    Cute tags :) I find popping the fuse in a coffee cup stops it rolling around & reduces the chance of you burning yourself trying to catch it (ask me how I know that..lol) I also find fusing on a piece l chipboard works perfectly. Even tho it's not heat resistant I've never had any issues. It has a slight bit of give so I find the fused seam holds better. I made some bookmarks for Em to give to her school friends, who loved them. How much fun is the fuse!

    To answer your questions:
    1. Pound is a coin (but used to be a note yeeaaars ago).
    2. We call them pound shops. The two main ones are the 99p Store and Poundland.
    3. The US fuse has another round bit at the base of the tool (just above the plastic) so that it can rest in the stand easy. Your version and mine (UK) doesn't have this. I agree that it's total rubbish, and makes the stand useless. Major fail.

    • @terryefosheehawkins1341

    I know this video is 2 years old. I just stated to watch toYOU Tube videos to inspire me. I bought mines at Tuesday's Morning for $9.00. Very happy I have waited for a good price. But Any ways back your tutorial. I noticed that when you were showing the tool in @2.20 I noticed there's a little piece missing to your tool. That's why it couldn't sit on it's on its tray. A circular disk was missing from tool to help it sit. But I know is was two years ago. .. LOL

    I put mine on maybe 5 - 10 mobs tops and I haven’t had one come apart. I wonder if you are just going too fast with the tool and it doesn’t give it a chance to seal. It’s a fine line between enough and too much as you saw when yours fell onto the plastic. Mine fell onto me thanks to that stupid stand - ohh my finger was sore lol! Thanks for the ideas and tips xx pa I use a small little plastic spoon to add my sequins if that helps x

  • @scrappingwest
    @scrappingwest 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have the American version of the tool. It has an extra darker gray ridge around the top of the handle where it "sits" in the stand. However, the stand is so flimsy that it still falls out of it. I think it's a waste too! I bought a soldering iron stand off Amazon for about $5 and it holds it nicely!!

    Adele, you need to check out Cartwright's Sequins. Check out Nurse Lisa 04, I think, she does hauls from Cartwright's. The sequins are inexpensive and have sales ALL THE TIME. I'll try to leave you the web site.

  • @eh2179
    @eh2179 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Have you thought about hot gluing your stand to the tool? Just bought the American version on Amazon and sent to me in the UK. Their model had a metal ring that catches in the kick stand so holds it very well. No idea why the company made 2 different models...?
    We have Poundland here. £1 is a coin. Thanks for the video, I like your humour.

    oh and also! in Sweden we only have one cheap store and its a new chain of stores that just opened a few years ago. because of our welfare system things cannot be cheap here. even thrift stores are usually expensive. ebay is where poor Swedes shop haha or people who want to save :) but we get a lot for our high taxes so it's ok :) but scrapbooking is so much fun but here it is something only middle class and upper class people can afford, sadly!

    I was thinking along the same lines for shapes! Use a template or a small thin die like a circle or a star, heart, those file o sex dies from heidi etc. to make a shape and fill them up with yummies. Needless to say I have 6 failed attempts so far. Ive been using the other tip that comes with the fuse tool. Have you tried it yet? Any suggestions?Great video! These tags are soooo adorable!! I haven't bought a fuse tool yet, because I didn't think I'd use it enough...but these tags may put me over the edge!! I went to a Creaing Keepsakes convention and tried the fuse tool there - they had the WRMK silicone mats with the holster and they worked great for holding the tool when not in use and for a surface to fuse on. Thanks for another awesome video!!

    I keep thinking it would be easier to first fuse it, and THEN cut along the edge where you fused? But yep, great tips...new subscriber:)
    And yes, in America, we have the Dollar Store (Dollar Tree) and everything is a dollar:) But there are others that have "dollar" in the title but are dishonest (like Family Dollar) and use it as trick to get you in the door.

    Great idea! I have used my fuse for my photo pockets as well. I have also made shaker cards with it, so much easier than the old way. I have made small shaker pockets for my planner! Now I will make some of those tags!!! A tip : for holding your fuse when in use, place it in a glass mug. That way it can't roll or burn anything, it is stable, and it's easy to put in and take out when you are working on your project! I own a mini iron for fusing fabric and that's how us sewers deal with that hot iron! Loving your videos! Oh, and where I am in MD we have a chain of stores called Dollar Tree and everything truly is one dollar!!! They are fabulous!!!!

    I agree the stands & ruler are a bit useless. I have one for a wood burning tool that is similar concept but is all metal & flips all the way over so it doesn't flop around like the fuse one. These pockets are totally cute, have you (or anyone else) tried using any of the fuseable paper or other things? Love to know what you think of it.
