Please help I know how to replace the laser on my ps 3 after other tutorial videos and already have the damaged one carefully removed But upon searching online I see new replacement Lasers advertised but none of them match my code on the back of the deck there is not even code on the laser unit itself so do I take a chance on one of these adverts for a PS3 super slim Laser or does it definitely have the matching codes - to that of my removed Laser and the one that I may decide to take a chance on in the add ?
My slider broke I just ordered a white case from eBay and this video is hopefully going to help replace the PS3 into its new housing. So the WiFi attena does not need to be unplugged if ur just replacing the entire unit into a new housing.

I dont know the names of each part, put my dad took our ps3 apart and I believe he misplaced a very small piece. it turns on, but the white thin wire on the disc reader is supposed to be plugged into a slot right?
When assembling it back, the man got the white and black wire(WLAN and BT) mixed, the white should be on the right socket and the black on the left. If you go back in the vid, you'll see that when he dissasembled the PS the white was on the right. Hope that will help smbdy. Captain out. "flies away"
my room is kinda dusty so expect to get dust in 3-9 months time which is usually the same time to replace the thermal paste if being used regularly " 3+ hours "

+★ X-GHOST_NICOLE-X ★ I had the same problem with ps3 after changing the thermal paste, in my case it was my HDD that wasn't connected properly. Try plug it out and back in.

it was ok but not the most helpful of guides-you skipped the fan entirely and putting the exterior back together and you went too fast so we couldn't see all the details on how everything is supposed to look
At 6:55 -6:58 the screen changes...when your puling the negative and positive ..if you notice the first screen the positive (white) is up top and negative (black) on bottom ..then the screen changes or skips, whatever happen, for some reason the negative up top and positive is at the bottom ...the point of this is, I'm guessing I got them mixed up and fried my ps3 cuz it no longer turns on. :( fml
Umm. I don't know how the tell you this now, 3 years after and all but those two cables on top right corner are not "the negative and positive" but only the antenna cable connections for wifi and bluetooth :DDDD

great video but you reassembled the wlan and bt wires the wrong way. the white cable goes on the wlan and the black one on the bt socket.
So if I put them opposite way does that mean I fried my ps3? Cuz it doesn't want to turn on anymore

when you put everything together again you misplace the BT and WLAN wires (black and white ones) and that can make the ps3 cooler fan go "turbo" mode.
I thought I was the only one that caught that. Glad someone else is paying attention.

I came here to see how to replace the fan but you did not take the fan out. Full disassembly should invlude removing the fan too.

my ps3 when i put disk it wont read i have to try at least 10 minute put disk in and out so it can read it
