DUDE. Vinny's Beyond Belief; Fact or Fiction rant. It helped me find out what show I saw once on tv when I was really little!
I was supposed to be sleeping, but I woke up and went downstairs, and I saw an episode of it on. It was the "Grave Sitting" story episode, and I think I saw the whole thing, because I remember him telling the audience it had been real. It continued to baffle me for years until just now. The whole episode was a scary blur for me as a kid, but that one story really stuck out to me.
*Basically, Vinny just solved a mystery that's been bugging me my whole life.*
Derp Nottus Ah, closure
The second that Vinny brought up that Beyond Belief Fact or Fiction has entire episodes on TH-cam, I paused and marathoned them for hours!
Creepy ass kokiri just giggling over people dying....
Also Vinny using din's fire on a waterfall thinking it was ice is hilarious.

He went from Mexiking to Ned from South Park
I've never liked the whole "Majora's Mask was all in Link's head" theory just because I feel like it trivializes everything you did. Like, I didn't just save the world and help make everyone happy, like a hero? That's a feeling I don't really like the idea of losing. I mean, there's no evidence to definitively prove or disprove anything, but I like to think that Link really did overcome these trials and tribulations, not for himself, but for others. I guess that what makes him such a good protagonist though. Since he doesn't talk, you can put yourself in his shoes, go about your own motivations, and mae the adventure more in your own image. So, cheers to all those believers and non-believers in theories alike. Whatever makes the game more fun.
+Patrick Stewart I think it would work if it was in his head, as all the areas represent the five stages of grief. Clock Town is the first stage, denial. Nobody wants to believe that the moon is falling. Woodfall is anger. The Deku King believes that the monkey kidnapped his daughter, and sentences him to death in a fit of blind rage. Snowhead is bargaining. The freezing gorons hope their hero who died shortly before the events of the game will save them, knowing full well that he's dead. Finally, Ikana is acceptance. Link is given no new masks to change his identity in this region, and he must face his own sadness and move on from the lost of the friend that started the journey.
oh and I forgot Great Bay, duh. That one is the fourth stage, depression. Lulu is depressed and can no longer sing due to her eggs being stolen and her lover dying while trying to rescue them.
It has kind of been confirmed in an interview though that Majora's Mask is not about Link coming to terms with Navi's ''death''... Of course these emotions you are mentioning do appear in the game (i.e. Like you said, Lulu is depressed), but the person that was interviewed said that there are many more emotions and atmospheres and feelings used for these places, and characters. He said the areas do not necessarily represent the stages of grief, and Majora's Mask is not something that happens inside of Link's mind.
@@dundeey9602 then who the fuck he is greving over? Navi died and its said he is looking for a lost freind, sara? Sheik?
@@everythingpony him looking for navi is only a plotpoint for what he has been doing inbetween majoras mask and ocarina of time. but it is not what the game is about. As far as i see it he went right back to looking for navi right after saving everyone. Wich in turn also explains why he ends up as said skeleton as he gets lost in the forest while continuing his search.
That bald man, he's the mayor. My mayor.
Hyrule warriors just came out and now I can't stop calling Skulltulas "Sktulas".
Fairies in jars: Navi seems perfectly fine with you putting other fairies in jars.
Maybe for them it's comfy, like how cats feel about cardboard boxes or paper bags. When you reach 0hp and need their help, they seem perfectly able to exit the jars on their own to heal you, so they could probably leave at any time if they really wanted to.
To them it could be like tourism, hanging out and watching your adventure from within your jars.
50:08 I love how you are skeptical. Always question things that seem strange or fishy, or just contrary to reality. Change your mind if sufficient evidence is presented, but not just because someone says it's true. I just gained a lot of respect for you.
I was under the impression that children lost in the forest become Skull Kids. So why would child Link become a Stalfos? And what's more a decidedly adult-bodied Stalfos.
The Hero's Shade looks like a human skeleton anyway. Not a monster.
Children do become skull kids. That's one huge problem with that theory. My theory is that in the MM and TP timeline OOT link died in the lost woods as an adult before his kid was born, or before his kid was old enough to pass on his sword techniques to, and then he became a stalfos (which is why he passes on his techniques to TP link and he's filled with regret and stuff.) Plus in TP the hero of shade is missing an eye, and MM link isn't. I think the Hero of Time died as an adult and in MM his spirit turned back into a kid so his mind could try and rationalize his death. The MM death theory fits, but it doesn't make sense unless the Hero of Time died as an Adult.
