Tom Toms birdhouse should become an after hours customer KEY DROP BOX. That way everyone will know where the customers keys are. It'll also be a constant reminder that no one is perfect ( especially with THAT chimney ) and serve a useful purpose. Good job Tom
I can live with the "chimney" it's that butchered front door opening that's the deal breaker, hope no birds are injured getting in or out of it. Never mind, without some insulation it is going to be too hot or cold for any self respecting crested flycatcher. Had to do a little edit, I don't want my comment to come off as critical or mean, just teasing, considering the handicaps imposed it was a great job, better than most of us could do for sure.
I don't get it. Why would people drop off their cars? It's not a mechanic shop. Some people may have to come pick up their car but not the other way around.

I am most impressed by Matt putting the wrecker on other peoples channels before he showed it on the road. It is trending number 8 right now and is a huge bump for his friends. The show has come so far since Matt and Ed started filming on cell phones. The genuine affection and compassion and character still shows in the videos. The addition of Tom Tom has been great. He and Matt interact as peers more than previous members of the team.

I felt like I just jumped out of a time machine when Lizzy said it was 11 days away from the one year starting date on this project. I can't believe it's been that long already. True what they say about how time flies. I've thoroughly enjoyed following along on this project. It looks amazing. It sounds awesome. I can hardly wait to see it work. Just awesome!

There’s two kinds of TH-camrs. Those who climb over whoever they can to scavenge attention and clicks and solid folk like Matt who bring along everyone they can as they document their passion projects.
Honestly it makes sense from a viewership standpoint too. We would all be less likely to watch there videos if this came out first. I bet they plan some of there video realses out so we can actually wat h them back to back.
For Matt's punishment he should have to build a metric bird house with a caliper that is accurate down to 0.25mm. Also, all the walls must have an angle of π/2 radians.
I'd rather see matt build a birdhouse using nothing but computer-controlled equipment. Programmed CNC anything is available, but no grinders, hammers, handheld anything.

Terrific to see the work progressing - and this video was released the day after I made my first ever visit to the MORR shop. When I showed up yesterday Matt was driving the wrecker, giving a young fellow a fun ride. I felt lucky to have caught Matt at the shop on a Saturday. Matt is a master of making things work, especially if he can tweak things as he goes. So I think his challenge should be building all the parts to detailed drawings, and not allowed to reposition or disassemble any parts once they've been connected. Bonus points if he uses the most appropriate tool in his shop for each process.

Really enjoyed the show and it spun me off to all the other recovery folks you associate with. Thanks. Got a tip for yall, If you are welding long lengths on any material its a good practice to stitch weld then switch to the other side and stagger your welds. If you need a full weld, come back after it cools and fill the spaces. It will help with the warpage. Yall are killing it with the wrecker!! It looks like the birdhouse with the bottom in it and maybe a front door it could wind up being more of a chicken cooker, sitting out in the hot sun y’all have during the summer!
Matt needs to make a bird to fit into the birdhouse, using the same grinder and welder as Tom did. The bird's head should be peeking out the entrance hole. Well done, Tom.
Tom's birdhouse will have sold by then, so I suggest the following: Matt also has to build a birdhouse, with the same dimensions as his original drawing. Matt can use every tool he wants except for grinders and welders. His birdhouse has to be precise to the millimeter.
Matt should have to build a birdhouse to the exact same dimensions, but it has to be super precise and very nice. Within 1/32 of an inch on every dimension. He is allowed to use any tool in the shop, but bonus points for fancier tools like the mill, tig welder and safety glasses.
Make him measure every step and keep a log. Marked something? Better have measured before and after. Grinded something? Measure before and after. And mark everything down.
OR…he must convert the birdhouse to a drawing that is to-scale on graphing paper….seeing as he always does rough drawing and cardboard. 😂 the opposite of Tom’s punishment.

Matt should have to make a gas gauge for the wrecker that beeps at you like a smoke alarm when the battery is low when the tank is below a 1/4 tank.
Matt should have to do that for all his vehicles. OTOH, could you watch a 20 minute video with 20 minutes of beeping???

For Matt's punishment he should have to build a metric bird house with a caliper that is accurate down to 0.25mm. Also, all the walls must have an angle of π/2 radians.
And it should be made out one folded sheet! cut it, bend it, weld it....
I'd rather see matt build a birdhouse using nothing but computer-controlled equipment. Programmed CNC anything is available, but no grinders, hammers, handheld anything.

