to whether you like this kind of thing or not. I loved smooth moves and this felt like a revisit of that (I enjoyed this much more than Get It Together), so I really liked it. But I totally understand why this isn’t for you
I mean the game really was fantastic. I usually love Arlo's take on things, but this one was really not indicative of how the game plays. Kind of disappointing he didn't really give it a fair shake from the get go. Oh well.
The "hand model" games are the only ones that consistently give me a hard time. Specifically the one where you catch the frisbee. Everything else works great for me. 👍
Hand model DOES have the most frustrating microgames but the ones that never worked for me were ones where I had to hold up fingers. Always looked like a blurry blob on screen.
One of the appeals of a new Warioware, in general, is having to figure out and adapt to a microgame using nothing but the 1- or 2-word instructions and the controls available, fast enough not to fail since you only have a few seconds. it’s consistently something new. However, i can see how motion controls might make it much harder to figure out. with most games in this series if you do the right thing you get immediate feedback, and that little dopamine hit, but with motion controls i can easily see getting feedback where you have no idea what you did right or wrong, especially with misunderstood inputs and not having everything you need i really think a game which relies on button controls like the original or something like Touched where you know it’s always the touch screen would be a better fit, like you’re still figuring it out, but you know it’s within certain parameters.

True lol. Makes me want to try ring fit adventure after playing it and seeing the related microgame.
I eas wondering if this game would have a mode like that, I might end up asking for it for christmas since I really need more exercise lol
@@RobotacularRoBobRing fit is such a fun game.
I'll probably be returning in between Ring Fit sessions for a bit to play the Megagame Muscles mode. It's fun, goofy, and the song is amazing
Arlo: I’m ✨frugal✨
Also Arlo: *Buys 40 boxes of starlink*
Yeah but that’s a common reason to not buy Warioware
My beef is that he didn’t like the visuals and the mini game style. This dude loves all of Nintendo’s aesthetic art, but one of its most stylized games doesn’t win him over? Kinda sucks, kinda sketchy
Sure Warioware is a bit weird and it’s easy to fail if you get distracted, but that’s the point.
Can’t believe the amount of fun I’m having playing this with my wife in our living room. The rooster pose is so ridiculous lol
Same here. My girlfriend generally is judgmental of gaming , but she really likes this one, Suika and AC.
@@TH-camChannel-iq5to
For which video game does AC stand? Assassin's Creed? Animal Crossing?
Animal Crossing. Assassin's Creed would be a big no-no haha @@Sideqazxsw
Same! I played this through with my wife and we had a blast - lots of laughs and we got a good workout to boot.
Really like the clips of you playing the game. Would love to see more of that whenever it's possible

the humor in these games is also very japanese. lots of goofiness and slapstick and pure pacing that i feel are gonna hit different culturally
8:52 Arlo if you play literally anything with one joycon or joycons in separate hands, the grips make them INFINITELY more comfortable.
I think he was referring to Death Grips.
@@alfiehicks1 Hm, you may be right, but if so Arlo is using the name of an entirely different Joycon accessory to the one he was talking about.
@@alfiehicks1are you stupid?
Real missed opportunity.
...Tuched was part of that ambassador thing? I don't remember any DS games being a part of that, just GBA...
@@Joeynator3000he put ‘my Nintendo’ there as well so I assume it was a my Nintendo reward at some point.
I didn’t get them for free
WarioWare gold would be a perfect starting place.
Facts. Both great game series in their own right, and the town is certainly big enough for the two of them
Not to mention that WarioWare is developed by Intelligent Systems, while Wario Land was developed by Nintendo R&D1 until they dissolved in 2004, and Wario Land: Shake It! for the Wii was developed by Good-Feel.
It's like a carnival game, you mess up but ey one less dollar and 10 seconds of your life aren't going to kill you.
I'm the same way. I get why Warioware games appeal to some people, but I just can't get into it myself. And it's okay to have a genre that you just can't connect with. What I really want, though, is a new Wario platformer. That would be awesome.
