Do Schools Discriminate Against Boys?

  • Exam results suggest that girls are overtaking boys across the academic spectrum. Is this really the case? In an article in The Province (June 12, 2014) entitled “The Guys Crisis: Boys are falling badly behind the girls at school,” author Paul Luke states, “By high school, girls’ grade point average outshines that of boys. In Canada, women make up almost 60 percent of university students.” He explains the phenomenon by suggesting that for too long the needs of girls were overlooked in school and now that things are more equitable, girls outshine boys in learning.
Recently, however, Dr. Jim Dueck, author, former Assistant Deputy Minister of Education for the province of Alberta, and former head of Accountability and Student Assessment, performed a revealing analysis on current practices in student assessment. The results were not only remarkable but very disturbing, exposing what might well be an institutional suppression of the performance of male students.

The thing/student (she called her self some wolf multi gender hybrid) was sent to mental therapy and removed from the school for the year. But it wasn’t the principle who did it it was me and the student who had common sense and basic logic held a vote and got the thing removed. But this Femnist lgbtq sjw politics correctness is starting to ruin education for people who disagree with them but that’s mostly men and some women who aren’t harassed to join there cults/groups. Even when I was like 8 years old as a little girl, I could tell something was off on how the guys in my class were being treated. Even when our pe teacher let the girls leave early and said "ladies first" I was uncomfortable. Last year in my geometry class, we came back from lunch and a guy in my class asked if our teacher had a good lunch break. She stared yelling at him for "wasting class time" even though most of us weren't sat down yet. Idk if this was gender influenced (because trust me she was a huge bitch to everyone) but I still got so mad and almost started yelling at her for acting like that. Idc if some boys act more "misbehaved" than some girls, equality means just that, everyone being treated equally.

You know I think that because boys are sometimes thought of as much more likely to misbehave in this society, that the teachers think this and yell at them for minor things then the boys get it reinforced in their head that they misbehave so they misbehave creating a cycle of boys being brought down in grades because of a stereotype…. Although that is just the opinion that popped into my head so don’t quote me…

Back in school, my grades were never affected by my sex, as I tried hard and as a result always got A's or B's. But although my grades were not affected, I feel we had a sexist teacher. She seemed to always have something against me and my friends.
Now, I'm not saying I was a role model of a student, but the way she treated us felt more like hate than being a teacher. But I felt as if the teacher was unnecessarily harsh on us. When we talked she would yell at us and tell us to sit from out friends, but when a girl talked she would simply give her a warning.
I remember one specific instance when we were all playing downball. The girls were getting out because they weren't quite as good as us, and seemed to think we were being bias (we weren't). They reported to the teacher and sure enough she came running to their aid and telling us to be more inclusive or we would be PERMANTLY banned from playing downball. If we were ever to complain about not being included, or being told we were bad, she would simply tell us to "Suck it up".
Although my grades never differed due to this women, I feel like she had a strong hatred against the boys, even if she was able to be distinct about it. Not sure if this issue is common, but it made that year the worst of my school years.

I saw recently that the Governor of the state of Oregon signed a bill saying that a student doesn't have to be proficient in math or reading to graduate high school. Incompetent educators are one of the most destructive forces in western society today. Also, schools have taken out two of the things many boys used to find fun about school(shop and auto shop). Not every boy is going to grow up and go to college. Some boys are better suited to pursue a trade and there is no shame in this. Schools are failing these boys.

When I was in 5th grade, the girls in my class had a group called W.A.C.: Women’s Action Club. I joined immediately as I had an immense amount of support for females. At lunch, the group would have meetings and I soon found that they were putting girls up solely by putting boys down. In front of me they would call boys “messy” and “annoying”. I felt that I was here to support females and I didn’t like how they were describing boys so I left the meeting early. After lunch, my teacher called me out for leaving. I think that these kinds of girls should not group all boys considering that many boys are on the the side of gender equality.

I'm a male with long hair. In college I was studying to become a bartender. I had already some experience as a waiter, and my long hair, if properly tied never gave me any problem to be recruited and do my job. Like every kind of school teaching this subject, you had a dress code which asked you to have short and proper nails, to be dressed in a suit, with only certain colors, no jelewry, a "classical haircut without hair dye" and to be frank I was okay with that since it's to make you used to the outfit you're going to have most of the time in your work.
The first day, I decided to tie my long hair in a proper and discreet hair bun to follow the "classical haircut" dress code rule. Arriving at the school, I was asked to go to the hairdresser by the end of the week or else I wouldn't be allowed to attend class. When I asked why, they said that "long hair are not a classical haircut for mens, even if tied properly and in a discreet way" and "because of hygiene in the workplace".
Wanna know the funny thing ? All the girls in the college are allowed to have hair longer than me, and are not even asked to tie them. When I asked why they could have it and not me, they just said "because they are girl, long hair is a classical haircut for girls", totally dismissed the hygiene part, and was left with the choice to cut my hair short or leave the school.
So I thought ok, then let's go see elsewhere ! But was given the same bullshit thing in EVERY bartending school...

Doing quotas or preferring girls is just as damaging as when males were preferred in the past. You should hire based only on how well a candidate perform.

