Drum this in to your child. If a teacher says "don't discuss this with your parents", that's exactly the time to tell your parents. This goes for scout leaders, priests, youth club organisers, coaches, neighbours, bus drivers, uncles and helpful friendly strangers.
If there's ANY chance your school will tell your child not to discuss something with you, take your kids out of that school. You may not be able to find one you trust. Teach them at home. Slight correction to everyone here. They didn’t come to the aid of all males. Just child males. If it was a group of adult men forced to do this with their jobs nobody would care. While boys are still children they receive protection, but men don’t.
My wife and I are expecting as well and it is rather scary indeed. I'm planning on helping our daughter develop her critical thinking skills early, for a start. A loving household is key for a lot of things, but helping kids analyze information has never seemed more important than it is now, and by the time both our kids are able to socialize with their peers who knows where we'll be. Well it's more poor boys, cause it's mostly boys who are discriminated in school, but yes sometimes it can be Girls, im still in school, i havent had a teacher that only lets girls do whatever they want yet, however i haven't finished school so im not going to get my hopes up that i will never be discriminated by a teacher.
I find it bad enough that they have women's day assemblies every year at my son's school but they don't acknowledge men's day. Why? This leaves the male students feeling very confused and alienated as though they are sub human. It makes me really angry!

On International Women's Day, they hold an all-students assembly at our kids' school. Both of our sons came home from last year's assembly feeling totally unsettled by what was being said about boys in general. So this year on Women's Day, they both got the day off from school - which was my wife's idea. Needless to say, I picked a good one. ;-)

I doubt the boys had any prior warning so could not form a collective objection, an adult in authority confronts a boy standing alone and demands they recite a political doctrine, the boy will comply as they have no idea what their own peers think about this. Yeah buts it not really the kids fault - they probably felt a lot of peer pressure from thier teachers, also I doubt many of them would risk speaking up and risk being the odd one out. Both of our sons came home from last year's assembly feeling totally unsettled by what was being said about boys in general.
So this year on Women's Day, they both got the day off from school - which was my wife's idea.
Needless to say, I picked a good one. ;-)

A day to celebrate a group of people is not a day to talk about the negative behaviors of another. They do this with Black history month too. My son learned racist slurs against black people from his school teacher's guest speaker during black history month. Absolutely disgusting.

I remember (as a young boy), having my self esteem challenged from the beginning of my development, by the nursery rhyme "What are little boys made of". Frankly, I've not seen the presumption of female superiority let off since then. It hasn't caused me a problem, however this never happened when my son was at school, or my two daughters. I am outraged at how the world is behaving at the moment.
