Have you seen that video of luka saying he's going to do a half-court bounce shot and then doing it? It feels to me that he just practices trickshots in his free time.
Luka is the mastermind at offense, I think he is the most genius offense that the opponent dont know how to guard it, even if they can Luka has so many counterattack, so many people lost when they guard Doncic in a game 😅
@@playoffp2024oh wow, you're so smart why has noone though of this before? It's not like every single team he is facing is trying to do that and only one has succeeded only because his teammates are bad shooters.
@@playoffp2024 The problem is that to effectively do this, you need to guard Luka 1v1 and switch everything. Teams have tried that before, but I don't think you realize how hard it is to have Luka drop 20 in a quarter on you and decide "what we're doing is working and we don't need to double him"

Analytics can only take you so far. You cant quantify everything. So to base your whole team roster and the way you play on analytics is doomed to fail. Theres always a human aspect in sports that analytics cant touch. Otherwise we would have computers running franchises and coaching.
A lot of these plays are more instinct that you develop playing a lot. Thats why they happen so quick. If you’re actually thinking you’d turn the ball over. Lol Luka for example has had to read and react to every coverage those amazing plays are 2nd nature
A nice collection of smart plays. I always enjoy these kinds of next level 3d chess kind of situations, mostly involving Luka Doncic or Nicola Jokic, but enough attention was given to some defensive highlights, as well as a ton of time into the Boston Celtics finale. (maybe a little too much and there was nothing on the massive game 4 win Dallas had) You could make 4 hours of this and I would still be entertained for the entire length. Thanks a ton and great job!
Much love to thinking basketball for these types of video. We're very fortunate to have them breaking down hoops for us when others nna so called "media" are more narrative driven. But I'll say this. I think that Jokic and Luka are already top 10 offensive player ever. I'll give Jok the edge on luka cuz of his ability to play constantly without the ball amd allowing his others teammates to shine. But man i don't think there was ever been an offensive player better with the ball in his hands than luka. Never ever!!!
I've noticed a lot of these plays only work if your opponent is also thinking ahead 2 or more steps and have the reaction time to commit which then frees up the play. The better the opponent, the better the play because they'll bite on more complex decisions than simpler defenders.
I have a very specific rules question. If a player takes a shot at 0.1 seconds, but the ball is tipped by the defender at 0.0, does that nullify the shot since the last player to touch the ball did so after time expired?
"one of the greatest passes i have absolutely ever seen" is one of the worst voice lines i have ever heard. i dont like it when people speak nonsense and pretend it is analysis

The fact that nba players can make these decisions in a few seconds shows that their iq is another level

not really iq it’s basketball iq and it builds exponentially when playing more
Its not even a few seconds, its a second or less in reaction.
