technically yes, but its a 1 frame window in a 30fps game, so it is equivalent to a 2 frame window on gcn! which is still not easy to pull off consistently, but given how broken power bounce scales... its honestly not the worst change ever
@@setk1189 Yeah I'm happy they changed it, because that and Multibonk were the most broken moves in the game and it's making people think more about badge loadouts instead of just learning a timing minigame
34:43 Hey Alpharad, did you know Elite Wizzards have a 75% chance of being blown away by Flurries "Gale Force" move? It really trivializes battling them quite a bit, but you still get all of the Star Points you would normally get by battling them too!
Him doing the 100 trial pit mid game is such a 2015 Alpharad thing to do and he's so based for it. Also the 1 star point reward is hilarious, I love that, well done Nintendo xd
Power Bounce was made harder to use in the remake. On the 3rd or 4th jump I'm not sure which, the timing to press A is exactly 1 frame, and only on that jump. After it it goes back to the regular window. It's still a very powerful move if you can time that frame, but yeah it's very hard.
Kinda hope he uploads more of his playthrough, i loved this Edit: actually it might be a bit boring considering he’s now an A-tier fighter before Keehaul Key
@@somerguy3527I'd argue prince mush is pretty hard regardless of your point in the game but also danger mario tears through him pretty fast if you know what you're doing
I beat the pit as soon as I got Flurrie, before the Great Tree. Since they changed Gale Force to give XP, you just blow every battle, and since Fire Drive ignores defense, you can get the rest pretty easy if you focus on Superguarding. With Bonetail, though, Fire Drive was my only damaging move. I had to learn all of her SuperGuard times and keep one partner alive with Super Appeal P so I can keep refilling my FP. In short, I started the pit at 2:00 AM, got to Bonetail at 4 AM, and finished the pit at 6 AM Edit: And I went up 20 levels and reached A-Rank before the great tree
I remember how good Flurrie was for this fight in the original game. In addition to being unkillable so long as you have FP, her "dodgy fog" was also really good. I swear enemies missed Mario like 75% of the time when it was active.
Honestly i always find the pit way more fun mid game then late game. Theres people who do it in chapter one which is a little to insane for me but around chaoter 3/4 is the perfect balance between being super intense while not being hard enough that i give up
I’m working on that but I’m at bonetail and I just can’t do it. Especially with my badge only thing. For some reason though you can start over at the boss so I can keep working on it so that’s kinda nice
damn really? i chanced upon the pit while exploring and got up to i think floor 10 or 11 and said nah i'm gonna quit while i'm ahead and exited to the title screen. may have to try it again since i'm 4 stars in
Wait till he finds about the new secret boss that appears when you beat the trials for a second time. (After you do a certain thing in the game it spawns)
@@Incogneto103 It difficult to do it without spoiling but here are the conditions. there are 3 conditions, best the main story, best the trials once, and then get all the wack a bumps from the mole in keelhaul keep. Once the mole stops spawning you’ll get an email that says there will be a new boss at the bottom of the trials.
If any of you guys are trying the pit before chapter 3, get Flower Finder, Power Plus, and 2 Pretty Luckys. Oh, and spam upgrade hp after getting fp to 30. Trust me, spamming Fire Drive costs a lot of fp.
It'll forever be funny that your reward for the game's toughest challenge is a shitty badge and a single star point. (Coins in the remake are sorta nice).
Uhh… I did this entire thing starting immediately after collecting the first Crystal Star. So I only had 2 SP, one reliable way to heal (Sweet Treat), and a fucking dream. I ended up doing all 100 floors after about 3 hours, which I’m pretty proud of.
Not sure if Alpha knows this but Powerbounce is stupid hard for no reason. Not sure if it's intentional or not, but your 4th jump is frame perfect, and then the timing goes back up to normal. I'm guessing it's probably to stop power lift/power bounce combos from absolutely decimating superbosses since you can easily clear 100 damage in a single turn with the right set up, but at that point I think if you can pull it off, it's earned lmao
I beat bone tail with only 3 hp, 0 zero healing items, and only doing about 7 damage per turn 💀 I had barely any star power to work with either. I’d use sweet treat but I’d constantly drop back down to 3 hp. If u don’t believe me, I can send whoever is curious the screenshot I took of my run through.
I just did this last night just before going off to the moon at level 26 with hammer only 10-12 damage per hit with two turns then up to 14-16 damage with power lift twice per turn just barely enough to do it
0:20 That guy stating it's dangerous has no clue what they're talking about. Going into 100 trials in Chapter 3 (Once you have Yoshi, better Hammer and better Boots) is viable up to floor 90 for early game leveling, and it's not even that difficult

Honestly its so nice to do it midgame because of how often you get full heals
Moral of the story for fighting Bonetail: USE POWER LIFT
And use Flurrie(at least for early to mid game pit)
Power lift + baby Yoshi is broken under any circumstances, and that's even without badges boosting it
I make sure to use Power Lift in every major battle since obtaining it.

Gale Force gave XP in the original too. It's in Paper Mario 64 that the battle-ending moves didn't give XP iirc.