Agreed
I’ve been trying to get my hand on Wario World FOREVER
I really admire the dedication!
Bro seemingly does not have any friends to play games with, so his reviews always have some clip that's like "man I wish there was more single player content, did I play the multiplayer, no"
He states multiple times his controls straight up weren't working. That has a big impact on someone's experience.
Original title was: "WarioWare: Move It! is not my thing and that's okay."
Overall a decent entry in the series and definitely not the best (and fwiw I think Smooth Moves is overrated too)
Talking about online multiplayer made me think of how amazing a WarioWare 99 would be!
I really never had a problem getting the motion controls to work. They’re a lot more precise than other motion-based games I’ve played, but that’s what makes them work great if you’re able to acclimate.
I love the clips of your actual reactions to playing - would love to see that in videos more often
LOVE the Arlo gameplay audio supplementing the review. Very charming to hear your genuine first impression.
I wasn't keen on the new Wario voice at first but I'm generally fine with it. It is different, but I think also this voice is best suited for speaking sentences so if we need Wario to say more complete thoughts I can be fine with it
It's not bad.
The sonic movie traumatized arlo. Now he's too afraid to say he doesn't like something.
Cancel Culture fault.
@@TinyGuy97 No that's just the Sonic Fandom, you either have to love the product to death or not say anything about it at all
Warioware Touched solidified my love for Warioware, but after playing three of them, new Wariowares haven't really added anything for me. I revisit Touched, GBA one and Smooth Moves from time to time so guess I'm just set for life with all the Warioware I need.
I played Touched in elementary, so for kids of today this will probably be what Touched was for me. More power to the series and those who still enjoy it!
WarioWare Move It!! is exactly my thing and that’s okay
green arlo
This feels like a Sequel to Smooth moves in all the right ways. I really enjoyed the motion controls and they seemed to work better than Wii’s.
That's ok, Arlo. As someone who LOVES WarioWare, though... This is a really good one. Having a blast with friends too.
well... the lack of side content definitely drags this one down
@@yololthepikminenjoyer I agree slightly, I suppose.
I thought those human hands were Arlo's for a second and everything came crumbling down. but it's just Kane, carry on as normal
WarioWare Smooth Moves was one of my favorite games in the Wii. Then WarioWare Keep it Together came and I had so much fun playing with my friends. Looking forward to game nights with them now with Move It
One armed puppet not into games best played with lots of motion. I’m shocked.
1:23 I wonder if Kane is the only human being who is employed by a monster.
I think games like this lend themselves better to playing them with a group of people. Even then, I think they're probably more appealing to a younger crowd. Because, as you said, some of the forms you gotta take, like doing squats, are not gonna be as easy or enjoyable for someone older.
15:25 Why is mad Arlo so fricking adorable?
The "--do aNYTHIng" got me good
The thing about the short length of Warioware games is that the first run through the microgame sets is essentially a tutorial (which is also why they were still introducing new poses up to the end).
Smooth Moves on Wii did this and it was hilarious.
its super replayable. thats the appeal of it.
Massive props to Kane for the Wario Land Shake It music
I'm not into WarioWare either, but i might get this one as a party game
I think it's the other way around, the appeal is figuring out the game in the like 2 seconds you get. for me, it's really fun not knowing what's going on. and when you do figure it out in 2 seconds, it's really satisfying. I personally think the game is less fun once you know how the game works. an analogy to me is like, it's the same excitement of exploration, but instead of exploration of a world like totk, it's exploration of a game design concept
I really don't think I'd enjoy the single player, but I love playing this in a party setting
warioware gold is packed full of content!!!
sadly not a lot of people played it compared to the others I think
9:28 inb4:
How dare you insult Zhongli like that!!!

Overall, not the most important and flashy game out there, but I would recommend it to someone who enjoys Warioware if they have 50 moneys to
waste.
"I don't feel like playing the multiplayer in a multiplayer game because I'm lazy"
These games usually last like 2 hours for me but it's the most fun 2 hours I possibly can have in a game. It's concentrated fun!
