It doesn't matter how much mouth freshener man tries to conceal the stench it will always be stink in the sight and nostril of God.
@@arenaheta9610 Some may indeed fit that description. It's way too early to tell if this is apt to say about Lawson. I hope you wouldn't say that about David when he killed Uriah and slept with another man's wife. He repented and God told him "The Lord has put away your sin." Hopefully you had Christian love for Steve Lawson and hopefully it's heart wrenching for you because of the grace that you show. Now if Steve Lawson does with Alastair Begg did and says I don't need to repent, then you can say what you said.
Yes David sinned by killing Uriah and David had to kill him. If David had not of killed him. Uriah would have had the full support of God to stone both David and his wife under the law. Something God could not intervene in for it was His Law. That would have meant Christ could never have been called the son of David. Though David sinned and killed Uriah it was a blessing. Besides Christ he is the most mentioned. Think about it if Uriah had of lived. David's sin was immediate. fell straight in. No planning, sneaking around secret rendezvous. He watched her washing and before she put her cloths on. Knock knock whose there David where's the bed in and out in the matter of the hour of first encounter. Preachers miss that part. He fell in an instant. These preachers plan, act, and willfully continue while still preaching and its when they get caught they put their hands up. They are nowhere in the category of David. He sinned and was forgiven but his actions were not. The consequence was that his actions bought the wrath of God upon his grandchildren and his kingdom was lost. Imagine that wrath on the grandchildren of these men today. Blessed is the Lord God who exposes these men that we maybe kept safe and not trust in them but in Christ our Lord. That's why he exposés them so that we keep our eyes on Christ and Christ Jesus alone. Christ our Lord knows when these men fall they take with them all their followers. Blind leading the blind. I have no time for them. I thank my God the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob the God of Israel for exposing them and keeping the unsuspecting safe. He will not be the last God is swiftly exposing from the likes of him with height to the lowest of them that are given the time of day.
I don't know how Mr. Lawson could have stood at the helm of the pulpit on the Lord's day knowing full well that he was deep in sin. How very hypocritical and deceitful. Clearly, he disqualified himself permanently from any type of leadership role in the church. I pray for the fruits of repentance to become evident in his life, as well as restoration to fellowship under the leadership of the elders.
He should have NO BUSINESS being restored by the elders of his own church. His whole ministry is FORFEIT, and leaving him in that church leaves the wolf in the hen house. That's aside from the whole false doctrine of Calvinism.
@@kurtfrancis4621 If he shows the fruits of repentance over time he can be restored to fellowship, but he permanently disqualified himself from leadership, and the disqualification was formalized by the elders through church discipline.
A word of encouragement... you said you don't know how? 🤔 Reread David. He didn't know until Nathan exposed him. Sin is more powerful than we give it credit.

I appreciate the response I’ve seen from most. People are praying for Steve and his family. He is receiving the kind of grace that we should give in abundance. He is receiving what should be given (from individuals), regardless of the fact that the typical Calvinist response is to question a person’s salvation.
No, it is not the typical Calvinist's response to question a person's salvation! Lawson's salvation is not in question here. Calvinists know that. He's been a powerful ministerial force for God and His Church, and that is almost universally recognized. He fell into an egregious sin because of the sinful nature that saved people continue to struggle against AFTER they are saved. God doesn't unsave or disinherit His adopted children because they sin. Saved people lie, covet, and commit adultery. What's in question is Lawson's role going forward and HOW we are to restore him in a spirit of gentleness as in Galatians 6:1. You can't simply deny and negate the man's spiritual gifts and his use of them because he's a sinner saved by grace. We aren't the ones who ex-communicate or shun people for sinning. The question isn't whether he's saved. It's "where do mercy and restoration take us from here."

Judas one of the twelve. Mathew 10 1And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. 2Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and [a]Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; 4Simon the [b] Cananite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. Jesus gave him all the gifts. But he had not the Holy Spirit for he harbored secret sin. So what if he was a good preacher and wrote many books. God never measures a man by his preaching or writing of books or how big a church he pastors. None of these are signs to God that he is of God. Man measures the outward appearance. God measures the heart. Even false leaders are called into ministry just like Judas.