Matt and Tom and Lizzy have done an awesome job over the last year building this biggest wrecker for the off road recovery's that Matt encounters constantly and will be a great addition to his arsenal of recovery vehicles. Lizzy's welding has really improved and is great. Congrats Tom on your birdhouse it awesome!

Terrific to see the work progressing - and this video was released the day after I made my first ever visit to the MORR shop. When I showed up yesterday Matt was driving the wrecker, giving a young fellow a fun ride. I felt lucky to have caught Matt at the shop on a Saturday. That wrecker seems larger when I was standing next to it, for sure! // Tom Tom - great work on the birdhouse!
Tom Tom has been a great addition to the crew. He’s great on both sides of the camera and has the kind of personality that just makes you think he’s your friend. He’s also excellent at his job.

Great job on the bird house, Tom. Great job on the heavy wrecker, MORR team. If you do have a "birthday" party for the wrecker, you will need to have everyone that worked on it there like Tucker, Trevor, and Rudy (to name a few).
If you ever run out of tow mounts, you can use that pedal mount to pull with.
To think you all created that monster from scratch in under a year is amazing. Been great watching the build progress, cannot wait to see her out in the desert. Just be gentle on the drive shafts! 🙂

Guys I've been watching the wrecker build since day 1 and this gave ME goosebumps....I can only imagine the feeling it gave Matt... Congratulations Matt.... Great Job guys.... Simply Awesome.....
Matt is a master of making things work, especially if he can tweak things as he goes. So I think his challenge should be building all the parts to detailed drawings, and not allowed to reposition or disassemble any parts once they've been connected. Bonus points if he uses the most appropriate tool in his shop for each process.
Kudos to all who worked to help create the wrecker. A joy to watch for all viewers. A special shout to Matt and all his family and friends that have befriended and cared for Ed. Having the privilege to personally meet Ed, Lizzie, and Hefe I can say Ed's stage of life is a happy, happy one. 😊

First off, Tom did a great job on that bird house and finally, You all took a leap of faith to build the world’s largest off road wrecker and you have achieved your first real milestone and have a working model. Next will be finishing it off and then I would assume a period of fine tuning which can only be done once you put it to work. The giant wrecker build is how I found your channel. From a suggested video. It was only a few months ago so I binge watched all of the builds and a bunch more. Really enjoyed the show and it spun me off to all the other recovery folks you associate with. Thanks. Even though I am in TN and know nothing about rock crawling, I do enjoy the build and engineering that goes into doing that.

Got a tip for yall, If you are welding long lengths on any material its a good practice to stitch weld then switch to the other side and stagger your welds. If you need a full weld, come back after it cools and fill the spaces. It will help with the warpage. Yall are killing it with the wrecker!! I love the recovery rope too

Matt needs to make a bird to fit into the birdhouse, using the same grinder and welder as Tom did. The bird's head should be peeking out the entrance hole.

I like the idea that every time someone needs to be punished, they have to build something for the birdhouse.
Tom's birdhouse will have sold by then, so I suggest the following:
Matt also has to build a birdhouse, with the same dimensions as his original drawing. Matt can use every tool he wants except for grinders and welders. His birdhouse has to be precise to the millimeter.
This is seriously a huge accomplishment. Complete frame up build, an insane amount of work, and an amazing result that will just keep getting better.

Been following since everyone was complaining about using the frame as the air tank. So cool seeing this thing alive!
Matt should have to build a birdhouse to the exact same dimensions, but it has to be super precise and very nice. Within 1/32 of an inch on every dimension. He is allowed to use any tool in the shop, but bonus points for fancier tools like the mill, tig welder and safety glasses.

No grinder except with flap disk. Everything must be cut to exact angles in one pass.
Points deducted for every weld that is below lizzy standards.
Make him measure every step and keep a log. Marked something? Better have measured before and after. Grinded something? Measure before and after. And mark everything down.
OR…he must convert the birdhouse to a drawing that is to-scale on graphing paper….seeing as he always does rough drawing and cardboard. 😂 the opposite of Tom’s punishment.

Matt and team congrats, believe me I've had a couple of frame off builds, but to build the frame from scratch on top of any and set backs, it's a milestone. All of the headaches and late nights, burns, cuts and mistakes are forgotten the very first time you turn that ignition and press the gas pedal. Congratulations guys. 🎊
