This guy is absolutely correct on his take of Trump's base. A black man as the most powerful world leader on earth was way too much for them to handle. Case in point: There is a retired white senator-D who openly admitted his problem with Obama. He relates how much he supported Obama. He loved this man and gave it his all to back Obama's campaign run back in 2007. Then after Obama won the Oval Office, and as he said, " It gradually dawned on me that this black man wasnt just sitting in a leather chair in the oval office, but he began BEING the president, making Presidential decisions, for some reason that made me very uncomfortable, and deep down inside I began to question why of all the people who represented my party- why did it have to be HIM. He carried our party with such dignity and grace, took it to the absolute limit to bring both parties together, handled all the indignities afforded a world leader, yet when he had to put up with the racist narratives hurled at him and his family, I didnt feel bad for him. That was MY problem and my failure as a human being".

Overall good interview. I just started watching The Beat around Feb and like the legal eagle slant (like Laura on Sirius). The interviews are good, most of the guests provide perspectives beyond the same ole party talking points and there is very little cable news theater. I looovve the hip-hop and other music genres references and Fallback Friday. But in an election year, I have never seen him interview anyone other than Stacey Dash. I have also never heard him speak on any other stories like North/South Korea, China trade wars, key 2018 state level races, Israel/Palestine, social justice, or even "good news" (like the Waffle House person who stopped the shooter). I have only heard coverage and guests speak on Trump scandals (which is A LOT) and the Mueller investigation. All of which are very important. Open to anyone responding with videos & will check the MSNBC channel!!! I get news from other outlets too, but definitely adding The Beat to my faves and will follow on Twitter. BTW, loving the Breakfast Club...will follow them too!!!
