great video, what you should do when sorting out the other rod is to kick up a little bit of sand to dig a little hole. only has to be 5-10cm deep but it will fill up with water and works well as a temporary rock pool to give the flounders some air. 👍
Not a bad wee session on the beach davie 🎣💪🏻 eyemouth has been really poor from what I've been hearing from my local contact ☹️ so I've not ventured down yet.. having to go further afield to find decent fishing 🎣 As for the weather it's been nuts 🤯 it was only 4 degrees when leaving for work a cpl of days last week Regards Arnie
Bloody hell 4 degrees you must live in the cairngorm mountains 😆...yeah hopefully things will pick up soon...its a long drive for me to the west coast...all the best 👌 👍
If it was Thursday bud I was just up from you I think. Came down and did a bit of spinning for a couple hours in the evening but didn’t have the same luck. At least I know they were there 😂 Well done anyway - looked like a productive session
Lovely.. just goes to show you don't need to cast far. I have the same vader x spinning rod. So much fun fishing with lighter gear. Thank you for sharing your session with us
Thanks Paul...yes I'm disappointed if I have to use a heavier rod these days 😆 sometimes you have to though if the sea is pretty rough but if I can get away with it...its the vader x for me on the beach...tightlines bud
Hopefully they get bigger by he autumn...I've never caught a really big one in Northumberland tbh and I've caught 100s now they are mainly between 1lb and 3lb ...one day though one day!...tightlines mate
Good to see some variety coming in from the surf, especially the bass my favourite species but on lures, had some big ones here in S/E Ireland recently. Keep the content coming Dave.
Nice one...I wish we had some monsters locally..maybe one day I'll get one...I've certainly put the hours in....I should go to Ireland me thinks 🤔 tightlines mate
Nice one again and your right what is going on with the weather, god knows what is happening at the borders it's jst no right last year was the same it's actually quite a concern beautiful marks like those with no or little fish,, what's your opinion on that Davey because I know you have had a lot of success in the area,, I've noticed the same thing in winter up by Arbroath and Angus very good marks and holes that would usually be full of fish in the right condition and state of tide only getting the 1 or 2 with a few exceptions
it's terrible isn't it berty...climate change is my main culprit I believe I think the cod are slowly moving away from our inshore waters...maybe seals too.. cant put a definite on it but I hope it changes soon
Over the moon you decided to start doing your vids again a few month ago davey 👍🏻 what a great little session that was .. you are the bass man.. ! I fish for them too and as I’m from blaydon I fish the same marks as you .. I’ve caught them bait fishing but I’ve never had the success you’ve had mind .. I was actually telling David from full circle angling and Steve from Sparta channel about a couple of decent bass sessions I had last week and previous one.. was in my lure rods though on seaton/ blyth beach and also Cambois again on the lures .. no metals used .. a few taken surface and shallow diving plugs , ( think it was a megabsss zonk ) and the a few on weedless soft bodied .. most of them white or pearlescent did the trick .. I know you like ya lure fishing so wanted to share a bit info .. hope ya well and you’ve spoken or met up with ya sister since you told us in your last vid .. tight lines mate
thanks Mark that's great info ill have to give the lures ago...do you fish for them when it's calm with lures or when a nice bassy surf on? I have met my sister again she's really nice thanks for asking...maybe bump into you on the beach say hello 👋 that would be fantastic...tightlines mate
@@jarrowvikingsinsaneangling9785 yeah course I’d come and say hi mate .. along with any other of the north east lads that have channels .. everyone seems like dead canny lads 👍🏻if I fish on an evening into dusk I prefer flat calm as the lures work much better in calm water .. so as long as it’s either cloudy daytime or dusk I normally have decent sessions .. it’s bass fishing so even when conditions seem perfect I’ve blanked plenty times .. if it’s a nice clear day I prefer a bit of a sea on .. like you mentioned ‘ a bassy sea ‘ I walk the shallows in my waders and also do the rock marks along Northumberland .. hopefully see you out n about davey 👍🏻
hi den I reckon on a clean beach they will be ideal for cod smoothound and rays...it seems a lot easier to cast than many other beach rods I've used...tightlines I say get one!
@@bertbasset8961 Someone’s been having you on mate 🤣 I don’t mind the walking, climbing, blanking, driving, camping etc…. But sidewards rain and wind…. Nah, not for me in the summer mate. I accept some adverse conditions in the winter, to be expected, but in the summer it’s decent conditions only for me 👍👍🎣
Excellent video again dave , keep up the good work . Have you got any tips on how i can preserve my rag worm ? Where i live i have to travel to get it and would be good to know if i could freeze it for another days fishing . Tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
thanks RWB I'm not sure if you can preserve ragworm in a way that it will still be good bait...fortunately I can get mine locally..probably a better bet for you would be to order frozen black lug or crab and keep when needed...tightlines bud
I've not caught one on a lure in the north east yet lol 😆 never mind druridge but tbh I don't really try...its certainly a possibility to cat h them on top water lures from the beach but you'd likely need a flat calm sea...I find the bass are only on the beach when it's rough so I use ragworm or lugworm.. give it a go and if you manage one definitely let me know...thanks for the comment 👍
Cheers Dave really enjoyed the video mate. Love my beach fishing. Thanks JV take care mate 👍🎣🎣
