My father had an Oliver 60 that he used on his farm during WW 2. I still remember the shift pattern on it and hand cranking it.

Removing manifold fasteners is not a job for the feint of heart. Heat, patience, and penetrating oil rein supreme in the struggle lol. Lookin good Ross, now if the carb will perform in unison with its companion part from across the pond the 'ole 60 will growl again.

New Nelson muffler, that's a definite plus! Recently broke a stud taking the manifold off the new to me Farmall 450, about a thread and a half down. Head wound up in a buddy's mill, got it out then found a couple cracks, great! Kindred spirits I guess, you're not the only one who sadness visits on a regular basis. Wasn't too concerned about you sending the 60 to scrap, not really your thing!

Those things should be called WO-Manifold because if you do not have the correct nuts it will just not work well.
I used to carry Furnace Cement in my toolboxes. A little smear around that muffler inlet and it would seal. It worked to seal holes in those manifolds well enough to get by long enough to get a new manifold and schedule the repair. I doubt if one can find that stuff anymore. Whoever cast that manifold simply used a good manifold as their pattern. The reason the bolts do not line up is that when a casting is poured there is shrinkage so that is the reason for the off-center bolt holes.
As usual, a good video. Do not tell those cows that their good life will end up and the hamburger meat grinder.

How can you ever go wrong when you are making things more better? That is such a cream puff little tractor, I think you will get her back running like a sewing machine again. I was wondering, was the shade of Oliver green on those older era tractors a darker shade that the newer one's like the 50 and 55 series tractors?

Yes it is darker green. They switched during the fleetline era.

Just bought my first Oliver. Unfortunately I don’t know much about them and what I actually bought. 60, 70 or 80 lol I do know it’s one of the 3. Bought it sight unseen. Was the manifold an easy purchase or are difficult to find?

These are easy to tell a part because they usually have the number stamped right in the front. And the body style is different between the three if it’s a four-cylinder it’s a 60, if it’s a six cylinder it’s a 70 and if it’s a bigger four-cylinder with an open grill it’s an 80. The manifold for the 60 was super easy to find and I think the 70 one is as well. The 80 I couldn’t tell you

They just have a long starter. That’s the way they all are. It’s kind of an oddball cause I don’t know that any of the other tractors have something like that.
