Really need help here. The keys on the volume controls are off at 12 (pointing straight up). The backer plate chrome knob keyways are off at 4 . Line the keyways up to fit and the water is half way on. Cannot figure out what to do here. It appears in the videos that they just slide the backer plate on with no problem. Hopefully you can help. The unit works perfectly except for the backer plate not fitting correctly.Thank You Very Much.

The valve button (on/off) for the shower has started sticking to the point where it will not pop out (turn on) (only two years of use) Do you have a video of how to replace the valve button? Or tips to fix it?

Is it safe to solder fittings on this unit? I'd rather use solder but need to make an immediate 90 degree bend after port B.

Should the splines be pushed in or out when cutting ?

Hi, The builders got the smartbox roughed-in a bit too deep, over the 105mm mark after the tiling.
I found about the extension kit (Part 14048000), will this allow to fit the control module without having to rip it all apart and reinstall?

Nice job! the first video I see with more or less the same installation method for the waterpipes. I also want to solder my 15mm coper waterpipes. As well as both inlet pipes as 2 outlet pipes. I will also put the blind stop in outlet A. Did you solder the inlet and outlet while the 1/2" to 15mm copper pipe was allready in place? I suspect that it becomes way too hot for the smartbox (and it is no good for the sealing stuff on the threads as well). So I think you did the soldering first, before screwing them into the 1/2" sockets of the box. My problem is that I my pipe from outlet C has to cross the pipe from outlet B, as my handshower will be on the left of the box. (shame that I cannot use A outlet). The same crossing of pipes will happen when Installing the hot water side. That makes it a real effort to get this thing installed as all pipes must be in place, before I can install it inside the wall (I am not mounting it like you, it will come into a wall which has depth 100mm, so that is also a challenge when cutting away the stones, as only 2,5cm of stone will be left. The smartbox needs fixing screws as well. I do not have a solution for this right now, how to do it. Maybe glue the box to the wall?))

I have almost exactly the same question with soldering near the valve. Did you answer it?
I might contact Grohe customer support.

What a joke ! This toy faucet has a dozen plastics parts that you must have assembled.
