Am I the only one to think that the ultralong upper canines in Sabretooth Tiger would actually have a somewhat negative impact on its ability to attack larger preys? It would have been able to put a larger prey in its mouth if its canines were a little shorter. Maybe that is why it is no longer around...
its mouth opened twice as much as a lions which gave enough room, and if what you said was the case then they wouldnt have been around for 2.6 million years or even evolved to begin with

@@rizkyadiyanto7922 yeah. if that was the case then the american lion, eurasian cave lion, ngandong tiger, american cheetah, and the eurasian jaguar and every other ice age cat that went extinct that didnt have sabers shouldve survived, except they didnt. and a lot of the last individuals of the cats i mentioned above although not all of them, died out at around the same time as the last smilodon individuals did, around 10,000 years ago.

Evolution definitely worked on tails for felines since they all developed in length. Maybe the flies were just too many.
Sabers are my favourite because they always surprise me and I feel always curious about them maybe there are reason behind it their long canine teeth and ofcourse muscular arms also actually there is always a curiosity generated to see sabers but such as I didn't feel so curious to know about dinosaurs.....
Their teeth were mainly for hunting mega herbivores like mammoth.

Husky's only advantage is stamina and that coat he has that is thicker than that of your average dog. However in a 1v1 head fight, I believe the German shepherd will kill it under 4 minutes.

Even if they exist they would have been killed by humans as there are the most strongest predators. Sabertooth could have killed any animal he see including lions and tigers. Humans would have been the cause of sabertooth's extinction if they were existing.
