@@garrettsfo It actually started in London then played all over this country. I saw it twice in Chicago at the Blackstone in 1970. I called it a rock opera eause that is how it was billed and, if you google rock operas ocf the 1960s Hair comes up along with 'Tommy", "Jesus Christ Super Star", Pink Floyd's "The Wall''" and Queen's "A Night At The Opera".
“ Ace” three dog night actually had three lead singers but the one right there his name is Chuck Negron such an underrated lead singer of any band he truly was!!!😘👍
3DN is singing another cover from the musical "HAIR", as someone mentioned below. Chuck Negron is the lead on this, exceptional as usual. Plus when you have a chance watch the musical HAIR, lots of iconic songs with fantastic singers.
By the way” Ace” it truly is a disgrace that the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame committee has never nominated them a single time for the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame!!! But of course this committee is made up of a bunch of young people now who have no problem inducting a bunch of hip-hop and rappers into the Hall of Fame instead of some of these old-timers with great talent and of course great vocals!!!” What a shame”🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️😳😳☹️☹️😢😢😢💔💔💔
Nice. Hair was the hippie musical of the sixties. When I was a kid growing up in the seventies and began to grow curious about music and records and record collections, I could tell if my friends parents were "hippies" by whether they had a copy of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Hair in their collection or not. That album was the last Broadway cast album to go to number one in the U.S. charts, way back in 1969, so it was in a lot of collections. I bought myself a copy of it when I was in college, closer to twenty years after it left the charts. A lot can be said about Hair. I'm sure some of the songs in it still shock. It wasn't in my parents collection, but cover versions of the songs in the musical became pop hits for a few years and I remember hearing them on the radio stations my parents listened to -- "Easy To Be Hard" for Three Dog Night, "Good Morning Starshine" for Oliver, "Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In" for The 5th Dimension. For a trippy taste of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Hair check out "Walking In Space".
Great choice Ace, the song is awesome,! Definitely Chuck Negron is one of the greatest singers ever. Im listening to music since 1958 my favorite groups top 3 are CCR, Three Dig Night and the Rascals, Four would be the Animals. The 60s reigned for great singers and songs.
I have never heard this one before. So beautiful. What was even more beautiful was opening up about yourself. In my book, that takes real strength. If you celebrate and practice kindness, I'd be honored to consider you a friend. 🥰
This is Chuck Negron. He sings a couple if beautifully done songs like this. " Pieces of April" and "Til the World Ends". You are so soulful and introspective, I think you would be so impressed.
From tribal rock musical, "Hair", but covered the best by 3 Dog Night. Also the show that gave us Age Of Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In, covered brilliantly by 5th Dimension
I know how you feel about not having friends. The older I got they moved on and I moved on. It happens. They say friends for a reason, a season or a lifetime...get out there and make new ones. You have us of course. God bless.
I can remember them getting criticism for not writing their own songs but that never mattered at all to me. They could certainly sing them and arrange them and make them their own.
Chuck nergron singing here.cory well and. Danny Hutton the other singers. Mike allsup guitar.jor schmeie bass.jimy greenspoon keyboard.floyd Sneed drums Cory ,Jimmy and Floyd are gone.chuc left the group in the early 80_
Hey friend, I’m glad you don’t go with the crowd. I don’t either. Kudos Ace❣️ It gets lonely when you are being true to yourself, but you are not alone, friend.😊 🫂
Are you familiar with the song "Pedro"? This one will get you dancing in your chair 😁 It was 1st sung by Raffaella Carrà and was remixed fairly recently by Jaxomy and Agatino Romero !!! Jaxomy's version is a very catchy electronic song that will get you up and moving for sure!
Only a few reactors who actually got this song...people can care about strangers, social injustice, etc...the big picture where they can be seen as cool,...but, where they can make an actual impact, can make a difference right in their own circle, with their friends...they are unavailable...they aren't really as caring as they like to be seen...
TDN had a few socially aware songs that would be considered "woke" now. "One" & "Black & White" are just as awesome as this one. Man's inhumanity toward man is a common theme in Art, especially when it is apparent in society as it was then & is now, too.
No...this was real. If want to see the best live performances of them in their prime, get their videos from a 1975 TV special. Everyone of their best hits were done there. You won't be disappointed! They were in their prime. Ive never seen them block one.
It's one of my favorite three dog night songs. Out in the Country is still my pick as their best. Their worst to me is Joy to the World. I really just am sick of that one.
This is from the musical "Hair."
Yes, it was a song in "Hair", but I don't think it was made for that musical. Both versions are moving & heartfelt.
This song is from the 1969 rock opera "Hair".
It was a musical that played on Broadway. I saw it in the theater in Boston. Not really a rock opera.

That's one measure of great music, if it touched a listener's emotions.
3 Dog Night did a Otis Redding song, (Try a Little Tenderness), You've got to listen to by both music artists, Both are really great !!!

I truly believe that music from the 60s and 70s had a more positive side to them, not all the songs, but a good majority.
1967-69 ... a wonderful time for music!
' Out in the country ' is another great lyrical song from this band
Another of their many big Top ten hits❤

excellent song.
You have a friend here Ace👍
One of the greatest songs to come out of the late 60’s. TDN were simply fantastic!

I love your genuine reaction. It is like hearing these songs for the 1st time. Thank you. ❤
From tribal rock musical, "Hair", but covered the best by 3 Dog Night. Also the show that gave us Age Of Aquarius/Let The Sunshine In, covered brilliantly by 5th Dimension

Glad you like this song, one of my favorites from my younger years..66 yrs old now, but the message of this song is still relevant.
He's saying how can you only care about the bleeding crowd but what about me, I need a friend.
Probably the most beautiful song from "Hair."
😅😅😅😅
I know how you feel about not having friends. The older I got they moved on and I moved on. It happens. They say friends for a reason, a season or a lifetime...get out there and make new ones. You have us of course. God bless.
My favorite reaction from you. 🥰💗💗💗 This song, and Three Dog Night are Brilliant.
you have to remember three dog night had three great singers at any given song they would sing lead on their hits !
Yea that was a Mic Drop...❤❤❤
I can remember them getting criticism for not writing their own songs but that never mattered at all to me.
They could certainly sing them and arrange them and make them their own.
That amazing voice.
And yes , how indeed.
ESPECIALLY PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT STRANGERS, EVIL AND SOCIAL INJUSTICE ..Then and Now! ❤

Maybe my favorite song from them.
You have to hear Cheryl Barnes sing this song for the musical "Hair"
Only a few reactors who actually got this song...people can care about strangers, social injustice, etc...the big picture where they can be seen as cool,...but, where they can make an actual impact, can make a difference right in their own circle, with their friends...they are unavailable...they aren't really as caring as they like to be seen...
❤❤❤ my favorite 3DN song, hands down!
He said , Do you only care about the IN crowd?
How about a needy friend, oh I need a friend.
about the bleeding crowd, how about a needing friend....
Love your reaction. This is a song for lonely people. Three Dog night my favorite.
My favorite jam.
I notice you have a blank wall behind you. Why don't you list some of your favorite songs that touched your Soul like this Song
