Just wanted to let you know that if your fresh produce is not refrigerated at the store you're not supposed to refrigerate it at home. That helps to make it last longer. I used to refrigerate all of my fresh produce also but now that I followed this information my produce lasts twice as long. If there is something I prefer cold I will refrigerate overnight for the next day or refrigerate in the morning when I wake up. This has saved me money and food waste. Just a tip I've learned and wanted to share. Love your videos and your family and am so excited about baby boy! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

You don't need a special container for lettuce. Line a zip lock with paper towels, toss in lettuce and zip it up making sure to get all of the air out. Your lettuce will last for weeks. EDIT: I also do this with my herbs and anything else that tends to hold moisture. It works wonders!

I have always stored my onions in the fridge and have never notice them going bad or spoiling food around them, however, in Mexico they store many veggies outside the fridge but even the eggs are never refrigerated. It’s so weird to me so that’s why I just throw almost everything in there lol

Organizing with bins is satisfying. I would love to have seen you use labels as well. And btw, the people who designed the fridge made it so that milk and other liquids could be stored on the bottom shelf. It was designed to be colder in that area for liquids, and the liquids won’t fluctuate between different temperatures, which will make them last a lot longer. Also, you should keep the eggs in their regular egg cartons because the cartons are especially made to protect the eggs from absorbing gases and scents from other foods around them. Oh, and the fruits and veggies should be separate from one another because they tend to absorb each other’s gases which make them expire a lot faster.
That was so satisfying to watch. Before your fruit goes down, cut them up and freeze them for smoothies. You can even freeze your baby spinach leaves. I make little ziploc bags ready for my smoothies in the exact quantities I need. Guacamole freezes well too. Use lemon and chilli flakes, yum.

Your BEFORE view is MUCH better than my mom's! My brother lives with my mom and he is afraid to go into it because it is so packed he only grabs what is visible when he opens the door. Her fridge is like TETRIS!! Keep in mind her fridge is an apartment-sized one so not nearly as spacious as yours.

I loved the video but for me personally I get way more satisfaction out of an organizing project going in with a game plan. Figuring out what I need and how many instead of just winging it. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to run back to the store to return a bigger bin for two smaller ones etc. Just eliminates potential frustration and gets the job done in way less time. I am a huge fan of your creativity and love your personality! Keep up the good work!

Seriously? You buy pre-cut fruit and take it out of the plastic container it comes in, to put it in another plastic container? Kind of ironic. The fresh fruit keeps longer than the pre-cut, but then at least it would make sense to put the leftovers in a plastic (I prefer glass) container. But it's also hard to watch the amount of plastic waste there is. All those pre-portioned small things and everything else in plastic. No wonder our oceans are so polluted. I get the organizing in plastic (still prefer glass) containers, basically those containers keep for a long time so it's kind of ok, but why does everything else need to be be in plastic? Not saying it's entirely the fault of the consumers, since everything is offered like this, BUT as consumers we have the choice to say "no" to this madness and buy fresh from a farmers market, and ask our stores if they can also offer "no waste"-products. Then the storage containers make even more sense.
I was wondering why the already cut & in container stuff was being transferred to another container. I love the idea for fruit you cut yourself, but these were already in a good container. Hopefully the container were not tweaked and instead reused or donated

If you put an egg in a cup of water and it completely sinks then it's 100% as fresh as can be. If it floats completely then it's gone bad and if it floats somewhere in the middle it usually means it's 1-2 weeks old and still okay to eat, just won't be the freshest
I have a notepad on my fridge door and I jot the expiration dates on it. I do this for my meats too bc I don’t use an entire pack of chicken at once so I separate them into containers. It works great for us

FYI.. onions shouldn't be refrigerated if not cut, they put off a gas and will spoil other food nearby
Also keeping them away from potatoes and out of the light.
The gas also makes the onion itself go bad in 24 hours.

I loved the video but for me personally I get way more satisfaction out of an organizing project going in with a game plan. Figuring out what I need and how many instead of just winging it. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to run back to the store to return a bigger bin for two smaller ones etc. Just eliminates potential frustration and gets the job done in way less time. I am a huge fan of your creativity and love your personality! Keep up the good work!

Seriously? You buy pre-cut fruit and take it out of the plastic container it comes in, to put it in another plastic container? Kind of ironic.
The fresh fruit keeps longer than the pre-cut, but then at least it would make sense to put the leftovers in a plastic (I prefer glass) container.
But it's also hard to watch the amount of plastic waste there is. All those pre-portioned small things and everything else in plastic. No wonder our oceans are so polluted. I get the organizing in plastic (still prefer glass) containers, basically those containers keep for a long time so it's kind of ok, but why does everything else need to be be in plastic? Not saying it's entirely the fault of the consumers, since everything is offered like this, BUT as consumers we have the choice to say "no" to this madness and buy fresh from a farmers market, and ask our stores if they can also offer "no waste"-products. Then the storage containers make even more sense.
I was wondering why the already cut & in container stuff was being transferred to another container. I love the idea for fruit you cut yourself, but these were already in a good container. Hopefully the container were not tweaked and instead reused or donated

This looks great! Question. How do you keep track of when the eggs expire in those clear bins? I’ve always wanted to get them, too because they look amazing, but don’t because of that reason 😫

If you put an egg in a cup of water and it completely sinks then it's 100% as fresh as can be. If it floats completely then it's gone bad and if it floats somewhere in the middle it usually means it's 1-2 weeks old and still okay to eat, just won't be the freshest
I have a notepad on my fridge door and I jot the expiration dates on it. I do this for my meats too bc I don’t use an entire pack of chicken at once so I separate them into containers. It works great for us