At least he actually played one, so when he complains about Wario Ware on Switch 2 he actually knows what he's talking about.
I like it. I’m nostalgic for Smooth Moves, so that experience is fun.
15:00 Powerhouse!!! Raymond Scott = the god
Literally the exact second I opened the game, thinking “I should probably get back into this,” I got the notification for this video
The clips at the end of this video were by far the best part. More Arlo Clips on the main channel!
"I am cheap. I am frugile."
Says the Arlo that purchased how many copies of Starlink: Battle For Atlas again?
All you said made me want the game more, good job.
The first Warioware just blew my mind, especially on that pocket GBA that looked like a classic NES. I don't think the series has hit that height again, but I hold out hope
The Gameboy and Wii ones were amazing. So many fond memories of the Smooth Moves multiplayer.
I think it’s a kind of game you can’t really enjoy by yourself i didn’t liked it untill i played with a bunch of friends we had a lot of fun but as a solo experience it leaves a lil something to be desired i think
Idk is this game that different than the single player wariowares? People love those
The home console wariowares have a different structure oddly enough, focused on local multiplayer.
They should really make a Warioware mobile game
> who has straps
Who doesn't?? Where'd they go?
That "Sorry, thought I heard something" joke at the start REALLY got me.
I had a great time with the multiplayer. Way better than the smooth moves multiplayer in my opinion.
I love Arlo's reccomendations so much. He's almost always right. WD-40 is awesome.
The meat conveyer belt game was bad and is something I never want to play again. But aside from that, as a Smooth Moves fan I just love that this exists
I figured out that when you “flip” the joycon, it has to stay flipped over until the next item needs to be flipped with that hand. Works well once you figure that out.
@@RobotacularRoBob THANK YOU I have been trying to figure that one out for a while.
This game really shines if you have a friend to play it with.
Bit weird the record-chasing kind of thing is not his thing when Pikmin is mostly about that.
Its a game that makes you smile and laugh at yourself. 10/10 fun for my whole family.
I was going to say, this seems like the perfect game to have Arlo’s nephew guest-host on!
You have NSO, right? The first WarioWare is on there. You should try that one out. It's purely button controlled and I feel like the microgames are more intuitive.
If you already have NSO then you might as well give it a try.
only on the expansion pack
Only warioware game i played was gold and i liked it a lot, but i would NEVER pay 50 bucks for a game like this, the only exception is rhythm heaven bc i adore that franchise too much
I literally just used WD-40 before I opened YT to see this!
I love the clips in between, hope well see more of em in other reviews!
It’s weird, whacky and goofy which is why I love warioware Nintendo needs to give us a collection of all warioware games on one cartridge like Mario
Of course Arlo, you can’t love everything and you can’t hate everything. I love Warioware move it. You don’t have too.
Man this video is such a bummer
people say warios new voice actor but at least for german he got dubbed together with the entire crew so i couldn't say if there was a change. i wonder in how many languages this of all things got dubbed to
Arlo not using the grip and strap is WILD!
But I totally understand why this isn’t for you
Warioware is like mario wonder/mario rpg for me. If they sold it for $20, it'd be a "must buy". But...
Thank you for reviewing this Arlo. I thought about getting it but review was definitely necessary!
However, i can see how motion controls might make it much harder to figure out. with most games in this series if you do the right thing you get immediate feedback, and that little dopamine hit, but with motion controls i can easily see getting feedback where you have no idea what you did right or wrong, especially with misunderstood inputs and not having everything you need
i really think a game which relies on button controls like the original or something like Touched where you know it’s always the touch screen would be a better fit, like you’re still figuring it out, but you know it’s within certain parameters.
As someone with multiple people in the house that work different times and sleep schedules. WD-40 helps a bunch. To keep things from squeaking throughout the house!
12:52 HOLD THE PHONE JUST A DARN MINUTE CRACTUS IS IN THE GAME?? WHAT???
