The part about the begotten son and son of God was mentioned in the chapter about David lol so they were calling David the 'son' without realising lol...Jesus never said he was to be worshipped and never claimed to be the actual biological son of God. I think the writers tried to use the worst begotten as tonsymbolize a different variation of creation. Like Afam and Eve were of God's creation. So they tried to use the term begotten as if Jesus being created was a better version of how God created life. The thing is that begotten is about procreation. It's about a human being born through the womb and not born whole. This is what both failed to interpret in this debate. Because when Afam and Eve were created they were created whole and of the holy spirit. This is why God said that they were perfect and them. No mention of Jesus even though Christians try to say that Jesus was present during creation. He named Adam and Eve but not Jesus? Adam is the only son of God. Why would God change his way of creation? That would mean he did it wrong. He made a mistake. But God's hands are unchanging for a reason. No man can undo his will or authority. The exact translation is “They have taken their rabbis and their monks (as) Lords *besides besides Allah and the Messiah* son (of) Maryam and not they were commanded except that they worship One God One God (There) is no god except Him Glory be to Him.”
From this, you can understand that they worshiped rabbis and monks instead of Allah and Messiah but it says there is only one God it means Allah and Messiah are the same. The conclusion is that Jesus is God.

They have taken their rabbis and their monks as gods beside Allah, and also (they have taken) MasīH the son of Maryam (as god). And they were not commanded but to worship only One God. There is no god but He. Pure is He from what they associate with Him.

They have taken their rabbis and monks as well as the Messiah, son of Mary, as lords besides Allah,[[ When ’Adi ibn Ḥâtim, a companion of the Prophet (ﷺ), heard this verse, he said, “But the Jews and Christians do not worship their rabbis and monks!” The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, “Do the rabbis and monks not forbid the permissible and permit the forbidden, and they obey them?” ’Adi answered, “Yes, they do.” The Prophet (ﷺ) concluded, “This is how they worship them.” Collected by At-Tirmiⱬi.]] even though they were commanded to worship none but One God.
