    Dont go to America, England, Canada or Australia expecting a better life as a low skilled migrant earning minimum wage. Your large family will still be in a 2 bedroom unit and that's if you are lucky enough to find a rental! Strong competition for rentals everywhere and rent prices are high and minimum wage won't feed your large family. Not everyone in the Western world is rich, many are struggling living in cars and tents.

      Many people think the grass is always greener on the other side. I have alot of educated friends that moved to Canada, New Zealand and Switzerland on work visa cos the wages there was good but the cost of living there was so high, they couldn't afford luxuries they could afford in South africa. We have the 2nd lowest cost of living and people still complain.

      @@emsik185 that's right. Even in my country, The United States, the land of opportunity, the system is set up such that, even if you get an education, the average person will have to go into massive, almost inescapable debt, to do it.

Your comment I presume will only start a comment war but it will not help those in Lebanon who are suffering. There is no one true god as different religions exist, flat out stating what you personally believe in is selfish and wrong. If God loves everyone, then God will allow different believes that honour their name/names. Exclusion of others just because they’re not the same as only cause chaos and violence. Therefore you making such a bold statement that will offend many people only contributes to what God wants from Humanity in a negative way. If you’re truly Christian and not just an internet troll, I urge to be more mindful that different opinions exist/are allowed and that respecting them is the first thing you need to acknowledge as a truly good hearted person. I have nothing against Christianity, but these flat out statements does nothing but divide people.

      @@anarchy_79wdym, most* of Europe is helping out Ukraine and so is USA… sort of.
      China and India remains impartial, but that’s because they have a lot to gain from stating neutral and friends w/ Russia (but a lot to lose if they became enemies).
      I assume it’s the same w/ India, but all I know is that China heavily does things for personal gain (personal as in the country). It doesn’t care if another suffers, unless it makes them look bad. China is a very cautious and strategic country (compared to others) and only meddle with things when their own economy is suffering bc of it or they can gain smth out of it. The Middle East has been fighting w/ each other since idk how long, yet china rarely involves as it knows that all of them have oil to give (or other material to give) so picking a side would mean no trade from the other. The funding to most African country was also very strategic and so are the funding towards SEA countries. China is quite frankly, buying trust and recognition. Not everything has to be physical to have importance. Another example is it’s ‘threats’ towards Taiwan, trying to scare Taiwan (well, I think the actual target is USA). It hasn’t and will probably never actually attack Taiwan as long as USA’s behind them, because it knows if they laid a finger on it they would receive huge backlash and the economy would crumble, plus the relationship between USA and China is delicate enough and can break @ any moment. (It’s one of those, ‘I disagree with you and I hate everything you stand for, but you’re beneficial to me so let’s be friends’ relationships).
      At the end of the day, bad things will always happen, we can try our best to make things better but sadly it’s mainly up to those at the top…let’s just hope for a world with as much peace as possible if world peace cannot be possible.

    In the 1967 this was the Switzerland and financial capital of the Middle East. It changed when the bipartisan government of Christians and Muslims was changed to a Muslim government. Under the protection of the U.N., the imported PLO drove the Christians out of power and the current economic situation is the result of a religious totalitarian government.

    FACT: In the mid-20th century, Lebanon was one of the wealthiest and most prosperous countries in the Middle East. Its capital, Beirut, was once known as the Paris of the Middle East. It was the only state in the Middle East where Christianity was dominant, at one point making up over 60% of the population.

      @Youdontdreamincryo In the 60's and 70's Christians had become minority in Lebanon and Muslims had become majority Lebanon . As the Islamic population grew in Lebanon , the country became less tolerant because the muslims were pushing for rights that were not compatible with Christian value system of Lebanon.
      Then the influx of Palestinians in 70's. And Muslim Palestinians wanted to create a base to fight Israel.

    40 years ago I was picked up in Ottawa at the train station by a taxi. The driver was from Lebanon. He insisted that I put my bag in his trunk. Not thinking much about it, I put my bag in the trunk. It was the holidays and my bag was full of my best clothes and shoes. As we drove he told me how resourceful Lebanese people were. The ongoing civil war had destroyed the power grid so people figured out how to steal from the grid. He said there was little food and he blamed the Christians and the Jews. When he dropped me off, he took off so fast I never even got a chance to walk to the back of the car to get my bag from the trunk. Even tho the cabs at the train station required a special permit, the cab co was sure this guy was 'rogue' and he was never found. 40 years I'm seeing the same issues!

  • @MrWaterbugdesign
    @MrWaterbugdesign ปีที่แล้ว +20

    The 1975 civil war wasn't a good idea. Killing your neighbors turns out to not be as much fun as it once sounded. Letting Palestinian militants into Lebanon also wasn't too bright. The concept that a people share the same religion as you so therefore they share your values doesn't seem to be too bright. Letting people who love to fight, fighting is all they know, into your country and they then start causing trouble shouldn't have been a surprise.
    Before 1975 Lebanon was very Western and doing extremely well. But the Lebanese people decided to move toward religious war and chaos. Let's be clear, there are still many Lebanese living well in this created chaos. It's the people who have allowed themselves to be manipulated who are the cause.

    Lebaese weddings are the biggest and most lavish weddings anywhere.......How about your rich Lebanese start paying their taxes rather than scamming their government of taxes so that their daughter ( who only really wants a simple wedding) isn't forced into a wedding where her father invites 600 people and spends $200,000 on the event. Type in Lebanese weddings because these always come up as the most over the top events. Fire works, helicopters, paying for premier ballet companies to dance at the event, $50,000 of flowers shipped in from overseas........It's crazy.