Well said. Let's not judge him, he fell in a moment of weakness and remember he's still a man living in a fallen world. Let's keep our brother Steve Lawson in 🙏
A married man who commits the physical act of adultery does not have a “moment” of weakness of falling. A man does not see a woman and in that “moment” fall into bed with her! No, this was something that grew over weeks, months or perhaps even years of many moments of falling, finally culminating into the physical act! Even if this is a “one off” incident … This does not just happen! There must have been some serious flirting that happened before. Some obvious and perhaps subtle sexual overtures that occurred before. Some serious thoughts, imaginations and sexual fantasies within his private mind entertained by him! All of which were flashing exit signs for him to see and slam on his brakes and get off that path before it went any further! And all the above also go for her as well!

That passage had nothing to do with affirming John the Baptist’s ministry. It was about affirming Jesus’s ministry! 16:43 That whole rant about not judging or holding preachers accountable is bizarre in relation to a passage asking whether Jesus was the Messiah or not. The comment Lawson made regarding soft clothes supposedly representing a message that is soft and effeminate is a disgusting misrepresentation of scripture. Royalty (those who are served) wore soft delicate clothing like silk while servants wore course durable clothing that would stand up to the work they did. John the Baptist didn’t wear course camel’s hair because his message was course. It was meant to be durable enough to live in the wilderness. Would you wear a silk suit on a hike in the wilderness? Wearing camel‘s hair showed that he was willing to be properly equipped without concern for man’s approval or his own comfort. I am so over these pastors misusing scripture for their own agendas.
This again illistrates the vast depths of the human heart. We will never know what sins are buried inside another person. Only God knows and that is what matters on judgement day. All sins will come to light when we face God. Therefore do not hold any human being above another.
Dr. Steve Lawson is a mighty preacher and speaker. I am very much impressed by his preaching. But it is hard to take the truth that he cannot keep his integrity. He was saved when he is seventeen. He was hard-working and devoted to his calling. But the darkness inside him is overlooked. It is sad that he broke the reputation he build for himself for so long.
Amen to that. None of us have been glorified so sin is a potential for any of us (ANY sin). I learned years ago from my reformed brothers (rather they gave me a term for it) about the impeccability of Jesus Jesus Christ - UNABLE to sin. The rest of us? We face this challenge, simply by walking in Menards or Walmart. We should remember our frame and remember who enables us to stand and who keeps us from falling. It is Jesus.
No my friend. Steve Lawson failed Steve Lawson. Not exactly certain how Jesus could have failed Steve Lawson or how that was interpreted in my comment.

The truth Dr Lawson preached remains the truth. Come to his sermons, such as this one with that conviction, and you will be blessed. And then move on to pray for him and his family. Thats what Christians must do. This is no time to mock or succumb to pride. May God help his church 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Praying for Steve and his family and for all God’s people at Trinity. I think the thing that is most disturbing for me is how he can get up and act like absolutely nothing is wrong and preach this message. God have mercy!
That is because it didn't honour God by his doing so. It was a disgrace to a Holy God. It broke my heart seeing him do so. An affair is not a 'hic cup' "Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the flock of my pasture-oracle of the LORD. Therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, against the shepherds who shepherd my people: You have scattered my sheep and driven them away. You have not cared for them, but I will take care to punish your evil deeds."
Brother Steve Lawson faces a personal and moral failure, praying and trusting for God's restoration and healing. Failing God is not the end of anyone’s story, but rather an opportunity for redemption. The same God who called him into ministry is the same one who offers grace, knowing the struggles we all face. It's about the journey back to faithfulness, not the stumble along the way.

