This clip is from No Reservations S08E08. Bourdain is at the laksa stall on Jalan Pasar near the Kek Lok Si temple. I ate there myself today and I have to agree with the man, it's delicious.
The younger generation for this Laksa stall and Covid 19 ended this stall! Hope and pray they will be back after the pandemic! Hope and pray 2021 will not be the end of this heritage!
U in Georgetown n u want to go there?get a bus marked Air Hitam,,,,black water in malay,,,,,you ll know by the signs when u reach air hitam, the laksa stall s in the village market.
Fakhrullah Al Amin Nazari the recipe doesn't use pork element, it would destroy the taste. It doesn't have halal cert, the price would be different if it does
Ed Fong I see. Thank you for your clarification, it helps very much as I will travel to Penang after raya. It says Penang is heaven of food, I wanna try it by myself. :)
Chan Joven that’s not the ingredients for Asam laksa. Asam laksa onions, mint leaves, pineapples, ginger torch flower and some lettuce and cucumber. Why spoil the laksa with sambal? Although I love sambal too lol.
Alex Torres the reason why the seller kept pouring the broth out n filling the bowl again is because the broth has fish flakes in it n that is probably the fastest way to get the flakes into the noodles lol
Julianna Wong actually the main reason they do that at every noodle hawker shop is that this repetitive pouring of hot soup action reheats the precooked noodles placed in the bowl.
I'm sad to say it was not all that great at all. 3/10 is the highest I would rate it. Anthony pls pm me if u come Malaysia again. I will bring you to some great Malaysian food.

Man, laksa is bomb! I don't get though why he pours the soup back into the pot after he pours some into the bowl? Anybody know the purpose of this?
He wants to get a much as possible fish meat in there. You dont want to just have empty soup😊
@@johann0404 The taste probably gets better as the day progresses from all the flavors going back into it.

Many Americans dying after watching the uncle handled all the garnishes with naked hand.

Kimchi Flitwick And sadly Laksa Nyonya/Lemak is our regular curry Mee in central Msia
No, not really. There are different types of laksa. Penang Laksa is uniquely Malaysian and we love it as well.
sarawak laksa > penang laksa
