- Pai is one of the most popular destinations in Thailand. Its in the north, farther even than Chiang Mai, and pretty much everything about this place is Cool, Relaxing, and Pretty.
In Mae Hong Son province, you will nearly always be in sight of beautiful mountains, and wonderfully colorful plates of Northern Thai food. Although Pai is quite popular with tourists, its also a place where you can get a mix of both local (and foreign) foods, drinks, and experiences, music or art, and just have a great time in Thailand.
In this video, my parents and I enjoy the scenery of Pai, we have a few cups of coffee, and then I ride up to show off this high mountain pass (beautiful!) and then finally join my parents again for dinner in the small town on the other side.

Hey Daweng! :) I am trying to convince them to ride ALL the way to Pai with me someday, that would be a huge deal indeed... but yeah, we have gone on some pretty awesome rides together already (this day we were together for about 40km, AND 2 coffees which is very important as well, haha.... :) )

Yes I am interested in all the smaller things, often when I do get the opportunity to go with Mark, I am always late, always stuck somewhere talking trying to learn as much as I can as fast as I can, and I realized, I guess I can just do this myself. Give myself all the time that I want, all the time that I would like to invest into learning the smaller stores along the way, the very tiny views along the way… Those are always things that intrigue me, they’re all waiting there for me, I feel this when I travel and so now I’m blessed to have subscribers like you thank you :-) have a wonderful day

Thanks, Joel! LOVE the cycling! I did a self-contained cycle tour of Northern Thailand in 1996. Coming down that hill reminded me of blowing out a tire coming down Doi Inthanon because my rims got so hot from the brakes! And that the Thai's don't believe in gradual grades! Great coverage of that! Also - loved vicariously revisiting that temple and seeing nagas. Remember: headwinds are great personal trainers.;-)
