I have used this label marker for 12 years daily for my work. Using it multiple times a day. This tank still keeps going after 1000s of TZ tapes! I cant stress this enough buy one lightly used online it will last a life time!
It is August 25th of 2020 and I have to say I just got my own label maker. It is amazing how much use I have done with it. P.S. A lot of times you can find one at the Local goodwill or thrift stores. People tend to donate them because of the cost of the tapes.
I am new to labeling lol. My question is how do you keep the thing from wasting so much tape between words. It seems to have a large gap of just wasted tape??
The gap can be cut down on if you just place a space or two between labels. This only works with single row labels, double rows can not be printed with a space in between. I'm pretty sure this was an intentional setting from the manufacturer to drive sales in replacement tapes. Perhaps newer models resolve this issue but I'll have to check around to see if that's the case. :) Natasha
I use these mostly for labeling my cell phone cords or any new detachable electric cords. Makes it easy to decide if I should toss out the cord/plugs. I'm contisting using my two machines. One upstairs and one in my basement craft room. I was hoping you were going to show how to make the margins smaller. Oh well.
My husband has owned the PT-1750 for years and uses it constantly for file labels mostly. I make resin pieces for gifts and would like to make a small printed clear "label" to go inside the resin piece, with a date or some commemoration for the recipient of the gift. Will these labels hold up inside resin, or would they decompose? Also, does your 1750 have font choices, or just allow one font with different widths etc.? Naturally there are no instructions where my husband can find them!! The new Brother models show cool frames and graphics, but I could live without those if the 1750 can do the essentials. Loved your video - thanks for your help!
Really need some help with this.... I recently acquired the model PT-1750 and really like it... However, I am unable to change font size when printing TWO line labels. It will only print the two line labels in really small character text size. No issues with the single line printing; all sizes available there. I am using the widest 18mm tape which appears to have plenty of room for two lines with larger character text. But user manual does not address this and Brother support is of little help also.... Any ideas if larger character text is available when printing two lines... or only the small default size 1 text...?? .................THANKS...
Good tutorial. My PT 1900/1910 displays at message after I press the PRINT button that is difficult to read but looks like this: MESSEER on line 1 and EEHLER on line 2. Can you tell me what this means? BTW the Brother website was not helpful. Thank you!
Hey, I have the same one, it was given to us, years ago, from my father in law. I love it, it works wonderfully! I need to find that one for clothes, that would be great for kids coats!
I think we all go through phases of using a tool regularly and then suddenly it getting pushed to the back 'burner'. I find that if I see it, I use it and if I put it away in a box/tote/container it falls off my mental list of items to use. :) Natasha
I just got a PT1890 the tape says white laminated tape. The laminated fall off and what is left is black with white letters. There are black letters on the lamination. I feel like the black should be pealed off but it doesn't. Do you know that is going on with the? Thanks Linda
I have the p-touch 1880. i can't figure out how to cut down the length of the label and I'm having to cut them down and waste tape. Any idea on how to do this? Thx!
I got a new Brother p touch D 400 and for the life of me I can't figure out how to control the size of the letters...I have done all the directions...and sometimes it will be small...but most of the time it is huge...I am wondering how to save the small size...Have you ever used this type??
There is a suze setting, plus there is also an automatic adjustment to fit the size of the tape. So if you pick the largest size font, and you are using the smallest size tape, it will not print off the edge but rather adjust to fit within the confines of the tape hight.
HI, I am using a PT-1950. How do you change the length of the label itself? I have changed it to 10inches and it says there is no room and I only have the on the label at Font 36 "2019 business licenses". Please help.
The label length is determined by spaces and characters. Each model has a max number and a screen message will be displayed once it's reached. Hope this helps. :)
Thank you Natasha! You answered most of my questions. Very informative video.
Glad it was helpful!

Use the chain setting for printing. This removes the big chunk between the words.

I have a newer brother labeler this I really love. I also have an older dymo one too. Gotta label everything!
I should have shown my Dymo, which I enjoy using for crafty things rather than utilitarian labeling.

I think that when using 2-line next, the option to change text type is disabled, sorry.
@@Enastasia .... I was afraid that was the case... thanks.

The fabric one is great for kids clothes for school and camp.

Thanks for your response, I will try this or get more narrower tape for this application.
I love my labeler too, I have a Dymo. I think I go through phases where I label everything. I've used mine the past few days a few times. :)

Can you please to show us how you use the label maker in the kitchen and other rooms in the house.
Linda,
I will work on putting together a blog post with photos of my label obsession throughout the house and post a link here.

Linda, was this a two pack that you could try the other one? I have not encountered this before with any of the TZ tapes I've used.
Natasha Hensel Thank you. I will try the other one.
I love my labele too however, the display screen has turned black. Is there a way to fix it?
You can try to determine if it's the screen or a power source issue. Can you print anything?

hi there, is there a button that I can print out with less blanks ?? I feel like it is a waste of paper...

How do you make the lettering smaller or does the font size change with the size of the tape?
