While he is preaching this message he is carrying the lie in his heart and to God his message is an abomination because of his secret lust. If anyone think that a man or woman who writes books and preaches with eloquence and draws great crowds yet in his heart carries secret lusts that only God can see. I tell you the truth even the breath of his mouth is a stench to God. It doesn't matter how much mouth freshener man tries to conceal the stench it will always be stink in the sight and nostril of God.

      @@arenaheta9610 Some may indeed fit that description. It's way too early to tell if this is apt to say about Lawson. I hope you wouldn't say that about David when he killed Uriah and slept with another man's wife. He repented and God told him "The Lord has put away your sin."
      Hopefully you had Christian love for Steve Lawson and hopefully it's heart wrenching for you because of the grace that you show. Now if Steve Lawson does with Alastair Begg did and says I don't need to repent, then you can say what you said.

    • @arenaheta9610
      @arenaheta9610 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes David sinned by killing Uriah and David had to kill him. If David had not of killed him. Uriah would have had the full support of God to stone both David and his wife under the law. Something God could not intervene in for it was His Law.
      That would have meant Christ could never have been called the son of David. Though David sinned and killed Uriah it was a blessing. Besides Christ he is the most mentioned. Think about it if Uriah had of lived.
      David's sin was immediate. fell straight in. No planning, sneaking around secret rendezvous. He watched her washing and before she put her cloths on. Knock knock whose there David where's the bed in and out in the matter of the hour of first encounter. Preachers miss that part. He fell in an instant. These preachers plan, act, and willfully continue while still preaching and its when they get caught they put their hands up.
      They are nowhere in the category of David. He sinned and was forgiven but his actions were not. The consequence was that his actions bought the wrath of God upon his grandchildren and his kingdom was lost. Imagine that wrath on the grandchildren of these men today.
      Blessed is the Lord God who exposes these men that we maybe kept safe and not trust in them but in Christ our Lord. That's why he exposés them so that we keep our eyes on Christ and Christ Jesus alone. Christ our Lord knows when these men fall they take with them all their followers. Blind leading the blind. I have no time for them.
      I thank my God the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob the God of Israel for exposing them and keeping the unsuspecting safe. He will not be the last God is swiftly exposing from the likes of him with height to the lowest of them that are given the time of day.

    I don't know how Mr. Lawson could have stood at the helm of the pulpit on the Lord's day knowing full well that he was deep in sin. How very hypocritical and deceitful. • @mixedupjo
      @mixedupjo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, it is not the typical Calvinist's response to question a person's salvation! Lawson's salvation is not in question here. Calvinists know that. He's been a powerful ministerial force for God and His Church, and that is almost universally recognized. He fell into an egregious sin because of the sinful nature that saved people continue to struggle against AFTER they are saved. God doesn't unsave or disinherit His adopted children because they sin. Saved people lie, covet, and commit adultery. What's in question is Lawson's role going forward and HOW we are to restore him in a spirit of gentleness as in Galatians 6:1. You can't simply deny and negate the man's spiritual gifts and his use of them because he's a sinner saved by grace. We aren't the ones who ex-communicate or shun people for sinning. The question isn't whether he's saved. It's "where do mercy and restoration take us from here."

Jesus gave him all the gifts. But he had not the Holy Spirit for he harbored secret sin. So what if he was a good preacher and wrote many books. God never measures a man by his preaching or writing of books or how big a church he pastors. None of these are signs to God that he is of God. Man measures the outward appearance. We need to pray for his repentance and healing and hope his family/children/grand kids are ok. He has been exposed and will Never be in leadership role. But we need to extend grace and not be more harsh than God. His sins have consequences and its a bitter pill. He will suffer shame and lost of reputation, income and etc. Satan is a roaring lion and he is our enemy. Let's pray for the fallen soldiers to come back and have a fear of God again.

    That passage had nothing to do with affirming John the Baptist’s ministry. It was about affirming Jesus’s ministry! 16:43 That whole rant about not judging or holding preachers accountable is bizarre in relation to a passage asking whether Jesus was the Messiah or not.
    The comment Lawson made regarding soft clothes supposedly representing a message that is soft and effeminate is a disgusting misrepresentation of scripture. Royalty (those who are served) wore soft delicate clothing like silk while servants wore course durable clothing that would stand up to the work they did. John the Baptist didn’t wear course camel’s hair because his message was course. It was meant to be durable enough to live in the wilderness. Would you wear a silk suit on a hike in the wilderness? Wearing camel‘s hair showed that he was willing to be properly equipped without concern for man’s approval or his own comfort.
    I am so over these pastors misusing scripture for their own agendas.

    This again illistrates the vast depths of the human heart. We will never know what sins are buried inside another person. Only God knows and that is what matters on judgement day. All sins will come to light when we face God. Therefore do not hold any human being above another.

    Dr. Steve Lawson is a mighty preacher and speaker. I am very much impressed by his preaching. But it is hard to take the truth that he cannot keep his integrity. He was saved when he is seventeen. He was hard-working and devoted to his calling. But the darkness inside him is overlooked. It is sad that he broke the reputation he build for himself for so long.

    Amen to that. None of us have been glorified so sin is a potential for any of us (ANY sin). I learned years ago from my reformed brothers (rather they gave me a term for it) about the impeccability of Jesus Jesus Christ - UNABLE to sin. The rest of us? We face this challenge, simply by walking in Menards or Walmart. We should remember our frame and remember who enables us to stand and who keeps us from falling. It is Jesus.

