  • My ZRX1200R, FZ-07, Suzuki Bandit 1200S, and Triumph Bonneville all get ridden in this episode, and I take the Kawasaki to an old Long Lines site with nuclear bunker. History is all around you.

    A good afternoon indeed!
Good to see you riding Tim.
Very interesting about the sandstone house. Tiz a shame it's just left to the elements.
    That Triumph is gorgeous.
    Cheers Mr 🍻 👍👊

Thank you, sir. I'd love to know what the real deal is behind the ownership and occupancy of that house for sure. Cheers, mate.

Well, you managed to pull me out of TH-cam hibernation. Great to see you back on the road again. Planning another spring trip to the Trans Pecos. It's hard to believe it will be almost 5 years. Weather up here has been near same as down there but that will soon change this week. Enjoy them bikes for us who cannot! See you soon!

Good to see you again, Tim! Beautiful bunch of bikes you have there. I remember those Long Lines relays, so I have a good idea where the bunker would be on DC's highest ground. I know the feeling of having bikes that have sat for a while. Last year I rode the Daytona down to NC for some fun, needed new tires after, figured may as well change the fork oil, and then when I got ready for this year's road trip the starter acted up. So I took the Bonnie, rode 1900 miles that week (so now it needs new tires), had a blast riding some great roads I hadn't ridden before, met some friends and rode with them some (except for one who had to work). Met them all through their channels; NC Stoney took his down a while back, so I hadn't seen it there, but he sold his Heritage Softail and got himself a Triumph Tiger 900GT! Hawk Girl and Jay (Misty and Jay Varner) are now on a Triumph Trident and a Tiger 660 respectively, finally got a chance to ride with them, Jay joking it was Triumph parking only where we met that morning. Great folks all.

I've never heard of any of those vloggers (I don't think), but it sounds like you had a great time with some nice people. I only took two motorcycle trips this year, and of the two, I only edited together a video for one of them. My day job, Shriners & masonic lodge, performing live music, and ham radio events have really used up a lot of my time this year. But it's been a good time for sure. Cheers!

At least you're not bored sitting around! One of these days I'll have to get into town early enough to tour the Scottish Rite Temple up 16th Street here, pics on Google Maps look interesting. The one guy I didn't get to meet up with may be the only one you've seen anything from, Colin (channel name Broncoride) recently moved down to TN, he showed me and my Daytona in a video a few years ago, I remember you commenting on the bike after I mentioned the appearance to you. But he got called in to work the day we were planning to meet, so I rode the Foothills Parkway, Cherohala Skyway and Tail of the Dragon solo, like most of my riding that week. I find it somewhat amusing that several folks I follow are Harley riders, as I'm definitely not; they're good people who happen to ride Harleys. Stoney still has his Sportster but he's loving the 900 Tiger.

We took our "bikes" out yesterday too! The weather was great for pedaling around. I would still love it if you would do the South Midkiff ride all the way out and back up Rankin Hwy to Loop 250... just sayin. That was one of my bike routes years ago.

HaHa! The last video I watched immediately prior to this was some guys riding through Russia on their round the world bike trip and now here you are talking about being at war with Russia.
Great to see you out and about on bikes mate. I have 3 neglected bikes in my garage, I need to get out and do the same thing!
Pretty cool bits of history and unique sites there as usual from you with the tower, the old house and the cross. Hope to see more of your bike adventures again soon my friend!

Man, I'm jealous. My bike is currently in pieces as I'm doing a full rebuild. I've been tracking it on my channel, so that sort of helps keep my "sane", but it's just not the same as riding....

Something I always thought was funny about the Long Lines facilities was that those towers were never going to survive a blast so that means the dudes inside the bunker were going to have to venture out into a nuclear winter wasteland to build new towers! Where were they getting replacement steel, cranes & all the other equipment?

    • @TimKreitzAdventures
      @TimKreitzAdventures  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

I know, right? I could never figure that out, either. Although the Long Lines headquarters building in New York was designed to survive a nuclear blast. Lore says that it is now used by the NSA in cooperation with AT&T. I wouldn't doubt it.

@@TimKreitzAdventures No building could survive some of those city killer nukes. I think it was another Think Tank idea where they put the cart before the horse.