This guy was having a mistress. A girl who was his student at master's seminary. He was paying for her to vacay etc. Only when her father confronted he repented. What was he ? A Sugar daddy pastor? Just imagine Joel Osteen doing this, all of us reformed will be crying for his head...
Crazy that repentence was his last sermon before being called out. I pray that God be glorified when all comes to the light. " a whole hearted commitment to Jesus."
This demonstrates the difference between propositional knowing and experiential knowing. I don't say that as a shot against Steve. I say it because the Western church needs to understand it.
You will know them by their fruits. The Pharisees knew the word, they didn’t live it. That’s exactly what we are seeing here too. Not surprising to me at all. James 1:27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
If the Church is declaring a sinner of a sort is irredeemable, unforgivable, not worthy of being restored - then what hope has the world got, to which the Church is called to be the salt and the light? In the New Testament, no one was given the formal title "Pastor." Leadership in the early church was shared among elders, overseers, and apostles, with an emphasis on mutual service rather than hierarchy. The Greek word for "pastor" (poimen) appears only once in Ephesians 4:11, where it refers to a spiritual gift, not a formal office or title. The early church gatherings were Spirit-led, with various members contributing as they were led by the Holy Spirit, rather than being centered around a single individual in authority. When someone today calls themselves "Pastor" and assumes a dominant role, it can create an inappropriate relationship, shifting the focus away from the participatory and Spirit-led nature of the early church. This can lead to a hierarchy that diminishes the equal standing of all believers and neglects the New Testament’s model of collective, Spirit-led worship.
So many people have been quick to rush to a comparison with King David; whereas it's got to be more appropriate to put the hypothetical case of the impact if Nathan the prophet had been caught in adultery.
You live five years in adultery, there's no accident here. His ministry was so important to him, and that woman also, it's just disappointing to see this happening. Proof that even a great theologian it's just a fallen creature just like everybody else...
What Lawson did was more than a hiccup. He's calling a 5 year affair with a young woman who he is old enough to be her grandfather, a hiccup. He preyed on her youth for 5 years and was caught and revealed by her father. Worse is that for 5 years he continued to pretend he was a man of God who leads by example and even led a men's Bible study. He betrayed God and grieved the Holy Spirit repeatedly. Lawson's last sermon is him still begging to be acknowledged by his body of "works" and not by his betrayals and deceits. His last sermon should have been one of contrite and humble repentance not a man who repeatedly grieved against God and the people who trusted him for years. I cannot believe how this is being justified as if he had one weak moment instead of willfully sinful years while pretending to be something that he is not. He is the epitome of a wolf in sheep's clothing. I can tell many people in this comment section truly do not read and study the Bible on any regular basis. They are judging Lawson by the world's low standards and by their own sinful natures because they too, want a free pass and care more about what the world thinks than what God thinks. Lawson could not have repeatedly done what he did and also be a follower of Christ. Lawson still does not want to deny self. I have his books on my shelf. I also think that Ligonier and Grace to You need to take a stronger stand. If this had been a church member, there would have been stronger discipline. This time in the world is certainly NOT the time for someone like Lawson to make followers of Christ look like severe hypocrites. The damage Lawson has done to God and God's Word, Will and Way are on a prolonged satanic scale. If anyone should have known better and cared more about his own actions, conduct and sinfulness, it should have been Lawson but according to Lawson, it was just a hiccup and look at all the good he did in his body of work. He's the one that torched his legacy in order to satisfy his ego. I distanced myself from Lawson last summer or I would be even more disturbed and disoriented, and questioning everything that I believe while my faith is shaken. I will follow God and only trust in the Word of God not any human including myself. Last summer, at Trinity, Lawson began to preach a sermon and during his sermon, there was a commotion in his audience. Instead of seeing what was going on, Lawson got incensed that any disturbance from the audience would dare to occur while he was preaching and he got snappy about the interruption and claimed that he "won" the attention back. He said, "I win, I win." He started to proceed and then within minutes, the live stream of his sermon was cut off. So true, we are human and fail. Not a problem on that! However, if he loves the Lord and he knew he sinned. He shouldn't wait for someone to see him or accused him. He needed to pray and talk to the persons he hurt before the gossip. He failed before praising another man like he was god. A man who is human and not perfect. This is nothing short of heart wrenching. What a dear brother in Christ. Praying for him and his family.
@RealLife888-x9s Don't you agree?
A supposedly “mature” Christian preacher and he still can’t help to but think with his 🍆? Give me a break.
Its not heart wrenching It is God saying what is done in darkness I will bring to the light. Its exposure. Which means he is not a son of God. While he is preaching this message he is carrying the lie in his heart and to God his message is an abomination because of his secret lust. If anyone think that a man or woman who writes books and preaches with eloquence and draws great crowds yet in his heart carries secret lusts that only God can see. I tell you the truth even the breath of his mouth is a stench to God.
He repented and God told him "The Lord has put away your sin."
Hopefully you had Christian love for Steve Lawson and hopefully it's heart wrenching for you because of the grace that you show.
I agree 100% - well said!