    Let us keep Steve Lawson in our prayers. It is unfair to erase his preaching and the good that he has done to spread the true word of God. He has lost his way, he has stumbled in his journey with his Lord and Savior, but all who belong to Christ will not lose not one. Let us pray that Steve is on bended knee before the Lord. As Christians we are to be a loving and forgiving people. 🙏 🙏 🙏 Hope, Faith and Love but above all is love. Jesus went to the Cross for our atonement, he paid the price for our sins, so why should we not be forgiving and understanding when someone falls.

    In the New Testament, no one was given the formal title "Pastor." Leadership in the early church was shared among elders, overseers, and apostles, with an emphasis on mutual service rather than hierarchy. The Greek word for "pastor" (poimen) appears only once in Ephesians 4:11, where it refers to a spiritual gift, not a formal office or title. The early church gatherings were Spirit-led, with various members contributing as they were led by the Holy Spirit, rather than being centered around a single individual in authority. When someone today calls themselves "Pastor" and assumes a dominant role, it can create an inappropriate relationship, shifting the focus away from the participatory and Spirit-led nature of the early church. This can lead to a hierarchy that diminishes the equal standing of all believers and neglects the New Testament’s model of collective, Spirit-led worship.

    So many people have been quick to rush to a comparison with King David; whereas it's got to be more appropriate to put the hypothetical case of the impact if Nathan the prophet had been caught in adultery.

    You live five years in adultery, there's no accident here. His ministry was so important to him, and that woman also, it's just disappointing to see this happening. Proof that even a great theologian it's just a fallen creature just like everybody else...

    What Lawson did was more than a hiccup. He's calling a 5 year affair with a young woman who he is old enough to be her grandfather, a hiccup. He preyed on her youth for 5 years and was caught and revealed by her father. Worse is that for 5 years he continued to pretend he was a man of God who leads by example and even led a men's Bible study. He betrayed God and grieved the Holy Spirit repeatedly. Lawson's last sermon is him still begging to be acknowledged by his body of "works" and not by his betrayals and deceits. His last sermon should have been one of contrite and humble repentance not a man who repeatedly grieved against God and the people who trusted him for years. I cannot believe how this is being justified as if he had one weak moment instead of willfully sinful years while pretending to be something that he is not. He is the epitome of a wolf in sheep's clothing. I can tell many people in this comment section truly do not read and study the Bible on any regular basis. They are judging Lawson by the world's low standards and by their own sinful natures because they too, want a free pass and care more about what the world thinks than what God thinks. Lawson could not have repeatedly done what he did and also be a follower of Christ. Lawson still does not want to deny self. I have his books on my shelf. I also think that Ligonier and Grace to You need to take a stronger stand. If this had been a church member, there would have been stronger discipline. This time in the world is certainly NOT the time for someone like Lawson to make followers of Christ look like severe hypocrites. The damage Lawson has done to God and God's Word, Will and Way are on a prolonged satanic scale. If anyone should have known better and cared more about his own actions, conduct and sinfulness, it should have been Lawson but according to Lawson, it was just a hiccup and look at all the good he did in his body of work. He's the one that torched his legacy in order to satisfy his ego. I distanced myself from Lawson last summer or I would be even more disturbed and disoriented, and questioning everything that I believe while my faith is shaken. I will follow God and only trust in the Word of God not any human including myself. Last summer, at Trinity, Lawson began to preach a sermon and during his sermon, there was a commotion in his audience. Instead of seeing what was going on, Lawson got incensed that any disturbance from the audience would dare to occur while he was preaching and he got snappy about the interruption and claimed that he "won" the attention back. He said, "I win, I win." He started to proceed and then within minutes, the live stream of his sermon was cut off. Subsequently, it was disclosed that a woman in the audience had become gravely ill with some cardiac or pulmonary event and that was what the disturbance was. I had already been put off by his callous and self-centered behavior toward his church members that dared to have a disruption but his egotistical display and claim of winning made me stop listening to any of his programs and streams. I thank God that He graced me with that distance or I would be totally devastated now.

    How many wolfs are clothed in sheep's skin?😔. we need to stay sober minded and alert as the devil seeks who to devour, what I learned from this shocking news is that any man can fall at any age or stage of the christan life if he or she isn't sober mined of the devils tactics and schemes and sin. I pray in Jesus name that he keeps me and all my fellowship brothers in grace and communion with God 🙏 Amen

      @@luboshcamber1992 if you confess your sins, God is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) Without repentance, there is no forgiveness. The fact that the elders in Mr. Lawson's church are praying that he may come to personal repentance tell us that he has not. He still continues in that sin. May the Lord have mercy upon him. Amen.

    Judge not, that ye be not judged....who is among you that is without sin, let him cast the 1st stone...and one by one you all go quiet, being convicted in your own consciences of your sin.
    All of us sin against God, but God, who is rich in mercy, will forgive Steve Lawson once he has truly repented of this, which i believe, he will do.
    How can any of us judge him, when without doubt we have done the same things, maybe not in deed, but probably most definitely in thought, and God sees our hearts better than we do ourselves.
    Let us pray for him and his family, this is very tragic as it gives the enemy cause to reproach the name and cause of Jesus Christ and the gospel.
    Let him that thinketh he standeth, take heed lest he fall...a message for us all.

    So true, we are human and fail.
    Not a problem on that!
    However, if he loves the Lord and he knew he sinned. He shouldn't wait for someone to see him or accused him. He needed to pray and talk to the persons he hurt before the gossip.
    He failed before praising another man like he was god. A man who is human and not perfect.
    May be because he is his boss and he gave him work?
    Of course, we must pray for him and his family and all hurt because he will not teach.
    😢