Was on a week long school trip with the year group.
One of the nights my dorm is trying to sleep but we can't cuz the teachers decided to bring monopoly/board games to the girls dorm and play with them.
So the boys dorm decided to go check it out and see what was up. We sent 3 dudes to scout it out. They came back and said the girls dorm and teachers were having a party. In protest about half of the boys decided to stay up too and cause noise, play pranks on each other etc. until the noise died down across both dorms. The other half of us decided just to sleep cuz of the long day before.
In the morning all the boys were punished with a run, barefoot around a stony, thorny field until the teachers were satisfied our expression showed we were sorry . Whilst the teachers and girls had breakfast and watched.

At the end of the day we all want a peaceful, prosperous and better society.

And in our systeem the female learning strategy is the main way of learning. Conclusion: boys need to adept or are left behind. 80% to 90% of the population on special need institutions are boys. Story time!
So my sophomore year of high school our bus has a substitute driver for like a week or so. So basically my bus was divided in the front the quiet kids, the middle were the loud kids, the back were more quiet kids. So the loud kids (Both boys and girls) were being really annoying and the bus driver had had enough. So the next morning I get on the bus and she tells me to sit in the first available seat next to another boy. I notice that the girls were told to go sit wherever they wanted. I quickly realized what the driver was doing was making all the guys sit as close to the front all next to each other. Mean while the girls had the rest of the bus to themselves. This pissed me the hell off really quickly and I very soon was making jokes about sexism very loudly to the driver. She was punishing one gender for the actions of a select few both girls and guys. After the bus ride I reported her for punishing a lot us for no apparent reason. The afternoon she did the same thing and this time I was even more loud as a lot of the girls and guys were as well, about the hilarious sexism and discrimination that was going on. We called the Bus Driver Hitler, Oppressive, Sexist. We were insulting and calling her names that didn't even make sense just to get under her skin. The next day the boys and girls were no longer separated and I got to sit in the back of the bus once more. Did I act immature? Yes. But I don't really blame myself as me and a lot of the other boys weren't the one's being loud to begin with so the fact the driver tried to punish all of us was B.S
I've definitely had a share of sexist experiences in school but for the most part my Teachers have always been fair which is cool

Teacher: so boys, this assignment is difficult, I don't think you should do it and girls you can do it, if anyone don't want to then left it. My classmate to teacher: should I do the assignment ? Teacher: I said no means no, I don't want to lower the grades of my section in system files.

I was talented at math and had straight A’s until the final term so I had to talk to the principal about what happened and eventually got my A back and they even admitted he was creepy. Never got that teacher again thankfully and neither did my gf. I had several female teachers where it would be so obvious that they gave the female students a lot more leeway. Especially when it came to conversations in class and grading work. The conversations never were a problem with me but the grading differences were so drastic that us males going into certain classes were extremely nervous and gained a major disdain for the certain teachers.

Thank you, ms. Stuart, we truly need more people like you in the world. Personally, I was bullied from the kindergarten all the way through the elementary school. At the end, it would have always been my fault somehow because I was hyperactive and generally couldn't pay attention to the class due to my ADHD. Later it only got worse: it seems that since I was a boy, and also not great at studying, teachers have automatically failed to accept that I might have potential and I was basically bullied or pushed aside not just by other kids, but also by some teachers.
I guess, if I was a girl, all of it would have been different. I sometimes feel my life would be easier, I would have an easier time finding the stable job and so many other things. This is why it's nice to hear somebody still standing up for the right thing.

In 5th grade, my class was seperated into groups of 4, it was a French class and the group that spoke the most French got points. There was a group of girls (the only, all the others were in groups with boys) and my teacher always favored them, they always got points even though they were speaking English all the time, and when someone said something to my teacher (She was female also) like "Madam why do they get so much points they never speak French." She was like "What are you saying? They always speak French"
    It was very annoying.

But the thing is that the boys' bags were being checked normally (the entire bag), but the girls just opened the bag and closed it for a second and just got on the bus.

    True story:
While waiting in line for lunch 2 boys were pushing each other in line at the front, the female teacher, who I personally think was the MOST sexist teacher, saw it. She was talking with them and then told ALL the boys to go to the back of the line. May I remind you that this was only 2 boys.
Also some other proof that boys are discriminated
    1. Less boys in the honors class (advanced class) this isn’t solid evidence though
    2. A few teachers who favor and I mean favor the girls, and are strict to the boys.
    3. A boy was talking in class and got yelled at by the teacher, girl talked, silence.

Even though this post is 2 years old, it still holds true today for me (male), your 1st notice is 100% right and it just sucks because I don't get to talk with my friends or get to talk to girls (anxiety), only judt because I shut up mostly is why I'm in the honors area

The teacher: "Go to the office, now."
Girls at the front: *Speaking at 9 billion decibels*
    The teacher: "This is fine."

I remember so well during my 10th grade English class, this group of girls would always be whispering and giggling, even with the teacher sometimes, but every time the boys would talk or do anything she didn’t like in the slightest, the teacher would just lose her cool completely. Almost like a switch in her brain when she heard our voice. Close to the end of the year these 2 guys finally had enough of her freak outs and started going off on her about how she’s just sexist and how much all the guys hated that class. She tried to send us all to the office. I didn’t talk to anyone in that class ever and even I was suppose to go. couple other innocent guys as well. It was a fuss. Everyone started bitching, even the girls saying it was unfair. Teacher had a breakdown after that back stab and called for the principal, who made us all apologize to her… School system for ya
