      When you hide a sandwich in your wetsuit while swimming, put it underneath your trisuit so you may still keep it without the risk of losing in T1 👌🤣🤣

    What about the sand?

    The image of feet wet and ful of sand going with no socks on tight bike shoes makes me sick 😰😰

    how do athletes deal with the sand on their feet?

    • @samhoward9
      @samhoward9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      put up with it... depends on distance, sprint and standard I just deal with it after the race... longer wash with a spare water bottle.... and pop socks on. :D

    T1 would be easier for me if it wasn't for the fact I have to put my contacts in hehe.

    What about sand in your shoes? Will that cause foot irritation?

    • @TheFeldhamster

      I saw on some other vids the tip to have a spare bottle of water to wash sand/dirt from your feet. Esp. if there was that much sand (or dirt) on your way to the transition area and the organizers don't put down carpet for you to run on it's really nice to have a quick way to clean your feet. And yes, some triathlons have quite a long way to run from the water to the transition area and sometimes don't put down enough carpet for you to run on. The longest I once ran was 400 meters - with almost none of that being carpeted. You don't want to have all that stuff in your shoes.

      Have a bottle of water next to your bike and maybe a bucket - quick way to clean your feet off - sand in your shoes and riding for 100 miles is no good

    I’ve had issues coming into T1 with cramps in my shins! Of all places, then my calves. Any ideas or help with that? I’ve stalled getting out of the water because of it.

    Do you have to use a wet suit?

  • @keirdoubas
    @keirdoubas 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Two question, 1, is it compulsory to wear a wetsuit in a race and 2 where is the best place to place energy gels? tia

    • @samhoward9
      @samhoward9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes if water is below a certain degrees depending on country organisers usually 21degrees I think. Energy gels on bike in a bike top tube compartment or you can buy strips to hold on to your top tube. Run on a belt. Good Luck

    Do your cycling clothes not get wet under your wetsuit?

    • @dennisblock6584
      @dennisblock6584 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ashleigh was thinking the same thing. So it doesn’t bother, that the pad is soaking wet before you jump on the bike?

    • @rainbowevil
      @rainbowevil 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dennisblock6584 they’re much thinner pads than pure cycling short pads, so they can dry out a bit while cycling, but yeah pretty sure they will be wet.

    Why not use footage from a real T1, your bike leaned against a rock was asinine