He should have NO BUSINESS being restored by the elders of his own church. His whole ministry is FORFEIT, and leaving him in that church leaves the wolf in the hen house.

Calvinist here, I'd never doubt his salvation -- unless he was completely persistently unrepentant.

How does a man of God fall when he already had a wife? Why was he even talking to her? How long was he talking to her?
@@aheartonfire7191The same way David fell

Because it can happen so easily, a glance, a coffee together, a gentle word, a gentle caress, these add up quickly to feed the lusts we constantly, desperately trying to put down. I feel that the men have a tough challenge ahead of them and a moment of weakness brought down everything. Jeremiah 3:22/ Return, faithless people, I will cure you from backsliding.
When you see true repentance, you see a man who fears God. May he be forgiven. May reconciliation come to his marriage and his family.

Yes she seems to be an after thought of even mentioned. Heartbreaking. May the Lord comfort her and give her songs in her darkest night.
@@KansasMiss-mf4bj the point is what the woman also do to get to this point? This is really saddening .. he needs a long time repentance... and we really have to look to Christ and not to men... only Jesus God is infallable.
Praying for his repentance.
It is not a hiccup or one night stand out of a momentary misjudgment, it is a FIVE YEARS AFFAIR with a MINOR . No point using John to justify your wrong doing! Period! It only shows your unrepentance
Not with a minor...

Apparently he had a letter of resignation in his back pocket when he preached this.
We Pray for this man of God and his family... As if we are perfect to try to erase what the Lord has used this man to do in ministry for the past couple of years. I pray God finds him and restores him and send him out like Peter...
You can tell his conscience and conviction is eating him alive. I pray the Lords mercy to him and his family.😢
No, what is eating Steve alive is that he nuked his own worldly kingdom.
Used to listen to this kid 10 years ago.. he was ok
Women.. watch your moves as well
We all love a pint of praise especially from respected men
Knowing and loving Christ more and more will help us put things in perspective.. and speak and act and dress only and only for HIS approval

You're saying some young women wearing a tight dress walked past Lawson, caught his eye, and it's her fault he went after her?
@@barbarapeterson4000 That's not how I read it... but if he went after a woman (however she was dressed) and she received his advances, then it is indeed partly her fault.
@@jesuguru2394 Nope - Lawson was a shepherd, his job to tell her to be pure - as he commanded so often in his sermons. We don't know how old the woman was, of course, but young impressionable woman approached by a pastor who knows God personally, told, hey, it's not a sin, she's gullible.... trusts in this guy who everyone says is so great.... nope - not her fault.
The church has failed. The pastors have failed to call all to repent. All pastors are held to a stricter judgment. Woe to those who lead. Terrible blow to Big Church but I left mainstream Christianity long ago for Jesus and His Bible and I am blessed. Cost to following Jesus is not a lot of fun stuff on earth but loads of love and salvation in heaven
@@barbarapeterson4000 Yep - you're assuming quite a bit. If she wasn't a minor, being "young" (you don't know) and "gullible" (same) are no excuse. He's to blame, but so is she. The societal attitude of "a man in power seducing an impressionable woman makes him 100% to blame and her 0%" isn't Scripture, it's misguided worldly feminism.
God still and will always love u Steven ❤️💯🙏

