I just want to say that I hope you give completely honest reviews. I love your reviews and in my honest opinion I don't always understand what you explain bt only because I dnt have an engineering background. Bt by far you are the only youtuber I trust. I also hope you you dnt have any link to any particular company. Thank you for your great work and hope you continue you do your great work. 👍🏽
Looking forward to a conversion. I was going to buy one but instantly disliked how the breech was disproportionately thinner than the cylinder over the barrel, ruining the lines/overall look for me. Didn't know whether the internals could be reproduced, on my small lathe, to fit a slimmer cylinder and new rifled barrel. It is screaming for a nice wooden stock, and certainly an Air Arms style stock would be super. Shame about dovetails being so short. I imagine 2 or 3 spacers along barrel would help nullify harmonics/POI change.
Shocking accuracy for a rifle that costs 700 quid! Looking forward to seeing you work your magic on it. CZ barrel, and an in-house produced suppressor/shroud perhaps? :)
Great review as always, one thing good about most fx rifles is the synthetic stock make them very light, which would be great to carry around when hunting, it was nice to meet you both at the daystate experience days 😊
Lovely looking rifle, although I think you are being too kind around the accuracy :-) I also think its a 1k rifle when you factor in the pic rail, which is almost a must have........however, a nice fair review on a rifle which has so much promise.....looking forward to the series.
I'm dying to see the barrel liner and shroud matt showed a glimpse and it seems different more ridged because of having to separate liner from air cylinder and something about keeping it free floating they had to come up with something interesting maybe a follow-up on that nobody's shown that yet...
A great honest review as always. I was hoping you would get a DRS to work your magic on. Ive recently bought one in .22 and from the reviews ive seen they weirdly seem to be grouping better than the .177. I bought the darc single shot loader and jb3d adjustable extended butt hook both from ebay which has vastly improved the accuracy of the rifle. Keep up the great work i can't wait to see the upgrades planned and hopefully some might find there way into your ebay shop🙏🏻
Cracking video as always and you tell it as it is unlike the FX fanboy promoters who claim everything FX is the most accurate thing on the planet, don't get me wrong I think FX come up with some of the most innovative mix of design features around. I have an Impact M3 and it shoots like a laser beam but it took a lot of work and money to make it do that a lot of which was following your advice with a new HFT 500 barrel and an Airmarksman Backbone to make it rigid. I don't know anyone who has had success with the drinking straw liner barrel on any sub 12 rifle, most people I know are very dissapointed at the accuracy for what is normally an expensive bit of kit.
My m3 was a laser out of the box. When i say one hole at 50y... it would put a jsb right in the exact same spot the last one went. You couldnt tell if you actually shot another shot. two or ten shots.. all in the same spot. 75y group opened toi a ragged hole.. 100y the pellets began to spiral and open up to a 2-3" area. Going to slugs for knock down power and consistency over 75y is when things got difficult. But i think people THINK thbey need these mods to shoot slugs at distance.... but in my experience, the modifications had me chasing my tail more than anything. Back to how the gun came and back to the basics... she shoots light 32-34g slugs like a laser. It doesnt and never did need any of the money into parts you think it did. I will say... some liners you get from them are flat shit. they love their stamped barrel liners but i believe they are incredibly inconsistent. Its a lottery... sometimes you win sometimes you lose
great and informative video. As always. I had one of these. It seemed pellet fussy fps wise. Fussy magazine too. Never got to the stage of testing the accuracy. It went back for a full refund.
I use a Allen Key to rotate the magazine , then hold it to install the pellets as the mag system can be a tad fiddly to rotate with it being a mini mag
Thanks for sharing sir. Your videos are so valuable as to all the correct information you share with us. I am really enjoying mine in 177 sub 12. I can't wait for the saber tactical stock soon to be on the market and my rifle. I will also be getting myself the carbon shroud which can then be filled to 250bar. Take care hope you have a great week 🎯🇬🇧👍🏼
Do you have a link to the short Picatinny rail you installed at the lower front? Just bought the same rifle and would like to fit the same Picatinny for a bipod. Thanks 👍🏻
I've been looking at this gun and have it on my short list but the accuracy is a bit off . I wouldn't spend almost £800 just to shoot a few tin cans and spinners, a gun half that price is more than adequate for that. Thanks for the video, it has helped with my choice making, I don't suppose you have made a review on the BSA scorpion by any chance? much appreciated 😊
Liked the design so I bought an Artemis M30 a couple of years ago, might try and make a new barrel for it because it shoots worse than this gun but not to bad for the money. Thanks for sharing another interesting review. Big thumbs up. 👍
I would check the brass thimble at the breech, the leade, rifling and crown first. Even with Chinese barrels I find that most faults are easily fixed with deburring/polishing.
Great video. Not sure if it is a design fault but one thing I am hearing is the DRS can lose power over time. Having had a look at a friends, there doesnt seem to be any locking screw on the hammer spring adjuster. Over time as he was shooting it the vibration caused the HS adjuster to move and, because it is under pressure from the spring, it was slowly unwinding itself. Maybe he just got unlucky with his ????
Another great video and one I've been watching out for so thank you..I'm interested to see the improvements you can make to it, as I'm thinking of going for one..The trigger needs sorting can't understand why FX hasn't resolved the sticky trigger. Anyway thank you for the video and looking forward to the next one about the DRS..
@@sub12airgunners Can I ask you a question please..I'm a huge fan of yours and I really enjoy your work..relating to the DRS rifle..Do you think the rifle could be improved if it was worked on by one of the Tuning companies and would it be worth doing? Your opinion would be welcomed. Thanks
Great review, i was thinking of getting 1 in 177 changing the stock to a leftie custom in walnut that would bring the price to over £1000, but to see how unacceptable the grouping are at 30 yards its a no from me,my airarms s200 is still the best light weight original bullpup out there 👍.
nice review👍, always good to see a review outside of the usual FX youtube crowd 😋. I did see in other videos that the drs does not like every pellet, maybe some ammo change would add to that grouping. some questions if you don't mind. did you experience any low shots after resting the rifle? also does the maverick magazine fit with the picatinny mounted?
