    Brilliant! I wonder if it would work on the clear vinyl that you can purchase by the yard at fabric stores? It is a bit thicker, but would be neat to make your own customized hanging shoe/craft supplies/etc. storage system. Thanks for sharing.

    I returned a fuse tool today that did not work. I couldn't find the WRMK one but I did find a wood burning tool. I remembered seeing something about this on one of your videos, so I bought it. Of course then I had to search through and find this. Love all your creative ideas, your stamp school and of course your painting! P.S. For some reason when I went looking for you on my subscription list, you were not there. This seems to happen sometimes here on TH-cam, right? Anyway, re-subscribed, and you are back on my list as you should be. Thanks and keep up the good work : )

    Super awesome idea! I have this tool and I buy the cheap tab dividers from dollar tree and make my own stencils with it. And they work great. I just put the desired pattern under a piece of glass or my own design and place the tab divider on top and trace it with the tool. Works great and I have my own custom stencils!! Give it a try. I love it.

    a little off the subject, but I want to try small stained glass soldering projects like jewelry or ornaments and want to know if I can use a wood burning tool (750 degrees) to see how I like it before investing in a soldering iron for that purpose...if not, what would be a good starter soldering iron, wasn't sure about tip on wood burning tool, either.

    Hi Lindsay, about 17 years ago I bought some clear tablecloth vinyl and made my niece a birthday card. I cut it with zig zag scissors went around three sides with my sewing machine, filled it with sequence and a few other objects sealed the opening and mailed it out like that. It was really cool, so similar to this project. I still have a few others put away. Thanks for reminding me about this fun craft.

    Quick question (Ithink ;)) What wattage/voltage is your tool? I have one that is 30w and I´ve used it to make stencils, but find that it gets a little bit to hot sometimes and make raised edges. And maybe do more so on thinner plastic?! TFS!

    I discovered my hubby's soldering iron almost two years ago while playing with ribbon. I use it to cut and seal ribbon ends as well as to write words into the ribbon and thought, hey if this works on ribbon I can use it on my page protectors instead of sewing, taping or gluing them. I also use it to directly attach ribbon to the page protectors or to fuse other plastic shapes to them. He did recently buy me a fuse since he got tired of me swiping his soldering iron. :). I still use it, now I have two irons, differents tips to use without having to use pliers to change hot tips. LOL! I am sure that isn't what he was after...

    Hi Lindsay, I just picked up a Hot Marks tool today. I ordered it from WalMart.com. It was $19.51. Free shipping to store. I had seen "theoneandonlygrand" use hers as a substitute for the Fuse. :) Thanks for showing so many ways to use it. I hadn't thought of page protectors. Much more frugal. I was going to use those baseball card protectors or something similar.I think I have some clear vinyl I purchased at Joann's once upon a time, by the yard. It's pretty thick. We'll see. The WalnutHollow website has TH-cam videos showing how to use it. I'm surprised they're not remarketing it with all the interest in Pocket Letters etc. Thanks for always showing us ways to get great results and save money too!!!! Iris,SavedbyGrace

    Hi Ms. Lindsay, I have this tool... I just tried to use the exact same tip that you have in this video and it is actually cutting thru both sides of my page protector. Have you tried the other top, the angled one? Trust me, out doesn't stick to glass. I have the EK Success Tempered Glass Mat. Even though I went slow but not to slow it still went thru both sides and sliced my protector.

    Hi Lindsay. I was looking for a video like this. I have the Hot Marks set. I haven't seen anyone fuse with it before. I saw them cutting. I saw some pocket pages similar to baseball card holders but they have a little flap on top to keep stuff in. It's used for office stuff like memory cards. They're really expensive. I store stuff like small stamps in mine but they come flying out. Any way we could add a flap to pockets on the baseball card holders using this tool? The flapped pockets would come in so handy. Thanks. Tere

    • @thefrugalcrafter
      @thefrugalcrafter  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      paprluvr if you cut the slit like I showed you 1/2" below the fuse line the stamps won't side out, they will catch in the top of the pocket.

    I've been looking for my wood burning tool ever since I saw the Fuse on tv! LOL. In the meantime I am going to try my mini quilting Clover iron on the edge. I will let you know if I have any success.

    Omg omg! Thank you! Now I can make my own pockets To organize my dies and my stamps. Once again your the best DIY crafter on TH-cam!! Tip for you and others that use a wood burner (or other hot tool) I use a old coffee mug as my holder bc I hate the tool holder these come with.

    I've wasted too many protectors so I'm giving up on using this to make pocket letters. Every tip I tried using were either burning my protectors or cutting thru completely. 😢😢

    humm I could have used this video a week and a half ago before I bought the fuse. Cool idea Lindsay. Thanks for sharing.

    The new "fuse" tool never showed a temperature. I wanted to also use it for making a tighter seal on my thermal laminated stuff. I found a kit similar to what you shared but fouls one with a temperature dial. Thanks for showing that it will work. I bought it many moths ago and haven't yet played with it and experimented..... So, I thank you.

    Trust me my boyfriend and my wallet seriously thank you. I bought a woodburning kit do hot fix some crystals to some shoes. That wood burner has been sitting in the bottom is my craft basket for God knows how many years since. I can catch a fuse off my craft list.

    I have one of those around here somewhere. I was thinking it is basically the same tool that is all the rage right now. I will have to find my Hot Marks tool and use it. Thanks for the reminder.
