That engine is actually Rosie, who was Thomas's admirer. She was lavender in color. Thomas was an E2 engine that never went into production. All examples of the E2 were scrapped, so Thomas is like a loving tribute to an engine that never was.
Japan has so much love and respect to Thomas the tank engine and the Railway series! They used Bachnman models to recreate classics scenes here so well and the upscale models are beautiful! Compared to Drayton manor where most of the remaining TV series props are just left to rot and are just randomly arranged. Also its sad knowing how Mattel the current owners treats the franchise like a baby cartoon..

おととい見に行きました！
特別展示の壁に車掌の家に突っ込んだトーマスの奴があったり小さい頃にポンキッキで見てたものが多くて、当時を思い出して懐かしくて思わずニヤリとしてしまったｗ
自分もポンキッキーズ世代なのでわかります😹
大井川とは違って、本線走行をしないからもう徹底的にトーマスに近づけてるのが本当にスゴイ！あと最近のトーマスのCGモデル資料を参考にしてるのか、背面の赤いラインも再現してるのは嬉しいですね。(模型シリーズ初期にあった背中の赤いラインが2015年の原作出版70周年記念SPで復活した時はめちゃめちゃ嬉しかった)
原画展は新潟のを行ってきたけど、めちゃくちゃ凄かった。本当に面白かったです！そして、鮮やかで優しい色使いの原画に感動しました。
見た事は無いですが大井川のトーマスも良いですな

Thomas became a C11 instead of an E2
He E2 blue print was ripped/thrown away after the scrapping of the whole class. Now, we don’t know how an E2 works apart from the outside.

一瞬大井川のをワザワザ持ってきたのかと思っちゃいましたが、こっちもこっちで改造したんですね！
ちなみにC11などの小型のSLは、ATCを積むことができないため、JRの本線上を走らせることはもう出来ないらしいです。😵😵😵
東武鉄道みたいにATCを積んだ別の車両と繋げれば、走れるのかもしれませんが・・・。

ホントに、炭水車でもあればねぇ～・・・。
あと、旧型客車にしても保守とかの都合で、JR東日本や大井川鐵道みたいに、一定数を定期運行しているような所でないと、新たに増やして(どこかで静態保存されていたのを、整備して復活させたりとか。)運行させることは出来ないらしいです。なのでJR西日本では、一応旧型客車でマイテ49とオヤ31は在籍していますが、定期運行している車両ではないため、そこから新たに旧型客車を増やすことは出来ないようです。😣 ただ、やまぐち号のあの客車みたいに、新たに新造すれば別ですが・・・。
さらにはトンネルも、消防法だったかにより、一定の距離(詳しい数値は忘れました。)以上になると、これもまた旧型客車はもう走れないそうです・・・。旧型客車は木製の部分が多いですからね。。。
