You'll never see a more accurate depiction of the sneakiness, awkwardness and greed of two brothers where a will is involved.

there will never be soaps like bracken and clenroe again i grew up watching these .magnificent soaps and wonderful actors such as mic lally , joe lynch and Neil Tobin rip plus other actors who were on the show like Jonathan Ryan . who appeared in later episodes as scooner.there will never be actors like them again the were superlative in their own right. rip when I watch this reruns it brings back so many nostalgic memoires and years gone by in happier times .when you saw pat Barry in his kitchen making tea and going to mass on Sunday and then of down to the local pub to meet up with the lads for all the farming news and gossip around bracken village. thank you to Stella and Aidan for giving people back some of their childhood memoires and splendour times they were 1978 - 1983, when bracken was aired. then clenroe began in September 1983.wesley burrows was the genius behind this soap along with the . Riordans .

I can remember an episode of the Riordans when two traveller children stole the Christmas biscuits and left a brick in the biscuit tin for Mrs Riordan to find .After they had fed them .
If you sired that today there would be uproar .It was a great series and I think on a farm somewhere in Wicklow they have old sheds with the rusting lighting gear still hanging there from filming the series.
Ireland has had a century of change in under twenty years.

My God. Only 10 years later, he was in Miller's Crossing. I knew about this show, but I'd only ever seen a bit of Glenroe on PBS. Grateful for the chance to see it. Wesley Burrowes made his mark, for sure.

Thanks Stella and Aidan. Since RTE seem to have no interest in making Glenroe available again, what do you think the chances are of it being resurrected by fans? There's a small selection of episodes here on TH-cam, but far too little. It's very tempting to watch after finishing Bracken. Especially the first series.

I can't understand why people want see the reruns of Glennroe again. The reason people watched it during that time. Because people didn't have as many channels like they use to. Fair City is lucky to be on air.

I think reason why Glennroe was taken off the air, is because of it's own downfall. Basically their own fault. They up their game. First of all, they relied on the same characters and having half-hour Soap once only on a Sunday. Not that mad about fair City either, but at least they up their game.
