    5 of us drove from Middlesbrough to Milton Keynes on nye 1999 with tickets for the last ever Helter Skelter. The queue was fucking massive, queued for 2-3 hours, 4 of us got through the gate only for the last lad to forgot his ID. Bouncers were having none of it. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Couldn't leave the lad on his own could we, so we jumped back in the car, belted back up the motorway for 4+ hours and got back to boro just before midnight as the pills were peaking and we had a fucking wicked night. Stuck together as a group to this day, we're all tight as fuck and know that we've all got each others back. Things like that make a proper group or break a fake group. Love ya boys 🤪

      That’s what mates are all about you should have gone to another rave like die hard or Doncaster warehouse but that said being off your nut the thought process is fucked

      Cool... as you say its memories... one of the best raves I went to at the sanctuary was life utopia and elevation... lost count of raves went to years after that but was around 95 96ish started going smaller clubs and got bit bored of the jungle scene reverse basslines n stuff which came about ...and ended up in doos in South London.. proper underground they were... likes of hellraiser etc... extreme hard-core gabber speedcore scene...was mental.. then acid techno doos.. and back to d n b and House music in wharehouses around bagleys.. Kings Cross... some of them nights were not planned went out suited n booted and after a few drinks.. ended up in a dirty warehouse rave.. unplanned nights were sometimes the best..
      Shame as now loads of venues are all blocks of rip off priced flats.. now my kids go out and I tell them you woulda loved my day.. 😆
      But props to you fella.. would have been a great send off.. last rave ever in a legendary venue..
      Kind of jealous 👍🏽

    This is the video they gave out about the history of Skelter - The Millennium Jam itself was a bit of a let down to be honest. Still a good night out though and I am glad I saw them off after 6 years of events. The closing night that Slammin Vinyl did @ The Sanctuary Music Arena in 2004 was a better closing chapter (after all, thanks to Accelerated Culture and Human Traffic Skelter stuck around a bit longer).

      The problem was the rave scene ran out of years... it was a 90s thing . I was there from 1993 up untill the end of 1998 then the likes of Godskitchen, Sundisessental, Trade and Gatecrasher etc took the reigns of dance music and that was that .....we all went trance and hard house mad
      Good times where had though 😁👌
      forward ever,backward never 👍❤

    • @whynotagain3639
      @whynotagain3639 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah the problem was deciding to ignore 55% of your loyal ravers and dropping happy hardcore. Decadence the month earlier was the last true Helter-skelter at the Denbigh leisure park, complete sell out.
      Dave and Penny were greedy charging £100 a ticket for NYE 1999 so it was a massive flop.

    • @satis1983
      @satis1983 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I abandoned the hardcore scene because of the lack of new tunes coming out. Tape packs from event to event just had the same old tunes from 96 to 99, plus a lot of the new tunes were just rehashed chart rubbish. Jungle DJs tried to keep it fresh by playing dub plates. The hardcore scene stagnated whilst the dnb scene moved forward. That's my take on it anyway.

    • @dannywholuv
      @dannywholuv ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hardcore is extreme music so eventually people get sick of the excess and therefore it has to change. Problem is, it changes too much you just lose ton of followers that think 'that aint hardcore. Its purely for the rush, alot of people dont think theres much music quality sadly

    • @dc110770

      @@BazingaTingit depends on how you look at it. Yes it was a 90’s thing but it went back to the acid house days which started in the late 80’s. Early 90’s to the end of 93 for me. The scene really started to split and thus many people moved to house music including myself, dissatisfied with the loss of breakbeat. Still some amazing times.