***** What I like to believe is that Link from OOT and MM in the Child Timeline did grow up and even had a child (my favorite theory is that he could have had a child with Malon, since she works on a farm, and in TP Link was born on a farm), but he was filled with so much regret that he died before his child grew up, so he could not pass on his sword techniques. He could have simply wondered off into the Lost Woods or something, hoping to find Navi maybe, because she would be the only one aware of how much he had been through to save Hyrule, and was his closest friend. MM was his dying dream, where he dreamed of himself as a child and saving another alternate world. At the end of MM, when child Link rode into strange white lights, adult Link passed away, and later on became the Hero's Shade in TP because he couldn't move on.
Cool theory and all but don't forget, link grew up with the kokiri, he went in and out of the forest a million times, he went to the forest temple... And he went back to see zelda in the end of oot... There is no way he would be lost in the woods
Rofl that one by Skel was brilliant.
"What if the video games you thought you were playing... Were actually playing you?
RED ALERT."
23:41 Vinny talking to the hyrule version of his future mayor.
23:41, actually.
If Link was dead in Majora's Mask, the Hero's Shade in Twilight Princess would be a Stalchild, not a Stalfos. Link's flesh loss would have to have happened after he reached adulthood. He also passes on skills that the Majora's Mask Link didn't have yet, which means he continued to train and learn beyond that point.
I believe it happens because he's a hero who's deeds have been erased (by being sent back in time at the end of Ocarina of Time), so he clings to life after death until he can pass on his skills to the next hero. (It also feels likely that he'd've gone into the woods when he retired as well, since that's where he grew up and he'd have nostalgia for the place.)
Jonathan Frakes is a handsome man.
Thank you!
Hey, just gotta say, thanks for uploading all of these for people who miss 'em live. Do you plan on snagging Vinny's Hyrule Warriors stream too?
I think whats creepier is that the girl totally called Link becoming a Stalfos.
Dromader Not really.
39:30 One word: Pokémon!
Grrr, why did no one tell Vinny that sidehoppping is faster than backwalking? It's driving me crazy!
Do you honestly give a shit?
Pole-tiss. I could have sworn it used to be called "Odd Potion." Did they change it for the 3DS remake?
Le, not lé!
59:54 thought he meant nintendo switch..
18:29 Jokes on her - she & all her lil' friends end up turning into sentient tree stumps...
Being a badass Stalfos is _definitely_ the better deal...who knows maybe someday you'll even end up training a particular Ordonian hero?
If it's hot ice in a cold area then why isn't it "melting"
Maaaaaagic! Magic!
the whole its al in links head doesnt seem right. What is more likely what happened is he continued to search for navi after majoras mask and got lost in the forest you see. making him a stalfos. the thing is he can become a stalfos and STIL have done all of majoras mask.
No, because then “Hero of Twilight” Link, who is a descendant of “Hero of Time” Link by blood, wouldn’t even exist. “Hero of Time” Link has to become an adult and have a child in order for “Hero of Twilight” Link to exist. Also, the Hero’s Shade is NOT a Stalfos, he’s just the skeletal spirit of “Hero of Time” Link. And he never died in Majora’s Mask either, it was Navi who did. It states in the intro that Link starts his journey in Majora’s Mask in search of Navi. People always think it was Link for whatever reason and I never understood that. This is why Zelda fans shouldn’t listen to MatPat’s Zelda theories.
Vinny could have gotten the big goron sword before the forest temple. Too bad for him that he didn't know that.
What the fuck must be going on with the Earth's climate if some guy can just turn it from night to day at will :v
These puns! I'm so done
Cool vid! xD
:v
To bad the zelda creators have basically politely said that theory is bullshit :3 So suck it theory lovers. Besides that he isnt even a stalfos proper in princess. Its a mix of stalfos and something else.
thefilmdirector1 The entire franchise supports theories and leaves multiple questions, so don't suck it anymore - swallow and get off your knees with pride.
Because it is bullshit. It was literally debunked. Plus, Twilight Princess Link can’t exist if OoT/MM Link becomes a Stalfos. TP Link is a blood descendant of OoT Link, therefore meaning he would’ve had to have a child and become an adult again. Plus, he wouldn’t have become a Stalfos, the Hero’s Shade doesn’t act like one. Stalfos are just mindless monsters, the Hero’s Shade is a skeletal spirit. I don’t get how this is so hard for some people to accept.
oh man i used to watch Beyond Belief all the time!! ..its good to see Vinny appreciates Jonathan Frakes' puns xD
