- There really isn't many divewatches with this perfect "Italian" blue dial colour. In this video I review the Swiss-Italian Squale 1521 50 Atmos "Ocean Mesh" 500 meter water resistant divewatch.

VON on that dial logo is Von burren (sp?), as you mentioned in the history part of the video. The original owners of squale. In honor. On crown too.
Nice review but Squale is not an italian word, it is french. In italian shark is squalo. (I am italian)
Yes, Squale is not really an italian word. It's french, an old french dialekt to be exact. Not really used in France. The use of this word in Italy shows the early relationship of this two languages.

Color me surprised to see a 500m diver without a helium escape valve. A lot of the watches I know over 300m have this. A few exceptions I can think of is the Submariner or Seiko Marinemaster and the latter because of the monocock (not sure about the spelling) case.

Anders you should take it to a watchmaker and have the movement regulated.
I bought the 1521 Fumoso instead of the straight blue and I love it. The dial and case is amazing, looks so good in the sun, such a summer watch on an orange rubber strap. The bezel is stuck already maybe sand and the lume is average but i do not care as I just love the look.
Hi Mark , is your Squale 1521 equipped with a Sellita 200-1 ? Plus my question is about the bezel, my model has a bit of a back play and I’ve contact my dealer still waiting for a response, did you have this issues too ? Do you fine tune the bezel in those little 4 screws ? Or just clean your watch ? All the best!
@@69fastfurious Hi yes is a SW200. Bezel was adjusted by a jeweller by the screws and all good. Still loving it!

Aah my favorite mediterranian/caribbean goto watch. So cool, so blue.
Don't wear it with a suit though, you'll look stupid. Not a one watch deal. But pretty effing cool in the right circumstances.
Hi Johan. Good point about the non versatility. I actually edited that part out of the video. It’s a cool summer/weekend watch. But the blue is too much for business wear.

You missed out the most import dimension: lug to lug.

@earlbee3196 20 is lug width for the strap. He's talking about lug to lug which is around 48mm

This watch vs oris aquis? What do you think?
Definitely the Aquis if you want the best bracelet. Its mostly a matter of which style you like the best. Spec-wise they are quite equal with a little plus for the Oris.
Love these watches but these mesh straps just let them down for me I would certainly look at leather options

Nobody wears dive watches for diving anymore. They use a computer.
