I can live with the "chimney" it's that butchered front door opening that's the deal breaker, hope no birds are injured getting in or out of it. Never mind, without some insulation it is going to be too hot or cold for any self respecting crested flycatcher. Had to do a little edit, I don't want my comment to come off as critical or mean, just teasing, considering the handicaps imposed it was a great job, better than most of us could do for sure.

For anyone who is interested: A rack unit is a unit of measure defined as 1+3⁄4 inches. It is most frequently used as a measurement of the overall height of 19-inch and 23-inch rack frames, as well as the height of equipment that mounts in these frames, whereby the height of the frame or equipment is expressed as multiples of rack units. On the roof pitch, instead of using trig to get the angle which brings in square root, he should have just done a simple ratio. You have the run which is half the width. 7.25/2 which is 3.625. Basically 7/12 = x/3.625. Then do what we called the treasure map method. So 7*3.625/12. That equals 2.11. So add 2 1/8 to your height. This gives the rise. So all you have to do is put something across the points and it should be at the proper angle. And I’m a nerd and everyone should kick me for thinking about this for longer than the 30 sec it was on screen.

@@jessepitt congratulations, you just told me to never hire you because you’ll spend more time doing math than building anything. I kid, but carpentry is irrelevant. For one, you wouldn’t be in a situation where you had only one measurement and no way but math to get the others and b) if you did have to do it you’d have tables that tell you all the math in which case I would agree because my point is about what’s quicker. It makes no sense to say, I’m going to do it the way that requires algebra and figuring square roots by hand when a simple multiplication and division would do the same but you do you.
