Girls and guys out there, don't ever fake feelings for anyone. You might be scared to turn them down... But remember the longer you fake the more they get hurt. It's okay to turn people down. Your feelings are valid too.

I think she means in terms of societal hierarchy because their differences in social position is something that’s emphasized throughout the novel. She doesn’t want to live in the upper-crust world he’s from because she can’t be a novelist within it and would be pressured into becoming a housewife. Rather than inconvenience Laurie by becoming his wife and not being able to meet his needs in that way, she stepped aside so he could find someone who fit his life better. You’re saying I should force myself to love men who I don’t love simply because they are good people. That’s a toxic old school paradigm of thinking because in the reality that we live in, that doesn’t last and it hurts both parties. Love can be passionate and deep and lasting and anyone who tells you to settle is saying so out of fear they can’t find better. Don’t project your fears onto others

And you can learn to love someone. Most of that passionate, love stuff tends to be full of toxic ness. Because there’s always one person more in love than the other and most of the time that type of love is strongly based on lust. The true love they don’t portray in Hollywood is the one that hurts and bleeds. The true love that means loving them at their worst, even through the hurt. That passion doesn’t last for ever.

Be who you are and stand on ur grounds, don’t depend on anyone else’s for ur own happiness. Hey he ended up with someone really into him. I think the real moral of the story is to be honest with your feelings or else you might hurt someone else trying to make them happy. Both of them weren't confronting the truth. She pretended to be ignorant of his feelings and of her inability to love him and he was changing parts of himself to be someone he *thought* she would love. Neither of them wanted to hurt the other. Both of them really did want the other to be happy. But both of them were wasting so much time living in different worlds.

Been over 10 years for me. She is still in my thoughts every day. When someone truly commits the whole of their being to someone...no one else can ease the pain. I often wondered what the bible meant about guarding your heart. Now I know....guard your heart and don't fully commit until you are certain the other person will also. It takes wisdom to know when a couple is at that point. Wisdom only gained from going through it. Seek guidance from married couples who have lasted decades together. Speak to friends that have had a broken heart longer than year. I don't know exactly how to prove to another person that you know what it means to truly have a broken heart until you have lived it. Like I said...been over ten years for me. No other woman will do.

If she only loves him as a brother and friend that type of connection is misleading because it’s a family friend familiarity which goes deep. Hence why he fell Inlove. And tried changing himself but he was never the issue. She needs to decided what she wants in life. What she wants in a person because if she knew what she wanted she would of known it wasn’t for her and she would of been honest from the jump and let him know if he was a friend and brother. That’s love . He loved unconditionally she loved to conditions. I can’t love you beyond this connection. I don’t understand this. So it’s to conditions. HOWEVER, the reality of living in today's society is simply that men aren't afraid of women simply for being men. Men aren't afraid of being murdered for turning a woman's advances down. Men aren't afraid of being assaulted for saying they aren't interested in a woman's advances. Men aren't afraid of being raped by women. Are there outliers, sure. Romanticism at it's finest, you can only be together if you're in love, else it's not meant to be.
It's important to understand in what way you are bonding. And if it's an unhealthy way, but the other does not trigger for instance, abandonment, then you won't feel
the "right" way to try and commit to them.
    Just a few thoughts.

Years ago when I was at highschool i was in love with a girl. She was beautiful, intelligent, empathetic, kind. Nevertheless I barely spoke to her because I thought she was way out my league and i was just just self conscious , introverted, shy guy. But maybe the reason why i didn't speak to her and didn't make confession it's because subconsciously I was afraid of rejection.

    • @vynongaming553
      @vynongaming553 2 ปีที่แล้ว

U know i think rejection is a good thing. Sure it hurts for a while but it lets u move on instead of the lingering hope that kills u in the process of chasing thats not meant to be. So i dont think people should be afraid of hurting peoples feelings if they reject them. Becoz ure in a way doing themselves a favour of not wasting their time on u

    • @rickgrimes8870
      @rickgrimes8870 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Your fear was justified. You felt that and probably for a good reason - you would be rejected. You don't confess your feewings. It comes naturally. You just click with a girl or not. Confessing is only going to shut your chances down.
Just look at what happens after a guy proposes to his girlfriend. Her love just goes away like you wiped it with a tissue.
She thinks to herself - "I got him now".