It sounds like he is comparing himself to John the Baptist. John didn't live in hidden sin for 5 years, only confessing after being called out. I cannot believe he had the audacity to stand in front of the congration and speak like this.
These people still preach, as if there's nothing amiss in their life. Something is very wrong. I wouldn't be able to even pray.
Wouldn’t we pray when we fall?
Good that you see the hypocrisy that Jesus taught against to the religious leaders in Jerusalem.
@@carlospadron488He didn't "fall" he CHOSE to sin
@@michellethalman2803 Everybody sins everyday. Christians gossip, say white lies, get angyr, jealousy/envy, lose their tempers, have dirty thoughts, etc. every single day. How are we all better than another christian? We all choose to sin, it's in our fallen nature. Saul approved Stephen's death & stoning, and we christians act & think like Saul as well. Paul struggled with his sinful nature after being converted, just like we all struggle with sin Romans 7:19-25 .
@@michellethalman2803” Now unto Him who is able to keep you from falling.” (Jude 24). Yes we chose to sin, thus we fall into sin. No one is saying he is not responsible. “ A righteous man may fall seven times and rise again.”( Prv 24:16).
His concluding words are harrowing…
“I conclude by saying you must repent of your sins”
True.
The late William branham was revered and still is amongst Pentecostals. He strayed from his ministry to believe he was Elijah who would return. Same with David Wilkinson he strayed in his teachings
Church discipline couldn’t take place because everyone lawyered up. Tell you everything about the state of the church in America.
@ Zach Shepard:
Are you saying that Speaking from a pulpit is better than preaching with our lives ?
We can Judge Righteously! If he is a true man of GOD and LOVES GOD! The Holy Spirit Convicts and Keeps us from Sinning! JESUS died on the Cross for our Sin! The BLOOD of JESUS is POWERFUL! I LOVE, FEAR, and Reverence my HOLY GOD!!!
Same pastors that tell us to man up and stop playing videogames. Okay I'll stop playing videogames when you stop cheating on your wife
AMAZING!!!
He popped his balloon with a knife. He dropped an ink into his clear water. The Bible says, and he knows this, that judgement is bigger to those who teach than to those who listen.
Forgiveness is the same for everyone because we are all sinners.
@@leroycharlesdiazurena9595 Nope. Lawson had a ton of responsibility. He was a pastor. His congregation was in his care. He's an adulterer and a hypocrite. (And stupid.) First Corinthians 6:18-20 tells us that sexual sin offends God and should be avoided: "Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body." And since the Holy Spirit is within us, that counts as disrespecting the Holy Spirit - the one unforgivable sin.
@@barbarapeterson4000 More responsability does not mean less forgiveness avalaible to him. All sins are the same before God. I guess people judge so lighly because they don’t think they can fall. Look at Steve.. He is an example that we can all fall.
We sin every day...yes it grieves the Holy Spirit...but God forgives us when we repent...
Jesus spoke to the relgious leaders in Matthew 23:28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

Let us keep Steve Lawson in our prayers. It is unfair to erase his preaching and the good that he has done to spread the true word of God. He has lost his way, he has stumbled in his journey with his Lord and Savior, but all who belong to Christ will not lose not one. Let us pray that Steve is on bended knee before the Lord. As Christians we are to be a loving and forgiving people. 🙏 🙏 🙏 Hope, Faith and Love but above all is love. Jesus went to the Cross for our atonement, he paid the price for our sins, so why should we not be forgiving and understanding when someone falls.
They were given a priesthood
Subsequently, it was disclosed that a woman in the audience had become gravely ill with some cardiac or pulmonary event and that was what the disturbance was. I had already been put off by his callous and self-centered behavior toward his church members that dared to have a disruption but his egotistical display and claim of winning made me stop listening to any of his programs and streams. I thank God that He graced me with that distance or I would be totally devastated now.
How many wolfs are clothed in sheep's skin?😔. we need to stay sober minded and alert as the devil seeks who to devour, what I learned from this shocking news is that any man can fall at any age or stage of the christan life if he or she isn't sober mined of the devils tactics and schemes and sin. I pray in Jesus name that he keeps me and all my fellowship brothers in grace and communion with God 🙏 Amen

Yep but will be saved by the grace of God like us all, but time to sit down and reflect Steve.
Would God hear his prayer at all? Would God give him light as he tries to expound the word of God? Would his preaching have the anointing at all while he lived in sin? God says nay. (Isaiah 59:2)
Thank you for going to the Word and what God is saying about his actions of preaching - especially on Sunday. So sorrowful listening to it knowing what he was hiding from all except God . We are told to fear God because He is a jealous and just God.

@@luboshcamber1992 if you confess your sins, God is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Judge not, that ye be not judged....who is among you that is without sin, let him cast the 1st stone...and one by one you all go quiet, being convicted in your own consciences of your sin.
All of us sin against God, but God, who is rich in mercy, will forgive Steve Lawson once he has truly repented of this, which i believe, he will do.
How can any of us judge him, when without doubt we have done the same things, maybe not in deed, but probably most definitely in thought, and God sees our hearts better than we do ourselves.
Let us pray for him and his family, this is very tragic as it gives the enemy cause to reproach the name and cause of Jesus Christ and the gospel.

Disqualified.
May be because he is his boss and he gave him work?
Of course, we must pray for him and his family and all hurt because he will not teach.
