My childhood 1980s summer holidays memories were of riding on a Droningborg combine, the smell of pipe tobacco still takes me back to being 8 and waiting at the headland for my daily ride!

It's great listening to your dad. Definitely has some experiences with the machinery and you can tell he knows what he's on about! Would be cool to see some of the old pics he has (obviously if we're allowed!)

Great video chaps. Sorry comment Alot but Alot of farmers contractors changing from J. D to Claas. 2012 was a nightmare trying to repleve what patatoes we could with 2 trailed harvesters and 6 Tractors hauling stuff.

Fond memories of the estates 1085 and 985 working together as a kid. Often they'd be working alongside another local farms two Clayson 8080s. Also one of the first farms to load directly into lorries parked in the field.

    Fantastic episode!!!!
Combines always fascinate me.such clever machines. We wouldn’t have weetabix in this country or green giant if it wasn’t for combines..

Nice chat with your dad 👌🏼 love old combines my young time round farm was mostly New Holland and John Deere though I loved MF toys. Remember taking one apart to see how the separation worked but shame toys had no inside details 😕 Have you seen the Ideal workings on fendt, that really seems to have a fast throughput with big drum and John Deere have a new similarity design.

    • @NicksFarm

Thanks 👍 my son has a toy JD combine and the detail on that I think is pretty good 👍 I’m not familiar with fendt machines at all I’m afraid 😬

Nick's Farm yes the toys are pretty cool now and R/C Germany 🇩🇪 ones are wonderful. Fendt & MF, CASE, New Holland are AGCO so they are quite similar combines.

Love the chat with dad, nick. What's dad's name?
My father's Guvnor, has had new Holland since the mid seventies up until five six years ago, now they've shared the cost with their cousins and got a Class that does all their farms, I think around 1800 acres. The cousins have had Class since the seventies and it's their sole employee that drives it. Before that, my dad said his Guvnor had Massey and John Deere. 5000 were and are great tractors just bloody noisy!!!
    Take care to you all.
