    Can you recommend what cardstock I should use with the laser printer your using? I tried 2 different brands of cardstock & both got jammed in the printer (same as yours.) . Thanks!

      Make sure when you print that you tell your computer you're printing on card stock. Your printer is expecting regular paper by default

      SMOOTH card stock works best, in my experience. I've tried several, including metallic and textured. Smooth wins out and 80# seems to respond better than 110#

    I have bought a Canon Pixma laser jet but when i print a txt of and try to foil it with my Minc foiling maching the foil dose not stick pulling my hair out spent all this money and nothing do you have to put printer on any thing special or what card stock do you use please can you let me know please

      The Canon Pixma printers are Inkjet printers (not Laser), they work by placing ink on the page whereas the Laser printers place a powder on the page. The Inkjet printers won't work for this foil process.

    What dpi are you using with your laser printer? I am getting poor results with the Amazon laminator

    Im not sure if you respond to messages but when I run my project through the laminator I only get specks on the toner. I have a scotch laminator but I was wondering if you had suggestions

      what setting are you using and are you using regular paper or cardstock? also, what are you using to run it through? the carrier sheet it came with or something else?

      +Two Hearts One Love Designs My scotch printer has 2 settings 3mil and 5mil (Im guessing this is thickness) I was using pink card stock, and copy paper folded over the front and back.

    if you printed something that has a slightly shaded background? Eg a tint that is lighter than the font How does the foiling work in that scenario? I'm making a word collage and the program I used ended up shading things in the back.... :/

    does it have to be a black and white printer or can you print it in black with a color laser printer?

    • @shirleyb2896
      @shirleyb2896 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've foiled on both black and colored laser printing. Since laser toner is powdered plastic, ink color doesn't matter, in my experience

      Leanne Winstanley. I have tried a lot of different types of foil. And primas foil is the only one that foils everywhere and not only on the word. So maby you use rong foil. Try Heidi swapp or Gina K or icraft deco foil. I haven't had any problems with them.

      So far, everything I've purchased is made by Deco Foil, whether Heidi Swapp or Gina Kay. Colors are all the same. MY foiling experience is limited but I have had better results when I use an embossing powder bag on the areas around the printing I want to foil
