This is a bass driven group. Mark King is the bass and lead singer. He's a master of 'slap bass', so I wouldn't be too sure that's a synth bass you're hearing! He could pull it off if anyone could. Next up give 'Lessons In Love' a whirl. Equally as enjoyable! Love the reaction! Keep on keepin' on!
Welcome to properly good music. Mark King is known to be one of the best bass players ever (he plays slap bass mostly), he’s also the lead singer. They had some absolute bangers. I love their music. Welcome to the groove that is Level 42 😊
Such a well crafted 80’s pop song. The melody, groove and even lyrics make it such a jam. Would love to see you react to: Boy Meets Girl “Waiting for a Star to Fall”
You want some good base the listen to Strawberry Letter 23 by the Johnson brothers. The brother playing base is phenomenal. Not to mention he’s got to have the best pants in a music video if you find the right video with those fury white pants. 😂
If you are a bass fan you really should check out Level 42 .... Mr. Pink live at Reading Concert Hall 2001 you will not be disappointed, Mark King, Bass and Vocalist.
Love your reaction! Great song!! Level 42 is a fantastic band with a deep catalog. Mark King plays the bass in a unique method called slapping which is cool to watch. He is also the lead singer.
My man, I had the same reaction back when my (then) GF took me to a Tina Turner concert for which Level 42 opened in support of the release of World Machine. I have been a lifelong L42 fan ever since! Great reaction and as a reward, I'll turn you on to the group Dirty Loops which is a Swedish jazz-pop trio and their cover of Thriller (yeah, MJ's Thriller). FYI, you'll need duct tape to keep your socks on and...they're managed by Quincy Jones so they're legit! Cheers mate.
Level 42 are incredible. Lessons in Love should be next but Hot Water (the extended mix) is another level, maybe Level 43? Also Micro-Kids, Weave Your Spell, and World Machine can get you started. This band has an impeccable groove!
Ace, you should find a young lady to do reactions with you and dance with you in them when the spirit moves you both!! LOved this reaction! HIlarious -- but I get it the joy -- this song is fantastic!!!
I’M NOT SUGGESTING ANY OF THE BAND MEMBERS KNOW OR KNEW THIS, HOWEVER, 42 , BIBLICALLY SPEAKING MEANS THE HIGHEST SPIRITUAL ATTAINMENT ACHIEVABLE ONTHE EARTHLY PLANE… GODSPEED
This song has been on my hits list since the 80s. Great song.

Definitely additional bass synth played by Wally Baradou on the studio version. Mike Lindup confirmed this in an interview.
Love this song! One of my favorite from the 80’s
me too!
Hidden gem❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
LEVEL 42 was Criminally Under rated in the 1980s.
yes, I remember that... it just wasn´t cool in school being a Level 42 fan
Lessons in Love.
Absolute banger ❤
A super british group from the 80s! Very underrated in US!

I want to relive the 80s every single day!
Do it!!! ❤😊
From day one to the end and start over on repeat
Love the song but never got so excited about hearing it as you! So enjoyable to watch.
Easily one of my favorite 80's songs.
L❤VE your energy!!! Keep on rockin'!!
Level 42 was an iconic 80's jazz funk band...that's still fresh today!!
Wow you loved this one right off the bat!
You're awesome
Makes you happy! An dancin!

love it
Ace thank you for being you...much love
You really need to see a live version of this track from the 80s. That bass line is all Mark King on bass while he sings!
This is my favorite 80s hit!

Level 42 has a bunch of great songs
Lessons In Love is great
one of my fave 80s songs! ♥
The sound quality on this track was the super duper el Supremo‼️Pristine & oh so clean! Thank you.
Love your reaction! Great song!! Level 42 is a fantastic band with a deep catalog. Mark King plays the bass in a unique method called slapping which is cool to watch. He is also the lead singer.

Love Love Your Reaction And Your Energy......❤💯
Wembley’s 86 Bass Solo followed by Love Games and Live at Reading 2001 Foundation and Empire are a must listen/watch
They started like Jazz Funk then turned into more Pop and more commercial. Both brilliant.
Children Say, another classic Level 42 hit, was a favorite as well!
Top fave band when I was in high school
Running in the family is great by these...worth a listen
! ! ! Soon as I saw the title, I knew you'd be wowed by it.
Yup! 💖 ☺️
To be with you again
The whole album is great!
Listen to Lessons In Love another good one from Level 42
Starchild, Children say, To be with you again. All fire bro
Take it to the next level and take a listen to "43" or "The Pursuit of Accidents" or "Love Games" - fantastic grooves!!!
Level 42 are incredible. Lessons in Love should be next but Hot Water (the extended mix) is another level, maybe Level 43? Also Micro-Kids, Weave Your Spell, and World Machine can get you started. This band has an impeccable groove!
One of the best from the 80's, if you like bass, listen to Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Victor Wooten is a GOD,
Try Physical Presence by Level 42 it's an AMAZING SONG
If you're liking the bass, you should try the group Slave. Try "just a touch of love", or near anything off the "stone jam" or "showtime" album.
This was recommended under another video, with the same tittle!
I can really feel the quality of your carpet.
Oh Yes!!!
Mark King. Best bass player ever. I think he did well, but should have focussed on bass as he owns it.
Try “Love Games” by this band!
If Ace diggs in Bass, please don't let him listen to Love Games, the sun goes down or to be with you again by same group. His brain will melt.
Yet and still, Louis Johnson was THE INVENTOR of thumb slapping the bass guitar before level 42 was born. NOT mark king.
Love the Brothers but it’s not Louis Johnson either…Larry Graham of Sly & the Family Stone would like a word with you…
Lessons in love,next
Ace, you should find a young lady to do reactions with you and dance with you in them when the spirit moves you both!! LOved this reaction! HIlarious -- but I get it the joy -- this song is fantastic!!!
Plaese react to Spargo- Just For You,-or another banger of them- You And Me
I’M NOT SUGGESTING ANY OF THE BAND MEMBERS KNOW OR KNEW THIS, HOWEVER, 42 , BIBLICALLY SPEAKING MEANS THE HIGHEST SPIRITUAL ATTAINMENT ACHIEVABLE ONTHE EARTHLY PLANE… GODSPEED
99% chance your mother knows this song. Let us know if she knows, Ace. Thx.
