After watching the channel for so long, it's wild waking up to a new video to find out it's my own game. Feels pretty surreal. Thanks so much for playing!
Hi, I'm also a game developer, I'm curious how you made the warping effect (when clicking the red ball you get warped over there), this is my guess on how you made it: in a normal state the player has a fov of lets say 120, and when zoomed in on a red ball, it turns to 90. When you click the ball to warp over there, the player camera position lerps between A=("the location the player was, when it clicked the ball") and B=("the location of the red ball" or some where in between.) alpha= time The fov lerps between A=90(the amount you get when you are zoomed in) and B=120(the normal fov), alpha=time there might be some more math to this, but is the main idea correct? thank you for your time.
Doing a planar reflection (mirror reflection) in 3d space flips handedness. So dropping the key going through the mirror, picking it up and going through the mirror (this time with the key) flipped its handedness. Edit: I'm talking about 15:35
Additionally, when you bring the key through the mirror, the key stays the same, but the door's handedness changes, so if the key didn't fit, now it does fit, and vice versa. However, if you leave the key outside while you go through the mirror alone, the handedness of both the door and the key change, so no meaningful difference is made.
@@mambodog5322 This is something I debated talking about as you can see this in two ways, the world changes handedness or the character and everything they are carrying changing handedness, I don't think there's a difference
16:45 i think your character is smart. ok so basically u cant put in the key when the door lock is flipped so u have to flip using a mirror, but if the door is upside down and all you have to do is _rotate_ the key rather than _flip_ it, then your character just rotates it automatically and puts in the key.
I love how there's a hilariously dramatic "DUN!" sound everytime you zoom in with the orb(?), AND each with a different pitch! My personal favorite is at 11:15
I think it could do to teach certain aspects better, and maybe do something about the way the player can use the open map to get themselves lost and confused. Like maybe depending on what puzzle the player is in, certain points light up and others remain deactivated, which can also lead to the player seeing something far off and going "wait, I can use that??" Rather than "oh Im not supposed to use it"
15:53 the reason for the key to change shape that way is because when you go through a mirror everything changes directions depending to their angle from the mirror like if something is parallel to the mirror ( 180 degrees) it gets flipped side to side ( left becomes right rifght becomes left ) which because the key was facing the mirror it got like that and if the object has a 90 degree angle to the mirror it gets upside down which it happened to the door
15:40 HOW DOES THIS MAKE ANY D*MN SENSE?? okay so if you leave the key down and flip yourself, how does the key just magically flip??? LATERALLY TOO like... HUH??
I just learned that doing a planar reflection flips handedness, and my brother told me there's a vsauce video on it, basically... If you look at your reflection, their left hand is on your right, but when you go through the mirror, your right hand is STILL on your right, so technically, what you bring through will be 'laterally' flipped in a sense. This also technically works vertically in a sense.

this game is amazing, I'll probably try it when it's out
this game is amazing
game looks sick man, glad to see it getting attention
Incredible game, very clever! I wonder how hard it would be to add coloured/filtered mirrors, like the doors in Viewfinder

Icely Height missed the "congratulations you beat the game" plaque at the end of the video after he figures out the cool trick
Reminds me of superliminal
Except the player gets squished in perspective
Subliminal Clash Progressed
PERSPECTIVE IS REALITY
The first game I remember called "perspective" where you control 2d char in 3d space by pausing and going closer or farther.

Now you're thinking with portals and mirrors!
I wonder if the gradual bend in the infinite mirror was intentionally added to prevent infinite draw distance by mimicking real life?
Shhhh stop giving away my secrets 😉
