It's an absolutely incredible bit of work, it's taken much blood, sweat and tears, but it looks absolutely incredible. I wish mine looked half as good! I don't have the time to put into it though.

My wife describes wheels as a cars shoes. And gets excited about them. She had to have nice “shoes” for her E Class Coupe 😀. Mr Dos is looking great👍.
You are correct, here in Germany you are only allowed to turn on the fog lights when there is "low visibility" either due to fog, rain, or snow. And they have to be connected to the position lights / parking lights. But luckily, everybody has DRLs now, so we don't need to turn on the fog lights during the day ;-)

Gotta give you props for the editing on the wheel reveal. I’ve been watching your channel since day 1 with Mr. Dos, and I loved the flashbacks sync’d perfectly to the music, leading us all to a beautifully satisfying final reveal! BAM!! It actually got me choked up. What a journey! Well done. 👍🏻

Look how far you and Mr. Dos have come since the beginning! Amazing transformations for the both of you! I can feel your excitement for Mr. Dos; it always means the most when it's the 'baby'! LOVE!
Usually when I wire up fog lights I use the park light circuit to trigger via a switch so you have to have the Park lights on before you can switch on the fog lights. This ensures that the tail lights are on when driving at night when using the fog lights in lieu of the main beams or with if you prefer. Also means that the lights on alarm will cover the fog lights when you switch off the ignition so you don't drain the battery with the fog lights.
you should consider getting a crimping tool. we got a few of them for different crimps in our garage, and it makes it so much more satisfying to make harnesses. Along with shrink tubes, and nylon wire hoses etc.

Hi Sarah. The crazy thing about fog lights is that on my 93 Celica the fogs are wired through a relay so that they come on as DRLs. They shut off when you turn on the headlights and become controlled by the fog light switch. The downside to all this is that in their haste to create DRL lights for Canadian regs they just made it so EVERY light outside the car comes on for daytime running. It's horrible and I haven't figured out how to fix it so that if anything just the fogs come on. A project for another day! Keep up the awesome content!

+1 to soldering those crimps.
+1 to just grounding the fog relay instead of switched ground through the headlight switch. Should also let you have the fogs on with high beams instead of low only. An even better idea is to tie the fog enable into the parking lights.

Hahaha! You put Enkei wheels on it. I did too! I put silver 6-spoke Enkei wheels on my 2003 MR2 Spyder. I went with some very nice Dunlop performance tires. No regrets. They're awesome wheels and tires. Amazing work on this MR2! MR2s are the best!

I did tear up 😢. It looks so nice. I’m especially glad you edited in the quick time lapse journey, before the reveal. That truck was insane. I wish I had known you did the Indy ride in Alabama, I would’ve driven the two hours over to cheer. The angels of shots while working 👍.
In most cars nowadays, you can turn the fog lamps on separately of the headlights, (or with them when your low-beam's are on,) but they will go off if you hit the high-beams, so you don't blind someone coming the opposite direction.
I get weepy and tear up too when I see the wheels on my new Silverado. . . . . 👍

I also give you props for doing the wiring of the fog lights at such a high level of quality. Your video showed me what those fuse box terminals look like, as I need to get some of them to add an aftermarket subwoofer to my Focus RS. Thanks for the education on wiring. Keep up the great work. The rims and tires look fuking sharp. Good job on the fogs. If you add a wire on the ground side to the factory light ground. You have the option of the fogs turning on with the factory lights also.

I laughed pretty hard at the "well they're not growing". Yeeeeaaaah....about them mounted tires fitting back into that spot. The wheels look great btw! And yes, the fog light thing is illegal in Germany. Lived there for 8 years while mostly in the US Army.

Finally got to see this in its entirety this morning (on work assignment in Sierra Vista, so you won’t likely see this comment) and I have to say seeing those nice wheels shows that your project has turned a HUGE corner after over 1 year of blood, sweat, and tears (and a few f-bombs thrown in for good measure) has put a smile on my face. Pox on the previous owners for doing a cheap hack job and having no clue how to do it, and a huge KUDOS to you for taking this POS and rebuilding it from scratch and sparing nothing to do the job right. May you have many happy hours of fun driving. :o)

I give you credit.. Being a former ford tech... Reading them schematics can get a little cra cra .. Finding the wires and splices and yes buss fuses .. I'm sure you can read and work a DVOM also ... Lincoln Navigators were a pain in the arse. .. Props to you ... You get a cookie from me this time and 3 beans. .

uF = micro farad :) like uTorrent means micro torrent. Grounding equals zero so it's the current that flows into it, so it isn't responsible for that what you said. Relay is set up so that it goes + 12V from the battery on one input, + 12V comes from the lights on second input and fog lights work only when + 12V appears on the two inputs.
I loved the shots of the vehicle and its journey to where it is now. Really inspiring.
