Wow!!! I can’t believe the timing of this video!! I just looked at my two front foot pegs on my 87 FZR1000 and they are exactly the same. I went looking for an OEM/NOS part and each L/R was 100 Euros. I bought some similar looking pegs with the intention of having to drill out the pressed centre pin like you did but your machining work/skills puts this on an entirely different level. Well done. I’ll probably have to settle for using the standard pins with the c-clips and use shims to deal with the clearances. Awesome work.
I have installed a lathe last summer so now I can try such repairs. But in fact the side that is riveted is not really visible so a repair with a clip like you suggest will be as good. Thanks for the comment