I literally felt this been there. Can't make someone love u as much as u love them. Sometimes u just gotta move on knowing and understanding that sometimes that's just the way it is. I always look at it as if there's so much more to be discovered, more compassion and understanding from someone that's just not this one and no matter how much it hurts, no matter how much u love that person and u don't wanna let them go, u have to. Newtons third law- something has to get left behind. Never leave the best of yourself in the past with someone who doesn't see u in their future

At the stage of life i am in and as a grandmother. This scene shows how Deceitful the heart is. I have loved those that did not deserve it, while dismissing the genuine love from others. Looking for that magical "connection".
Please consider the merits and care someone is offering you. Do they consider you and your feelings? Do they include you in their family circle and respect yours? Do they trust you and love with quiet devotion? OR is it drama, suspicion, verbal or physical abuse, decreasing lust, selfishness, running hot then cold thenhot again, tears of manipulation.....?
That young man would die for the young woman and the children they would make together.
It is not "settling" it is truely seeing, and understanding.
Tip i wish i knew when i was beginning my adult journey. " Men offer "love" for sex, women offer sex for love". Take all the time you need to get to know each other. No rush to jump into bed. Lord knows the regrets i have for doing that way too soon. Any pressure, run RUN. The men that still think of me and i them, i took the longest to get to know.

There is difference between love and lust. In my opinion most people confuse these two feelings, similar to how we confuse thirst and hunger.
You can love a lot of people, your family, your friends, yourself. However, (hopefully) you don't feel lust towards your family, friends etc.
Picking a husband/wife is not about lust and not even about love.
Lust will be gone sooner than love, and love will be gone as well. Love will transform into something else.
You need to know your goals. Do you want to stay single or married? Do you want to have children?
Once you know what you want, pick the person who is right for that.
If you want a family pick a person who would be a good parent, who woul starve to death just to feed his /her children. Pick a man/woman who would die to protect you. Someone who would love you more than they love themselves.
People in the past used to know this, and they made *SACRIFICES*
A relationship is not about you, never was, never will be. It's about the family. A couple will only stay together if both of them will give more to the other one, than they want for themselves.
If you can't do this you *WILL* die alone and miserable.
      The choice is yourse.
_My advice would be to keep the body count low, and don't date too many people. I saw my promiscuous friends fry their brain. They are sleeping and dating around, but they are never happy. They are miserable people who live in the past and in the moment. They compare all of their partners to eachother and because of this they cannot see the value in people anymore._

  • @maiibau859
    @maiibau859 2 ปีที่แล้ว +24

Yes. Never ever be afraid to turn a person down just so you don't hurt them. It will be very painful for them and you.
The pain is not worth it and it's too deep.
So always say No. If you don't want it, don't feel it as soon as possible.
I am speaking for personal experience.
I've always dated wealthy, handsome guys but I become very very good friends with this guy, he was the best friend, the sweetest, caring and loving. I loved him and my love was deep but as a best friend type of love.
The other guys were amazing as well but I wasn't looking for a relationship.
My best friend once asked me out and I was so afraid to hurt him by saying No.
He meant so much and I loved him.
He was not my type didnt see him as a man or a crush but very stupidly and bc I felt sorry for him. I said, yes. Thinking I would just be with him for 3 months and call it quits.
He never did anything wrong he was the best man. But bc of the lack of attraction in every single way I hurt him very badly but even so he said, he will do anything to make me love him the same way he loves me. We went through hell and many, many times we got hurt baldy especially him.
You might ask why not break up then?
I did many times and everhtime I hurt him.
My mother once said, stay with the one that loves you not with the one you love.
Because the one that loves you will never hurt you.
So 6 years later. We are still together and he was the best man I could ever wish for.
Now he is everything to me.
But my point is and my only regret is hurting this man for many years when he could have been with a woman that could give him what he always wanted. I wasted years of his life trying to make this woman love him.
And I wasted years trying to love someone who I didn't want.
    Things changed now
    But save each other pain.
It will hurt for few days or even weeks but it's better than been hurting someone for years.

It's very simple, you cannot love a woman so much that you give up things for her that you make her the center of your world, because then surprisingly enough they don't like men that make them the center of their world their instinctually turned off by that. So point of the lesson never ever make a woman listen to your world you will lose every time

Love is a very cruel thing
