When I read the comments it makes me wonder what has happened to peoples compassion and kindness. A little kindness goes a long way and cost nothing. I am sorry for these peoples loss and suffering. I wish them well. How hard was that.

Why rebuild it? It's not like the grist mill needs a pond with a Dam any more. Just build a bridge to replace the washout. The stream now running through the empty pond is literally the missing "Brook" in Stony Brook, missing for hundreds of years. Landscape the area up nice and make it part of Avalon Park. Make Stony Brook Stony Brook Again

Show us the dams before and after.
    Mill pond dam.
    Blydenberg dam.
    "The dam just failed" ???
Things don't 'just fail'. Lack of maintenance? Improper engineering?Spillways are suppose to release excess water without damage to the dam or grounds below. New Orleans levees failures after Katrina come to mind. Why where these dams built? What was there before the dams? When were they built? What was the life span of the dams? Who built them? Who is responsible for inspecting and maintaining them?
Can the homeowners collect from them for damages?
Mill pond and Blydenberg lake before their dams failed where beautiful wildlife ecosystems. However they where not natural. They were artifically flooded areas. Why?
These are questions that should be asked and answered.

We don’t have to get flooded to have compassion. And Gazans are welcome in America if they choose to come here. It’s a terrible attitude to want to drag everyone else down because one person is down. It should be the opposite, we should want to lift everybody up and help everybody. As long as you suffer from jealousy and envy, hatred and resentment, God will never bless you.

@@khairulislam3053 This is a very complicated situation. Here is an overview of how I see this current conflict: the US gives Israel more support than we should, but we’re not directly funding this war. In fact President Biden is calling for a cease-fire. So is Harris. I fully support a ceasefire and am entirely against the killing and wounding of civilians. That said, I consider Netanyahu a very evil man. I personally believe he was one of the masterminds behind 9-11. He has killed more Americans than any other world leader in modern history. But what Hamas did to the innocent people at the music festival, mostly left wing youths who were actually favorable toward the Palestinians, was and is unforgivable. Horrific. But also horrific is the continued bombing of innocent poor civilians in Gaza. I have been suspicious as to what may have provoked Hamas to attack those little farmers, hippies, etc… why them? Honestly, that’s a group more likely to support the Labor Party and not Likud. So that makes me think that Netanyahu was behind the attack in some way. He doesn’t mind using non-supporters as pawns for his ultimate purpose which is to empty out Gaza and clear the Temple Mount to make way for the rebuilding of their Temple and the removal of the Al Aqua Mosque and the Dome of the Rock. He needs an excuse to start killing millions of Palestinians and reclaim the Land. But keep in mind, most Israelis and most American Jews are totally against this. This is the evil plan of Netanyahu and those with him. We’ve come to a point in time when Netanyahu wants to take credit for bringing back the Temple and its animal sacrifices, which as a Christian and an animal lover, I find hideous, dangerous, and blasphemous. The regular people of Israel, like the kids at the concert, are innocent of these crimes and do not desire to dominate the world the way Netanyahu does. So who then owns Israel? This is a whole other question and a very complicated one.
