Yeah all a ruse to "go on offense", he thinks he's being slick but it's an amateur hour liars trick....it makes sense to them, if you act REALLY mad they think you'll go wow, this seems different and he was just being protective of his privacy before, not defensive and secretive when the leaks came out. Dude is such a child, he either thought he didn’t have to pay taxes on money he makes, or decided to evade taxes. He has the audacity to call others kids, and he’s almost 40, with no savings or security net for the future. He’s literally a teenager in mind, not thinking about his future at all, just burning holes in his pocket.

He loves to use the fact he does not have "900" subs anymore to also further his narrative that he is making less money on TH-cam.
Yeah I thought at the time the only opportunity for him to fudge the numbers would be at the jump, after that he has nowhere to hide because he has no hidden excuses like credit debt. Once that baseline was set, he was set in that. So of course he sets that baseline artiically low. He's done this for years and knows what he's doing.
I'm sure fans will conveniently donate certain things to him, as needed. He just didn't want to play Guardians of the Galaxy or Metroid Dread, so he's feigning poverty to get out of it.
Even if you took him at his word for his exaggerated or flat out made up expenses like the broken shower, broken vacuum cleaner, and lawyer expenses, he would still come out in the black. And he is claiming he can't afford a $60 business expense, someone superchatted him enough money to buy Metroid three times and specifically asked for it, he still won't get it because he doesn't get that money until December and he wants his audience to believe he is living hand to mouth. This dude.
He definitely wrote that out minutes before he started his stream. Why isn’t this on his phone? He relies on technology for everything, yet his expenses are on paper. I think his bank could give him a way to track his expenses, but this is dsp, his business degree is at work on paper
He made a very cynical decision to "go on offense" because he feels it's no one's business. He's always lied about these things, leaks or not. As you show the math never added up, the leaks only confirmed what black hole that money went down.
I think gtg also said that it became pretty clear that phil uses his youtube and twitch payment for big bills and everything else was fun money.

The only unexpected expenses Phil has received since April is the Conn Condo foreclosure court fees and the water/sewer lean oh and "Kat destroyed the vacuum", and the shower incident that is no longer mentioned.
The way Phil sees life is ALL his bills are his fans bills and his actual TH-cam revenue is his disposable income.
If you go back to DSP around the Quarter Pounder interview, he said numerous times Kat puts 50% of her pay towards household expenses, and was prepared to go up to 75%. Which clearly doesn't happen according to his last year of bank transactions. But that means she has more $$$$ for a divorce lawyer 🤣🤣🤣

The thing about DSP's bill thing is that it's very easily solveable by just downgrading. Go for cheaper versions of stuff. For example, the cell phone plan he has cant be the ONLY cell phone plan in America, go for a cheaper one, that way you save money. Groceries are too expensive? You don't HAVE to shop at Fred Meyer but he always insists on it, go to a cheaper supermarket. I remember way back someone suggested he shop somewhere other than Fred Meyer when he was complaining they raised their prices and he practically short circuited because Fred Meyer is all "Fresh local produce" uhh okay, still saves money shopping elsewhere. Internet is too expensive? Stop paying for business class internet when its clearly making no difference and stop having two seperate internet lines for whatever reason. The mortage is too much? Move out of your gated communtiy big house with a spare bedroom you literally don't use (Leanna's old "office") and a spare bathroom you've admitted you literally have only used once since you moved in, the house clearly intended big rich families if the doctor and lawyer neighbours with big families that he's talking about wasn't hint enough. Move into a two bedroom place with one bathroom which will be MUCH cheaper and clearly suitable enough for his needs. I just don't see how the solution of "Things are to expensive" is "Pay me more" and not "I will spend less."
Plus the fact the value of his condo has nearly doubled since he moved in, so downgrading would be a no brainer. He could sell it off, the mortgage goes poof, have over 200K cash, and find a place for under 100K (I found 6 in Washington state alone that have similar square footage as his condo), and use the rest to pay off his back taxes. Boom, his expenses would drop by more than half. The only thing would be he'd no longer live in a gated community, but as long as he doesn't say where he moves to no one will freaking know.
I absolutely love how ever since the bankruptcy he has never brought up the $5000 in business expenses again.

A) the real world is big and scary so he's resigned from it and lived in this bubble that he created for himself, like a scared kitten hiding under a bed or something. Meaning that:
B) he 100% believes his own bullshit. This is the scary part. Even the "i nickel and dime my way through life" part, or the "I'm a response adult" part. Because to him, regular responsible adult life, the only kind he's ever experienced, is spending 2012 TH-cam money, hoarding random bullshit, and being given everything (even a girlfriend; she was a "fan" first).
Right now he hoards jpegs of hulk hogan because he can do it in "secret." In my opinion he has also psychologically abused Kat into believing all this shit too. If he had $3000 trophies of hulk hogan in his house, she would probably raise an eyebrow...
You know, given how strongly DSP pushes for Tips at the expense of all else, even outright telling his viewers to forego Superchats or Subs, something that TH-cam/Google gets a cut of, in favor of Tips, something they get none of...you have to wonder if Google/TH-cam is okay with this sort of behavior, actively shitting on/frowning upon every method of supporting the content creator they have. All because DSP doesn't get it "immediately."
Is there any possibility that TH-cam might slap Phil down a bit for this and tell him, "Hey, chill out with the Tips driving. Stop pushing your viewers away from Superchats and Subscriptions."
