Officially supported classic servers would be more popular than SE thinks they would be, I think. New players would enjoy it too... maybe not as many as some modern games, but it would really bring in dollars. Games just aren't a challenge anymore... and in MMOs I feel like there is little to no difference between job classes, they all just feel like cookie cutter experiences with different animations and skins.
I never realized just how much I just turned the game on only to sit in an area and talk to the linkshell. I can feel the hours going by listening to this music.
Same thing. Much of the time I didn't level, I'd just get online and talk to my literal best friends for hours. We even all met up in Orlando. All these years later we're in contact. FFXI was something special
There was this old... well, internet radio show - a podcast before podcasts were a thing - that I used to listen to all the time... it was called The Lorekeepers. They used this song as their music bed. I have so many wonderful memories of late nights spent listening to them... this will always be my happy place song because of them.
Man, hearing this song is bittersweet honestly (Or any XI song for that matter). It really makes me long for the old days of logging into the game just to hang out and chat. No one was in a rush to get fast XP and rush to end game. Everyone was on the same journey together just trying to make friends and clear content, or make gil, craft etc. Back in our day, you literally LIVED in the world of Vanadiel. It was home away from home. I currently play on the private server Eden and man... It's not even close to the old days. Hurts to play but I know nothing else. Thank you for posting this
Anytime I was tired and went to my mog house this song would zonk me out and I would wake up feeling so rested 😴 the fireplace is what did it 🔥🥰 Thanks for making this!
Tell me about it. I was one of the 20-something year olds playing during the US release and even at this old aging bones age still let this song play when working from my PC. I am still social media friends with a good amount of people from a few of the Linkshells I was in!
I miss my LS. I miss my RDM, BLM and DRK. Good days. I'd wake up to this still holding my controller after someone warped me home when I fell asleep (or I red balled and died)
I wish, just for a day... I could dial back the hands of time... and relive all the joy I felt, when I played this game. FFXI forever.
Horizon XI. See you there.

Many of nights passed out with this playing in the background... and many more!

Dude, right in the gut. Same here! I've played many MMOs and have yet to see this kind of thing these days

長時間のパーティ募集、移動、そして狩り
戻ってきてカバン整理のために戻るモグハ
この音楽は一日の終わり
Jumping into your Mog House after an amazing hours-long exp party actually felt like you were home lol
especially if you had some gil in your delivery box from the AH!
FFXI has the best music of any game, ever

Oh same! Strixus, Kae, Nobunaga and Leto were great storytellers and so much fun to listen to. I wonder if they still make podcasts

The memories of this game are as vivid as if they were yesterday…strange how much this game meant to me…and still does
